Called at 7 a.m. !!! saying I had a computer virus problem -- yah, right.

Numerous calls from numerous different phone numbers.  Same "computer problem" scam. This call came at almost 11 p.m. !!!

Received call at 7:01 A.M..The woman with an Indian accent said she was from Microsoft and that they had been receiving many messages about my computer being infected with a virus. I told her I didn't have a computer and I went to the library and used theirs. Kept insisting  had a computer that was infected.

11:36pm Pacific. Caller claimed to be with Windows Support. He had a thick India accent.
Told him he was lying and to remove my number from their list.

I got a call at 10p.m. tonight and I only answered it so I could chew out the idiot stupid enough to call that late at night. It was an Indian male on the phone...giving me the exact same story as the rest of these. I told him that there was no way HP was calling me to advise me of a problem on my computer at 10p.m. at night. He stated several times that it was a very urgent matter and that I'd just overlooked the problem. Needless to say I was smart enough to hang up on him. Certainly hoping I don't experience the multitude of calls some of you are reporting.

I got this scam call tonight also.  Phone number on caller ID was 989-683-2111.  Was a man with an Indian sounding accent and claimed to be somebody from Microsoft.  He was very demanding and I asked for a phone number I could call him back.  He refused to give me that.

This is a SCAM!  Hang up as fast as you can.  Do NOT give out any information.

I received a call today from a male with an strong Indian accent from Kinston Iron, 989-683-2111.  He knew my husband's name and our address. He said my computer was transmitting personal information to their server and he needed access to my computer to delete files.  Well, he told me that a computer in my house which was on Window's 7 being used by my husband.  I asked him what his company name was and he said UTH in Washington DC, well, 1)  989 is not a DC number and 2) Caller ID showed Kinston Iron 3) My husband only uses an Apple IPad and the other laptops in my home are all on Windows 8.  I gave him an earful and told him I would not allow someone who pulled my husbands name and our number from the white pages to access our computer.  I told him I do not have time for his garbage and I asked him to give me a call back number and a name.  He told me his name was Eric Young and his number was 800-625-7500.  Beware and do not give your information out to anyone who says they are a certified Microsoft Tech and do not let them have access to your computer.

Got a call today and last week. Saying the same thing, then I told him my PC caught on fire and he hung up, hahaha!

These callers are the raghead computer scammers, who try to cheat decent people in order to feed their camels!

yes another fed up person from nz have had same indian accented man ring @ late evening bedtime and woken us not very nice when needing sleep afer suffering a stroke hope these computer scammers can be stopped,all computer users would know if they had any thing wrong with their machines.

This number, 989-683-2111, has called again--I let phone go to answering machine--NO MESSAGE.  We are on 3, NO CALL LISTS which includes our cell phones, and they still get through!  Someone needs to do something that has some clout with these scammers!

Got same call from Indian woman who claimed she was from Microsoft.  Have reported the incident to Microsoft Section that handles scamming calls.

We also have been receiving these calls (actually 4-5 per week).  First I told them we don't use Windows.  That didn't stop them.  Then my husband yelled... yes we have windows.... look out there (pointing to the living room window).  I yelled.... DANG... yes we do have windows... we have about 35 in our home... they look great.!!!!  We were laughing so hard, he hung up.  This is only one of the ways I will be responding.  My next plan is to let them know they've called a sex hotline and I'll be charging them.  I think I can stretch that one out for a while.  Love my husband... he's always got the great comebacks!!!!!!  And your call type does not include a response for illegal marketing and threatening activity... it should.

Male Indian calling well after 21:00 hours. Claimed to be with Microsoft Windows. For what it was worth I gave him an earful and hung up.

received a call form 989-683-2111, man with thick Indian accent said he was calling from Windows support because there was  a 3rd party trying to access my computer.  He asked me to hold on that he was having some problems, I hung up and he called right back. He treid to get me to press the windows symbol next to cntrl and the letter r, I refused and told him this was a scam, he wanted to argue with me , I just hung up

This dude has called our house 8 times saying the same thing everytime. We try to talk to a manager or someone else and he hangs up. They are the worst scammers out there

Just received a call at 7:11 a.m. on a SATURDAY (5/31/31)!!! I only answered to stop the ringing phone from awakening my two children. Caller (with an Indian accent) claimed that he was calling in reference to my Windows software because  "they" were receiving severe virus threat alerts from my computer. I hung up on him.

On May 9, 2014. I received a Call from 989-683-2111 at an unthinkable hour of the Morning! At exactly 6:54 A.M. - I recognized the man calling, who I told numerous times to delete my phone # immediately! And I screamed into the phone: Do you know what time of the Morning It Is? And I said lose My Dam Phone # And I hung up on him again!

He is definitely from India!

Rec'd a call yesterday 5-8 at 5:02pm from probably the same man with the heavy Indian accent.  Told my husband that there was a virus on our Windows operating system on our laptop that he could fix. Husband wasted his time for a bit and then hung up on him.

The same man with an Indian accent just called me and gave me the same story. When I kept asking his name he got flustered and gave up. This call came in under V050922204800058. What's that all about?

I received a call from the same number.  The woman with an Indian accent said she was from Microsoft and that they had been receiving many messages about my computer being infected with a virus.  I told her we had more than 1 computer, so she would have to be more specific about which one it was.  She said that she would give me an ID# to write down and then walk me through how to find that # on the computer to identify the right one.  Then she told me to hold down the Window button and the letter R until I saw a window that said OPEN.  I was then instructed to type CMD.  I told her that I would need to verify the legitimacy of her call before I would do that.  She said that she is taking great pains to contact me and help me and I am accusing her of not being legitimate.  I said how do I know that you are calling from Microsoft and my computer isn't going to be hacked.  She said she was a certified computer technician and that if my computer is on the black screen with CMD it can't be hacked.  She then restated that she took great pains to contact me and many people are infected with this virus and need help.  I told her that her angry tone was another red flag that this call was a scam.  She then became irate, telling me that I had already been infected so it didn't matter, called me a stupid b**** and hung up on me!  I went on line to chat directly with Microsoft support and they informed me that they would never contact people like that.  Whew... I'm glad I wasn't scammed!  After reading the post about the computer programs being deleted, I feel very, very lucky.  Thank you everyone for all your posts.

Yeah...I noticed two phone calls from the 1-989-683-2111 on my caller ID. One was on May 6 at 731 am and one on May 5 at 321 pm. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Received a call from an individual who had an Indian accent, and was very hard to understand. He said he was from micro soft and was a HTU technician. I ask right off the bat if he was trying to sell me something. he said no sir. then proceeded with his sale pitch. After a while he finally got around to saying for a $177.76 he could repair my computer and it was going to take two hrs to do it.Again I told him that I would have my computer tech look into it for me, I finally hung up on him i did manage to get him a phone number which I intend to check out. The number he gave me is 1-510-962-4652

9:00 AM Pacific time       A woman was on the other end of the call, announcing she is from the Window's tech department.    She is Indian.  There was  clattering background noise.    We have had similar calls before so I toyed with her for a bit.   I pressed for  information. She said she is associated with UTH.  I asked what that is and she became irritated.  "Why do you need to know these things.  I am calling about your computer."  She hung up on me after I pressed her further for information.  

Call came at 11p last night-we were asleep so not at my A game, for sure. Asked for me by name (that was freaky!),  same approach as above...I am from Microsoft, we have a report your computer has a virus, is your computer on?, go to the keyboard and I will show you where the viruses are located on your system.
I told him he was out of his mind calling at 11 o'clock at night and hung up. After reading above notes I am going to block this number so I don't have a reoccurrence of this.

They been calling my house number exactly at 11:44pm every other day now everyone is asleep we want them to stop they even have called are cell phones too

A nuisance call.  did not say anything just Indian sounding person in background.  Finally hung up on me.
