i just got the same damn call too.... mf'ers finally hung up on me.... they ask me questions but i couldn't get my questions answered... some bullshyt...

Credit card scammers!  I played the game.  Said she worked for Amex, Visa, Discover and MC. When I pressed the lady to tell me the actual name of the company she worked for, she hung up.

This is a bullsh*t credit card consolidation scam - it's the 3rd call in 24 hours for me.  1st time they just hung up, 2nd time the guy swore at me (when I asked him if he likes spam phone calls at home) and the 3rd time I decided to play with them and see how long I could waste their time before telling them that's what I was doing :-)

We should be able to stop this kind of harassment via phone - until such time I've decided to make it into a game and whenever they call and I have time I'll see how much of their time I can waste before telling them where to go :-)

I just got the "This is a call from your credit card company...Bla,Bla, Bla,...To talk to a live operator press 9 now" not thinking I did and got put on hold w/music and all...then I thought, Oh no I just gave access to my roll over minutes...but I see now if I would have stayed on the line I could have had some fun...next time I will...Thanks Folks...now I will be able to sleep tonight.

yes there is especially if your on the national do not call list...but go ahead and try to find these guys...not with that bogus number on your caller I.D...if it really bugs you try the old police whistle  or a boat horn would be rather effective...or if you have the time, have some fun and go for a ride

Got the same call on my do not call cell phone.

just got the call too... they said press 9 for cardmember services, so I pressed the 9 button, and heard music, then an operator got on the phone and said cardmember services.... I asked which card this is, and they just hung up.... weird.

I got a call from this number automated system and push nine to connect, I pushed 9 asked them to remove me from their call list, the jacka$$ on the line says "no" he has every right to call me for 5 years now because I pushed 9. I asked to speak to a supervisor he said "I'm it, sweetheart." I asked to speak to someone who can take me off the list and he said there is nobody to do that. I asked him to stop calling this is a business phone number. He said "No I will not but I will be sure to call you 5 more times a day." It gets better, he then gives out our phone number to other customers that are calling as his Customer Service Center. We have recevied a number of phone calls to field. I am beyond furious with this business! And seriously how do they get away with this????

I got a voice mail notice from this number.  Nothing on it.  I decided there just MUST be a hell now and the final ring reserved for these bastards.  The Ring of the Jerks.

This is the creeps from a card scammers....I reported them to the AG office here in NH..and will contiune to do so until these creeps are stopped. yah its annoying but it will just as annoying to them if the AG gets on thier behinds..they can be stopped if we report it to the AG office..any state will do

I get this call often most of the time i let the answering machine get it but i picked and no sound then it hung up. So the next time i didnt answer and got the number. Is there I law against things like that.

986-000-9876 is very clever, and difficult to track, even fileto FTC,that' no results until now.

Got another call today. (Had gotten them in the past.  Got the hang up result when I told them I was on the do not call list.)

This time I asked to speak with a supervisor.  Lady said sure.  I heard the click.  Then awhile later I got the disconnect message.

I am reporting this to the Feds.  Hope they get them.

THEY USE A DEVICE TO HIDE THEIR REAL PHONE NUMBER.  YOU CAN NOT REPORT IT AT THE DONOTCALL.GOV WEBSITE BECAUSE WHEN YOU TRY BOTH THE AREA CODE AND THE EXCHANGE ARE NON-EXISTING AND IT WILL NOT LET YOU CONTINUE.

Answered, to tell this, "credit card refinance company", to take me off of their call list and informed them that we were on the "No call registry"... was told that they wouldn't take me off...asked for the callers name, she said "Claire"...asked to speak to her supervisor...she called me a rude bi***...asked her to please put her supervisor on...said " Oh, now your going to try to be polite?"...My response? "Give me your supervisor, C*nt!" Inappropriate on my part? Yes! Pushed to it? DEFINATELY! She refused to hang up until I mentioned to my husband to get me my cell phone so I could lodge a complaint with my phone company, while she was still on the phone...CLICK...shouldn't this be illegal?!?!

i got one too today the last time they called i pressed pound key it put me right to the caller. sounded Jamaican. this man had the the worst potty mouth i have ever heard.he told me to f*** my mother a lot till she bleeds.so i took it upon my self to mess with this d****ead.press a key when he there talkin like beep beep beep this made him very angry after him threatening my life and my mothers life. i started to repeat every thing he said to me kinda like being in the third grade again.i took great joy in this. another fun thing to do is scratch the phone when your talking to a tela marketer and tell them to hold on while you grab difrent phone then leave out some words when you talk and they get all flustered.I figure it this way they mess with me im gonna aggravate them as long as i can dont let them hang up do not say good buy or any thing when they do. childishness oh yea its fun

It is a hacker trying to steal your ID and credit info. He has hacked into a phone exchange and is phishing you for your information. This is a criminal enterprise and crosses state boundaries in the commission of a crime. Do not give your name or even pick up or hang up immediately. If you have the energy and inclination report to authorities.

Scam, don't pick up. Block the # on your phone.

it's probably nco or portfolio (or 1 and the same) calling;  they seem to like messing with people..........

Got a call today and answered it out of curiosity. It was a recorded message about "no problem with your current credit card, but can get lower rates" (or words to that affect). I listened, and pressed 9 to talk to someone. Listened to her little spiel a bit, and as soon as I said the words "I want to be removed..." she hung up without me even finishing what I was saying. Called back and got message I didn't need to dial 1 first, called back without the 1 and got message the number was no longer in service. Obviously faked number. Reported to the FCC Consumer Compliant website.

I answered because I was mad they kept calling, I am on the do not call list
they asked do you want to lower your credit interest but I said I am on the do not call list they hung up
I have to say it did not sound like a legit call it actualy sounded like there was a party going on loud music and a lot of people shouting over the music I say its a con

Received a call from 986-000-9876 tonight at 5:33 p.m. Pacific Time.  Caller ID showed Out of Area.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  I guess the triple zeros are the way to get around the Do Not Call List?  Anyone know where the calls might be coming from?

I picked up on this number and heard "there is currently no problem with your current credit card", so I hung up. Undoubtedly, this is some company wanting to ask you about interest rates on your credit cards.....not worth bothering with.  I don't know how to get them stopped --may report to Do Not Call list. I usually just don't answer; was just curious as to what they wanted. When I called the number back, my phone said "The number you have dialed has not been recognized".
