Have been receiving calls for the last few days from this number....never leaves a message.

Anyone know what these people want or what their business is?

Calls from this organization using various phone numbers occur every day. When I answer the phone, there is no response from caller. How can I stop this?

My caller ID says this call is from AICR a charity with a very poor rating on the Charity Navigator web site.  I called their number listed on their web site and they only have a recording that tells you how to donate.  They have called many times and I have not answered, but they do not give up.

I get several phone calls a day from AICR at this number.  When you answer there is no one there.

Calls many times a day and never leaves a message.  Who is it. I'm on the do not call list.

I also frequently get calls from this number and there's no one there!  I'm on the Do Not Call List but ir doesn't stop these people, whoever they are!

this number keeps calling almost every day. Please stop it!!!

We have been getting at least 5 phone calls a day from this number. We pick up we hear breathing and then get hung up on. Whoever is doing this needs a new hobbie how about saving animals from neglect or help at a homeless shelter!

Charities are REQUIRED BY LAW to put you on their DO NOT CALL list when YOU TELL THEM

They call between 8 and 9 every morning and never leave a message. When I returned the call it connected with a cancer research center asking for a donation. Anyone know how to get them to stop calling?

Got a call from 202-870-5979 today (1-17-10) and returned call. Found it was Am. Institute of Cancer Research (AICR).  Checked it out on Charity Navigator.com. Organization has a ?one? star rating out of five, meaning it ?Fails to meet industry standards and performs well below most charities in its Cause.?

Majority of donations go to program expenses, administration, and fund raising. President makes $322,000.00 annually. Her salary is 95% of expenses.

President Marilyn Gentry is Chief Executive of AICR and the World Institute of Cancer Research(WICR) since their inception.

Hmmm wonder if she is double dipping?

UNKNOWN CALLER - NEVER LEAVE MSG - IF I RESPOND TO CALL, I JUST PICK UP PHONE AND THEN IMMEDIATELY HANG UP.   DO THAT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND CAALLS STOPPED FROR A SHORT TIME; NEXT CALL, PROCESS BEGINS ALL OVER AGAIN.  THEY ARE A REAL PAIN IN THE PATOOT!!!

Same problem all month of July 2009.

I have received numerous calls from this number after donating clothing to this organization (they periodically send postcards out). Once they received my phone number, I guess they feel the need to phone every day.  I tried to phone the number back, but my number cannot be removed in this manner. I went to their website:  www.aicr.org and found two email addresses:  communications@aicr.org
and gifts@aicr.org.  I sent an email to both of these addresses and asked to be removed immediately.  Hopefully, this will work.

Correction.  The number was shown.

Got another call from this number.  They spoke to my wife and said they wanted to send her a "Kit" that she could receive and then mail out the contents to our neighbors.  This was all supposedly for "Cancer Research".
When she said "No thank you", the female started to talk again and so my wife hung up on her.

calls almost dailey

They continue to call me about a credit card debt that I do not owe. They give me a SS number of the individual they are looking for and it is not my ss number. I tell them this information but they continue to call.
