Received a call from this number on Sept. 16, 2010 at 2:24pm. The call went to our answering machine and disconnected when no human answered. We are on the "no call" list and these things can still get through.

For those wondering why you get "The number you called is not in service. Please check the number and try again." when calling back....
Any number that has an area code of 992 is a fake number. 992 numbers started in India call centers as a cost savings measure. Just Google 992 area code for detailed information.
Also a prefix, the 039 part, can never start with a 0. Think what would happen if you tried to dial that number without the area code, you be directed to the operator, not the full number.

Me, too. Only I didn't hit redial because I get charged 75 cents for this service. My phone company
started this around the third year of American Idol.
My call came 9/1 at 2:31 pm.
So where is the 992 area?

Also received a call for money on behalf of the local sheriff's department to support our wounded officers in the line of duty and also Iraq.......I basically let him continue....only to insult my intelligence...to which I replied.....sorry ....this charity is not in my budget this year!

Just received a call from 992-039-2258. They asked for me by my first name. I asked "who is is this?" They then hung up. Date: 09/01/10. Time: 8:43 AM. When I hit re-dial on my phone the message I received was a recording: "The number you called is not in service. Please check the number and try again."

I tried to call the number back from my land line phone and came back "I'm sorry the number you are trying to reach is no longer in service" Only two minutes later!! Really? WTF

I picked up the phone and nobody responded. What a shame... I really wanted to listen to another scam. Caller ID gave the number and "UNAVAILABLE"... This usually means to me it's either a telemarketing scam, or a prank caller. And as I read from above, I'm taking it as a telemarketing scam.
