Got a voicemail of strange static noises, like someone was accidently calling from their pocket.

Same here.  Called twice.  I looked up the area code between calls and saw it was a Louisiana area code, so answered it again since I know people from the area.  I am 917 also.

Same thing!  Mumbling "you speak chinese?"
"Wrong number" click.

I just got a call from this number too...was a female and asked if I speak chinese.

Got this call twice on my new cell phone. I was on another call so I didn't pick up.  I thought it had to be some kind of prank because only in the movies do they use that 555-.
