I work for the company who's number is 978.640.3900 and we have nothing to do with this. For the last 2 days we have been dealing with our phone provider about this issue. We are a legitimate business but someone is ghosting our number to show up on caller id. We apologize to anyone who has recieved a call and are in no way involved in the calls asking for debit card information etc. It has virtually crippled our phone system as we are getting hundreds of calls from all over the country. We notifed Bank of America the moment we were told and also Verizon. Not sure if the Verizon strike is what is delaying the calls to stop.

This number called on 8/10; didn't answer it so it went to 'missed calls'.  Evidently that was a good decision!  What happened to that Do Not Call list?

My husband got the same call on his cell phone and we got the same one on the land line.

I just got this call on my cell phone.  It was very hard to understand, crackly and broken up, but the gist of the call was that my debit card had been locked and to re-activate my card press 1.  I hung up without pressing anything!  I tried to call back but got a "your call did not go through" message.

I answered it, and they told me my debit card had been locked and some other things that I could hardly understand.  It sounded like a computer type and talk.  So I called my bank and they said it wasn't them.  Stupid scammers.

I too just got a call from this number.  As another poster said, it was too garbled for me to understand it, so I called the number back and I kept getting "thank you for calling verizon...thank you for calling verizon" then the call ended.

I just got a call from this number and it was too garbled to understand what the recording was saying. Thank you, everyone, for sharing what you know. Now I can feel better about ignoring it.

Got the call last night at 10:15 and claimed they are Bank Of America. The voice message suggested me to contact local law enforcement for fraud.  I called them back the line were either busy or no one ever pick it up.  Scam!!

This number just called me a minute ago, and I picked up but there was no one on the other line. Called back but it was busy. Then I looked up this information. Strangely, even though I am in MA right now, I have an Oregon phone number?? Strange. I wonder how they are getting this information.

Received a phone call from this number at 10:44 PM last night telling me my Bank of Americal debit card has been inactivated and instructed me to enter my debit card # to reactivate it now.  I have a BoA debit card but found this very strange so I hung up.  I googled the number and found this post.  I called BoA in the morning and confirm that they did not make that call and this definitely a scam.  I reported this number to by emailing to abuse@bankofamerica.com so BoA can personally take care of this so others won't fall into this trap.

Sounded like a speak and spell.  Claimed to be Bank of America.  Attempted to enter a bogus card #, but it was not accepted.  They likely have some error checking/checksum technology.

Scammer called me and around midnight. Automated message telling me to update my info for my bank immediately, wanting me to input personal information. Of course I didn't do it, but it was annoying and an invasion of privacy, and could really harm some people if they fall for it.
