MISSED THIS CALL, BUT CALLER LEFT NO MESSAGE.  DID A SEARCH ON THIS NUMBER, BUT UNSUCCESSFUL IN FINDING OUT WHO IS CALLING.  DON'T WE HAVE ANY RIGHTS TO PRIVACY ANYMORE? WE HAVE PHONES FOR A PURPOSE AND THESE CALLERS ARE A PAIN IN THE "YOU KNOW WHERE". MY PHONE IS RINGING CONSTANTLY FROM THESE TELEMARKETERS, POLITICIANS LEAVING LO-0-NG MESSAGES, DEBT COLLECTORS, ETC. IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET RID OF THESE CALLS THAT AREN'T EVEN MY CALLS?

This call came though my direct work line (I'm a customer service rep). I didn't answer but noted the phone number as I have had MANY calls like this lately, from differing numbers. I read somewhere that companies hire telemarketing services located in Canada to get around the US's Do Not Call List... using US telephone numbers. I own an 1991 car, am not the original owner and I absolutely DO NOT have or need a warranty! Who is generating these calls? And who is stupid enough to pay them money? How do these scammers stay in business??? Enquiring minds want to know...

I get these calls informing me that this is the "final warning that the warranty is about to expire on your vehicle".  My only "vehicle" is my bicycle.  I've gone through the prompts, talked to the CS person, and when they ask the year, make, and model of my vehicle, I tell them it is a 1973 Schwinn LeTour.  I've only been hung up on once - most times I use that as my lead-in that I don't want to be contacted by them again.  Most of the time they promise no more contact.  I'm on the telemarketing do-no-call list, and it doesn't seem to deter these guys at all.  Seems like a predatory scam.

Okay, I posted this on another site already, but I'm mad enough to post it here too.  I get these calls about twice a week, where a snippy woman (a recorded voice) declares "your car's warranty is about to expire" and then goes on to rudely lecture me with "you've ignored several warnings that we've sent to you by mail."  The facts: We live in Manhattan. We don't own a car and ever have. We have no debt. We pay all our bills ontime and always have: We both have 800+ credit scores and 100% clean credit records. And we have never received any mail about auto or vehicle warranties of any kind. Of course, I've told the reps we don't have a car and to stop these calls.  So WHY are we being continually HARRASSED?  On countless occassions, I have pressed the button to automatically take us off the list -- IT DOES NOT WORK. The calls keep coming. But its worse than that: most of the time when I've reached a rep, they have hung up on me as soon as it was apparent that I had no auto. Just hung up.

Today, I star-69ed to get the number and tried to call them back -- but on each of three attempts I got the standard telephone company "this number is not in service" message. Clearly this is a SCAM, but even more so, it is an annoyance that now tortures innocent people. One wonders if some sort of retaliation service involved -- being on this call list is like something a creep would do to his enemies. I've found dozens and dozens of postings online about other people getting these calls. We can't shut off the phone or screen effectively as traveling business collegues must be able to reach us from various locations when necessary.  Sadly, I've yet to see any solid advice about who or what can be done to track down this company and legally put a halt to their calls. Please, somone figure out how to sue these people!

Just got a call from them also and presses 1 to speak to a rep.  I told him to remove my number from his list and he said no and hung up on me.  Nice company and great that we can't do anything to stop these people!

Obviously the government can't control phone spammers like they say they can. I just got the same annoying call about 3 minutes ago. Looking at the dates of the responses concerning this phone number, there are obviously alot of us out there that are receiving this annoying scam call. Thank God for the internet! We couldn't investigate phone numbers like this twenty years ago.

I just got this call, too. The number listed above (210 602-7976) does NOT appear to be related to these calls. A very polite operator answered the phone, and asked if I thought he'd called me, to which I said "yes". He told me it wasn't him, but an unrelated company out of New Jersey.

He took the time to talk, and was quite friendly, so I doubt this is the same outfit.

These guys have called here several times - similar to comments above. When I press "1" to speak to a "representative", as soon as I ask "what is this about", they always hang up. The original incoming call is a recorded message giving two options - "press 1 to speak to a representative or 2 to hang up". Obviously whatever they are trying to peddle is too secretive to answer any questions about. This one should be reported to the FCC for "phone spamming".

Answered a call from 973-302-8801. It was an automated sales pitch telling me my warranty was about to expire.  I pressed one to speak with a representative, a human answered and as soon as he heard I was about to ask a question about the call, and was not providing my car's year and make, he immediately hung up.  I redialed the number a few times to get the company's name but they have some sort of system that keeps the number busy and when not busy, it goes to the multi-tone bad number. I suspect this all purposely done to prevent tracing or identifying the calling company or organization. There is no opportunity to remove my number or explain I do not want to buy the warranty product. They have called for about two years, at a frequency of once every month or two. It is annoying and certainly would not buy a product from a company that does business like this.

I am the phone's master...it is not mine.  I don't have to answer it if it rings.  So when I saw the above number, I didn't answer and they didin't leave a message.  A search reveals they are attempting to sell an automobile warranty.  They are now included in my blocked calls list!

I received a call from this phone number on my business line.  I have gone to the "Company" website (http://www.warrantyservicescompany.com)and have called the phone number listed on the webpage 210 602-7976.  A gentleman answered and was very nice and said that he has been getting many calls from upset people.  This gentleman is located in San Antonio and has nothing to do with Car Warrenties.  He sells recreational vehicle insurance.  I do NOT believe that the annoying phone calls and this cell phone number are connected in any way.

Telemarketer
This call came in on 9/11/08 at 11:18AM showing Unknown Caller on my Caller ID, with the number 973-302-8801. This was a recording promoting an "internet business opportunity". It said to press 1 for more information, press 9 to disconnect (note: not to be taken off the call list). I pressed 1 and was connected to Nora. I asked what company she works for. She said "Shop to Earn". I asked why I was being called since we are on the Missouri No-Call list. She said, "I'm sorry," and hung up.

(The above paragraph is the text from my report to the Missouri AG's No-Call office.  Maybe we can get 'em.  Our state Attorney General seems to be pretty good about going after these scofflaws.  People: be sure you take the time to submit your complaint reports to the proper authorities.  It's the only way we can shut some of them down.)
