Dated 06/12/2014. Received call from a so called I.R.S. Agent. Stated he needed to talk to me right away because there was a very bad problem with my tax return. Funny I paid the gov't this year so I know the gov't is happy with me. His name was Mr. Martin. Tel # was 212-506-8435. FYI that is  a
manattan ny area code. Probably a mask tel  # for a foreign or Long Distance number. Called the Brooklyn NY D.A.s office and registered complaint with I.R.S. And FTC. You all need to do that to make it "Official" . No one can return money etc but at least you can prove you were targeted and showing due diligence as concerns any repercussions arising from the scam....WOW people have no idea how many and at what level these scams are. Take a hint from an old Marine. When it comes to your finances and personal info say absolutely nothing to anyone. Even family and friends because they talk without being aware who is listening and they are sending everything all over cyber Space. Keep it private.

Thanks for providing all those notes and data.  We need to spread out the words as much as possible to aware people of those phone scams...because if you get scammed, NONE of the authorized organizations such as 'FBI', 'Police', 'IRS'...will help you!  

The person who called us was Mark Watson (with accent) at 1-206-436-4708  & he was very RUDE.  
Do not call back if they leave you a message on your voice-mail.

Thank you everyone for posting! My aunt recieved this call on her answering machine and was terrified so she called me to find out what was going on. When i heard the voice message it was a HEAVY indian accent he left 3 messages saying we were under investigation  the first message we didnt understand half of what he was saying and then the second message he claimed his name was John Smith! really?!  I called the number and it sent me to another persons voicemail also Indian accent I dont recall the name on the answering machine but it wasnt John Smiths name.

It angers me that this is happening to elder people of other ethnicities who dont speak a lot of english and could possibly fall victims. I hope they catch these people soon!

Same scam with an accent ! Received call today and felt it was suspecious.

Unfortunately these callers are probably not even the US. All the red tape gets in the road unless they happen to step foot on US soil.  Occasionally the other country's actually do co-operate but its one of those things that takes time.  We'd love to see all the extortion scammers in Jail..

Today, we had a call from 206-436-4708r. The person identified himself as Mark Anderson (and then Mark Watson) form IRS. He threatened me with IRS issues and that there will be a warrant for my arrest.
Thank you everybody for posting this thread on internet.  Now, I know that the call was just a  fraud. I hope the put the b... s in jail.

The scammers are foreign - so not much the US Government can do to stop them, other than alerting people to the scam.

The same jack a** has called me twice saying my name will be given to the local police to arrest me! I told them to go to hell

The iIRS never calls you and always write. The IRS never threatens you and they are always nice.

And when someone tells me I have owed taxes for years then why do I get refund checks every year.

Lastly an Indian man with a heavy accent having American first and last name is very odd.  Btw Indians never Change their names !

I also received a call on my home answering machine from the same number, or at least I was asked to call back that number: 206-436-4708. It said it was Mark with IRS, "Internal Revenue Services". It was with a heavy accent and I could not understand half of the message. The crook did not even know the correct full form of IRS. Lol.

We should all try to call these criminals all through the night and day.  This way we will keep their line busy so that they can not get any more victims calling in on their stupid answering machine.

I am another victim of a call from this number 206-436-4708 in the name of IRS investigation division.  It is a scam. I am wondering why IRS is not doing anything about it.

It's a scam - if the IRS needed to get hold of you, they'd MAIL you a letter.  For all their faults, they do NOT call you and threaten you with a warrant or that you are under federal investigation.  However, scammers use these tactics to scare people into paying them money.  Please do report your caller to the real IRS at www.irs.gov.

Receive a call from David Martin, Chief Investigation Officer from the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Division.  He left a message on my voice mail for me to return his call at 206-436-4708.  He said a warrant had been issued against me and that I was under Federal investigation.  When I called back, I got an answering machine.  The recording said I had reached Mark Watson from the Internal Revenue Service and to leave a message.

And don't forget to report this to the real IRS also!

If you get a call from this number 206-436-4708 claiming you owe before IRS money because you send money via Western Union and if you dont pay, they will come and arrest you. Also, they will threaten you to have deported if you are a foreigner. DONT FALL FOR IT.  Please call your immediate police station and file a report.

I received the same call they had heavy accents and we're asking of my mother saying she had an arrest warrant out for her scared the crap out of I'm glad it was just a crank BS call be careful I'm sure they are looking for money

I just got this same call asking for my mother they had accents & said there was a arrest  warrant for her from the IRS I'll be honest it scared the crap out of me I'm glad it was just a scam you can't take mommy away from me

i recive the same call today...they told me like if i dnt pay 1500$ the IRS will come and arrest me within 30 minutes or they can even deport me.

They harasse us. They said that they are from IRS and what should we do?

This is a scam that was reported on my local CBS network last week.

I got a call from this number they are posing as "The Internal Revenue Services" and they are a scam. I have reported
them to the IRS and the landline carrier, Integra Telecom, who told me this is not a valid number for them in the WA
state area, so they are covering up their phone number from another country. I have been calling this number non stop to harrass them out of business. Try it! Hit *67 then dial 1-206-436-4708 and wait for them to answer and just talk to them, because if their time is taken up, they can't be scamming. Star 67 before a number blocks your number from being read.
When their aswering system picks up, I put the phone by the CD player and play rock and roll to them for about 3-5 minutes!
Hey it uses up their space! the more of us who do this, maybe they will have to close up shop. who knows.
