Got a text saying family member hurt in accident. Called number back on landline - right to v/m that "isn't set up" then disconnects. Been calling them every couple min for about 5 hrs now. Guess that line's out of service!! LOL

Sorry an accident just happen here at the gastation and one of ur family member is injure.  This is exactly the way it was written.  Did not respond.  Please get this person who seems to be a troubled individual.

Exact same call. I spoke with 2 guys who gave me the same story about an accident and they had taken my family member and were holding him hostage in their basement. They were asking for $1500 to be sent to Puerto Rico through a money gram. Then wanted to meet to do the exchange. I reported it to the police and they said there is nothing they can do. Really? With all of the technology out there??

why would you report it to local authorities?  They lack any jurisdictional authority to go after these scammers.   The FBI won't get involved and do their J O B.  They're too busy fighting "terrorism?"  Like this isn't a form of terrorism!

Just got the identical call at 130 on 10/09/13 from a Hispanic male saying the same thing that someone I knew got in a car accident and gave the person my number. He wouldn't tell me who it was or what car the person was driving.. And then asked for me to come and bring money. I hung up

On 9/21/2013 at 2:22pm I received a call from a Hispanic male who was very agitated and claimed that a family member was just seriously injured in an accident and the person who hit them gave my number to get insurance information. I told him that I had no relation in Massachusetts as this is what the caller ID showed. He then told me that he was in the Bronx and it must be my husband or brother or son who hurt his sister and nephew. I told him my son was downstairs, my husband was on a bus on his way to work and I didn't have a brother. After telling him this repeatedly, he just got more agitated and insistent, wanting my insurance and contact info. I tried for several minutes to calm him down telling him that he got bogus info and he needed to get the correct contact number but the he started to curse at me, call me names and threatened to bust up my face and kill me. This is when I hung up. This is a sick, twisted and scary individual and if he contacts you, just hang up.

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

Got a call from this Number 2day about a family member being in a car accident and that the family member was badly hurt but in top of that he was being held as a hostage....My husband was the one that took the call so he had thought that it was his little brother that recently went away and gave his name away to these prank ppl so now they had a name to hold on to and continue with their set up.. as my husband continues on he starts getting angry and confuse cuz these individuals are asking for $1000 for the life of his brother.. So I took d call n started 2 talk to this man that spoke in Spanish and ofcourse cuz of their accent they were from Puerto Rico.... Looong story short while me talkin 2 this man my husband went ahead and contacted his  brother and thank God he was ok.... I then told these b*****ds to go and fool some one else cuz we knew that the family member was ok.... Please be aware of these kind of calls and doint let urself be fool... They also use other area code numbers such as 787 which is from Puerto Rico....

Just got a text that was all in Spanish from this number saying someone in my family was in an accident and c very hurt. Then got a call and they said they didn't speak English and were only saying important things like family..hurt.. Little did they know I had a Spanish speaking co-worker and handed the phone to them and they proceeded to tell my coworker a family member or friend was in an accident in Miama Florida and were trying to find someone to contact. my co worker told them I knew no one in Miami and hung up. Huge scam and awful thing to do to people. Almost had a heart attack thinking someone I knew could be serioudly hurt in a car accident.

Yup me too...sketchy text in Spanish about some car accident or something. Very weird and suspicious.
