I also have gotten several calls from this number about my car's warranty. It seems to have started about the time I had new tires put on my car by a local shop. The man claimed he obtained information about my car from the tire shop and was offering an extended warranty on my car. I tried to explain that my car was old enough, and with high enough miles, that there's no way that anyone would offer a warranty (a '97 with 285,000+ original miles.) The man finally agreed and said he would take my name off the list of potential clients. But they never did. I've received four calls since then, and plan to take this up with the shop.

called on 1/25/07 at 10:16 am, we also have old cars with many original miles, no one would offer us a warranty and quite frankly I don't want one, if I did I would be calling them.  I tried to call back but only get a busy signal.

i have not owned a vehicle in two years, and just got a call from this number. they left no msg. all i can guess is my info was sold somehow, some where.

I am getting called from people that this number keeps calling about this warranty.  my number is 978-4850 so all my local people are  lookin at their caller id and hit redial they all call me because when they hit redial it only dials 978-485-0170 = there is no 1 in front of the number so local people in my area of NJ are calling me yelling and cursing me out for the last 3 weeks. I have recieved over 200 calls in the last 20 days.  I wish there was something i could do to these people with the warranty that would wipe them away for good if you know what i mean, I think if it keeps going on for a couple of more days im going to have to change my number that i have had for 10+ years. when you dial the company or what ever the hell they are it is always busy, is anyone else having this problem or am i the only a**hole with all the luck

I get called twice a day by these people. I hit #9 to be taken off the list but they keep calling. They use different phone #s also bought tires 8 months ago from Discount tires??

Shows up as private on caller ID

They call several times a week and when i have answered i have had no response. Tonight i did not answer thinking they may leave mess. but they did not. This is not the only # that does this. I tired of it.

I got tires from Firestone - did anyone else that gets calls from this number get their tired done at Firestone (calls come in here at my MN home 1-3x a week).

We were getting these too...I even received a postcard from them which thankfully gave the number to call. I called and asked to get taken off the list. Hopefully this will do the trick. They can be reached @ 1-800-436-3185.

Most annoying car warranty message.This one was a continuous loop that repeated till my answering machine was full. Why is no one shutting these people down?

     Machine messages like this are absolutely illegal.

     Yes, you can sue them! Each one of these calls is worth money. The MINIMUM you can get in small claims court is $500. If you do a little research on the 'net, you'll learn that you can easily get up to $5,000 per call -- and that some people have gotten more than $20,000.00 per call. One company was court ordered to pay more than $80,000.00 for three calls. To get that kind of money takes someone a little smarter than some of the posters at 800notes, but a lawyer can do it. YOU can probably get between $1,500 and $5,000 PER CALL in small claims court, if you will just pay attention around here, and follow through.

For this particular call, there are several violations. Each is worth a minimum of $500. Plus, they can be tripled.

1. Machine message
2. Company name not given
3. Company phone number not given
That's $1,500 to start with, if the judge isn't on their side. Even if he is, it's still $500. If he's completely on your side, the $1,500 X 3 = $4,500.

And, if you do a little research, you'll find other possible violations to put into your suit and up the ante.

It would be nice if you would help one another, by posting truthful, accurate, and useful information about the CALLERS. If 100 or 1,000 people all complain about it here, and all do nothing but describe what happened, it's all useless information. What we need are things like the company name (You can get it by talking to them, or by a subpoena after you file your suit.) the address, and the registered agent.
