calls once every single day when i'm not home.

Block all numbers starting with 973-273-78**.  I'm porting my cell phone number to Google Voice to block these scam phone numbers.  Here's the info - http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1065667  Google Voice also gives you free text messaging and visual voicemail.  Verizon won't help, the FCC won't help, only Google will help stop these scam calls.

This number calls repeatedly throughout each day and hangs up the moment you answer it. Please make them stop!!! It calls day and night nonstop never stopping!!!

getting calls constantly   call back, hit one to ge my number off the kist to no avail for weeks.. stop the harrassment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Repeatedly calls me.

Checking my caller ID I see this number and others with the same exchange have been calling on a daily basis.  Please make it stop!

What is up with this machine call?  I get calls from this or another number with a local area code / extension and if I answer there isn't even a telemarketer on the line.  I just hear nothing.  Is it some kind of checker to see if the number belongs to someone - done prior to targeting numbers with ads or for collections agencies?  I wish someone would put a stop to phone-spam.  It would be nice to hear the phone ring and assume it is a legitimate call for a change.

Rang 4 times and hung up.  Caller ID shows only the number.

I have received numerous call from this company asking if I would like to redeem a discount for my electric bill and i have asked them numerous times to STOP calling me and they continue to call, sometimes its a different number but the same company.  Please make them stop!!!  They keep changing their number but all numbers start with a (973) 273-XXXX.

I've tried calling back and pressing one and a few hours later another combination calls. This goes on repeatedly. Who are these people?

How can I block these numbers?

Calls several times a day without leaving any identifiable information and/or message. To make it look official caller id now shows up as "Public Assistance".

I too have been getting these calls and blocked them at least 7 times<  diff numbers>but these jerks just call from another number! so annoying they call every single day....

Received calls from aforementioned number from 0900 hrs through 2000 hrs daily.  Appears to be a robotic dialer with no known owner or proper origin.

The problem is if you call back same number it's says press 1 to put your number in do not calling list and it takes 24 hrs. I have been putting my number everyday for one week and still keep getting the calls.

This number is one many in a consecutive  group of numbers used by a prank caller to call my home number several times a day. I have my fios number programmed to ring my cell phone, this way I can block these calls with an android app.  The android app works pretty well since I can program a whole range of numbers at the same time and not having to see this pranker calls come in daily.

This has been happening to me for months. I've already blocked 8 numbers with the same scam.  It's SO ANNOYING.  Multiple times a day.  If you don't pick up, they call right back. It's a robot though and not an actual person. I get calls from all over the Country.  I go on Verizon and block them yet they just come again from somewhere else a few days later.  This 973 is the newest.

This number calls me repeatedly throughout each day and hangs up the moment you answer it. This has been going on for an entire month and I have submitted a formal report with the Newark PD as well as my township PD. FYI....this constitutes harrassment and I have the right to sue the moment you are identified.
