CALLED ME THAN DIDNT PICK UP

This is not Walmart! It's scammers..... I received a call with this on my caller id over the past week, if I answer they say nothing. They have left 2 messages saying it was urgent that I( or my attorney) call them back at immediately or "good luck as all this unfolds on you) 714-409-0415
BULL****!! This was a man with a foreign accent saying his name was "Jason Daisy" from ACF Litigation Dept.

I work for Bank of America and this number 980-233-6196 is calling me constantly.  I need it to stop since I number is 704-582-2619 and is a Blackberry for a Financial Institution and is on a do not call list

this number is used by a discount foreign provider.  at first I did not answer but now, that I know, it was my cousin in Germany paying 1 Cent/min for the call. they are using this number to connect in the area.

Called several times - picked up once to find it ringing back out as if I dialed it.  Refused to answer it after that.

I received the same call, except I didn't get a chance to answer. I called back and the number failed to work. I post ads on Craigslist. Maybe this is how the person got my number? Anyone else use Craigslist or networking sites like that?

these are scammers. when you pick up, the phone rings as if you called them. (very strange). then some answeres and says they're calling about your visa card. then they say they want to send you some prize or free gift. they almost got my grandmother, but i picked up the phone and told them not to call again. but they keep calling. also, they have other numbers that only show up as private on caller ID.

No message ...just rings and hangs up..annoying!!!!

Received a call to my home number.  I did not answer but let the machine.  No message left and why I call back, I received a fast busy.  Just some BS call.  I don't owe any bills so it's a sales call, I'm sure.

I received several calls this morning from two women (one calling herself Nicole) and a man with Indian accents. The background was very noisy and they claimed to be from a company called Global Rewards. They said that I was entitled to $120 in free gas credits and to claim my rewards they just had to verify some information. They passed their phone between them claiming to be a representative passing me to a superior. I kept them on the line to get as much info as I could. They did have my correct home phone number, name and address. They also know the last four digits of my  check card. The number they called from came up on my caller ID as NORTH CAROLINA 980-233-6196.  I told them I had to verify with my bank and they became agitated, insisting it was not a scam and called back three times.

Continue to get numerous calls from this number. No one answers when I pick up. Very aggravating!

I've received a couple of calls from this number and finally decided to answer today.  It was a male calling to confirm my Mastercard and the last four digits. Said that he was just calling to thank me for being a Mastercard user and that I would be receiving a $25 Walmart gift card in the mail. So I asked him if he knew which bank issued my card. Said again that he was calling to thank me for using my card.  And then I asked him if he was calling from my bank and he said he wasnt calling from a bank; was calling from "Avalon", a partner of Visa, Mastercard, etc. So I said thanks, but no thanks.  Hung up.  Just another marketing scam, I suppose.

i received a call in my home phone no from 980-233-6196 no one answered the call and when called back it is saying disconnected.

I received a call from Canada but it was a legitamate person whom I was expecting.  The wierd part was that it did not come up as the Canadian number but this one.  It also did not let me answer and it went to my voicemail.  Weird

received repeated calls from this number. no one there.

someone called from this number, sound like a male voice, I hung up, and called the number back, it said to please enter a valid pin number.

i got a call this morning from this number, I said hello a couple times then they hung up...I tried calling it back and it said to enter a valid pin number...this is probably some people who hacks into company's files to get people personal information because I was filling out some stuff online on yesterday using my home number and all of a sudden today this number calls....pretty ironic. {just be careful}

Got a call from 980-233-6196. The man said that he noted that my computer had been running slow. I asked him how he knew this. He stated that I a 'windows' operating system. I said yes. He said that it had a problem and that it needed to be fixed. It was clear he was in a room with a large number of other folks talking on other lines. His accent was not American. As I asked questions he just kept repeating that I had a computer problem and that he would fix it for me. After a few more questions he hung up.

I got 3 calls from 777 888 0595 and 1 call from 980-233-6196 within 10 minutes. I believe they all came from the same source. The call center person from 777 number said that the call was from Metabank. He claimed that I applied for a debit card which I never did. I talked to his supervisor as well. I hung up twice and asked not to call me ever. It was bad experience.

Since it was a mobile phone, as other callers have said, it's voicemail can be directly accessed with the right know-how.  I also got the same "Please enter a valid pin:" prompt.  So, I dug a little deeper...  the reason this happens is that this a pre-paid cellphone from SunCom Wireless here in Charlotte, NC.  

Since the number called, my cellphone, is posted publicly on the internet (on my résumé), I assume this a scammer - legitimate organizations *RARELY* (if ever) employ pre-paid phones for real business.

I received a call around midnight on land line and today on my cell phone from 980 233 6196 without any message. When I called back the number, I got a message saying something like 'Valid Pin'.

rec'd call today in charlotte nc , hang up. thx to others for the notes

Got a call, let it go to voicemail, they did leave a brief voicemail.  It was a man with a European accent saying "If you'd like to call about this message or decline furthur calls from this number, call 0-800-008-6000"

That was it.

Got a call, answered, finally a female answered but then hung up.

Got a call today 1:48pm.  Left no message.  This is a Charlotte, NC area code.

got a call and tried to call it right back and it said this number has been diconnected????

Got a call last night around midnight,got a call again today.Did not leave a message or his name,it just said N.Carolina.

Got a call from 980-233-6196. The call simply said North Carolina call.When I picked up the phone, the caller hung up.
