A guy saying is name is Kevin Smith form America First Credit Union approving a $10,000 pay day loan. However his accent was very hezvy and the number he posted on his email did not match the number he was calling from and when i went on line to check the company out nothing matched but the companys name. He wanted me to send $300 to him through CVS or 7-11 via cash no credit or debit cardusage . He didnt even want my bank information.
979-884-7832 and another number which was on so called loan papers with many typos for a legal doc is +1-979-307-0716 on the loan papers it says Advance America cash advance not America Frist Credit Union

Phone # is provided by YMAX (the MagicJack IP phone guys):
http://www.fonefinder.net/findome.php?npa=979 ... Number&cityname=
This happens a lot:
https://www.google.com/search?q=ymax+fraud
fonefinder.net is handy for finding out what company is providing the phone # for the caller. If you can't stop the caller, you can contact their phone company and file a complaint. Usual action is that the phone company will contact the caller and tell them to stop calling you. Remember, don't get mad at the phone company rep cause it won't do any good.
YMAX doesn't post an email for customer support, but other more resourceful people have found out how to contact YMAX:
http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/magicjack71819.html
So contact the caller's phone company, lodge a complaint (and get a ticket #, incident #, case #, or *something* that you can reference), and the calls should stop. However... If the caller was trying to commit fraud with your information, you should also file a complaint with the fcc (http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm) and in the notes let them know you've contact the phone company and put in your ticket/incident/case #.
The fraudulent calls will stop sooner if *everyone* complains (to the telco providing the scammer phone service) and to the FCC who can enforce the blocked call requests (if the calls don't stop) and prosecute fraudsters (if they get enough complaints).

Heavy accent that sounded like he was talking from another room. Stated he was with a credit company calling about a loan that my husband applied for. My husband has not applied for a loan at all. The scarey part, he read off his social security number, in it's entirety, over the phone on the answering machine. How in the world did he get that and why would he leave that number, in it's entirety, on a answering machine that may not even belong to the person whos SS number is stated? SHADY doesn't even begin to describe. What do we do now? Who do we turn to? Tried calling this guy back and it's an answering machine. Not sure if there is any legal recourse here.

I received a call today from this number and yes, he had a very heavy accent. He said that he was from the Department of Law and Investigation. These calls sure do get annoying. Wish there was something we could do about it or somewhere we could call to turn them in for harrassment. They are rude and discourteous especailly at work places.

i received calls on my cell phone and now on my work phone. Gives me a name of an investigator and wants to transfer me to someone else. I have tried to call the number back and I get a guy's answering machine, not the person that called or a firm. Very heavy accent.
Scammers.

This man with a very heavy accent keeps calling one of my employees. He gave me 2 different names in a matter of 10 minutes. He said he was investigating a fraud charge and needed to talk to her. He called her at least 4 other times as well. Said he was calling from the Department Of Law And Investigation. He said our number was under investigation and said there was fraud activity. He first said his name was Jason Miller and when I asked him again he said his name was Mark William.

Continue to receive calls from this number. Most of the time there is no message only once they stated from the Department of Law Investations

I have received repeated calls from this number claiming to be the Department of Law Investigations looking for a Caesar somebody-or-other (hard to understand heavy accent of caller). I tell them to put me on the do-not-call list (which I am already on), but they continue to call.
