These people are threatening to come to my work, home, put a lien on my house for something  don't owe...I called the original company that they supposedly have a summons for....they said I don't owe anything....what out for jerks like these people.

This morning I received a call and my husband picked up. They asked for me and my husband said she isn't here. They told him this is the lawyers office and we our calling to collect a debt. My husband asked what is this in regards to? They wouldn't tell him they just gave him a number to call to get more info when he asked to speak to the lawyer "Rosenberg" they told him he was on vacation. We call the number and they tell us if we don't pay by 2 pm today they will come to our apt and seize our belongings and lock us out. They also told my husband they spoke to me recently and our landlord. I have never spoken to anyone and neither did our landlord. They gave us a case number and a doc number so we called a another number that could give us more info with the doc number the guy told us my name and the doc number weren't coming up. So we called the number back and we some to another person he asked for our case number he told us there were no case numbers than we gave him my name. After that he talked down to us and treated us horribly. He wasn't trying to help or give us any info. We called our lawyer and told us this is all a scare tactic. My question is how can a company get away with this??? They ruin your whole day with this nonsense and have no sympathy. How do they sleep at night? How could u do this to people who are trying their best to keep their head above water in this crazy economy? I wish something could be done!!!

I received a call from a woman stating she was a officer and wanted to confirm an appointment scheduled for assess my property. I did not understand what that appointment was about so i asked what property was being assessed. She very rude and stated if i had any questions to call 212-643-9999. She said that was the number to the lawyer handling the case and provided me a case number. As i was call the number i decided to google the phone number to only realize that they are a scam.

DL recovery are crooks they take your money and only pay part of it to your creditors they have also change their phone number and name. They are now called International Finance Group the number is 212- 643- 9999 see if you can get you can get them to talk to you.

not so lucky, I bet you work for DL Recovery as a plant.  People, don't buy this b***s***.  They are using illegal tactics to try to collect hyperinflated debt amounts.  Check with the sheriffs office in your town to see if a judgment is made against you, don't just take a debt collector's word for it, it's a SCAM!

I had the same stuff happen to me today. phone call told he was a cop call the 212-779-2006 or we will come arrest you. I reported to the county sherrif what happened he said that he would call and talk about phone harrassmnet the guy called me back said that because of my criminal record police dont care and that he will be to see me and my children tonight? what should I do

It is possible to have something repossessed ... if you had an agreement to purchase something for example living room furniture, then you stop paying sure a company can repossess the living room furniture listed on the contracted but they CANNOT come in your home and take your bedroom set and all your electronics (as these people seem to threaten). They told one woman because she owed on so pots and pans they were coming to remove ALL the contents of her home she was in ... the man said they would remove everyone's belongings.
Also you do not have to let anyone in your home ... they must have a local Sheriff. Which also have there right to verify.
Even a socalled out of state court order has to be served by your local Sheriff. Out of state law enforcement has to right to be at your door.

I got the same phone call except that i wasnt as lucky when i called back to have my case gone... being a skeptical I also thought it was a scam turns out repossession did occur, unfortunately i didnt take care of my problem in time.

I got a call at 2:30 from a private number the man said he was from the sheriffs office and would be at my house by 3:30 at 5:20 he called back said the truck broke down and they would be at my house by 7 pm and said I hope you have your stuff packed Maam. And still no truck .... what a bunch of retards. so I call the number 212-779-2006 every hour or two and the man says his name is Michael Cortez and for me to stop harassing him. I'm bothering him, LOL. I told him all has to do is give me his real name and I'll stop calling. I told this guy I went to the sheriff's office (and I did to see what i could do and of course they have no record of ANYTHING, but suggested a few things) .... so I told him I would like this REAL name and place of EMPLOYMENT ... his response was "what does that have to do with anything?" ... I said maybe you are some creepy guy that got a hold of some names and numbers in the trash and your sitting in your mom's basement in NY messing with people.  
He said the lawyer that has my case is Bob Manchester and he will be back from vacation on Feb. 9th 2009.
The Sheriff's office suggested that I record the calls ... he said when they call hit memo on my cell phone or use some type of recording device and answer the phone "all calls to this number are recorded" ... and ask for a name don't say anything else no matter what they say just keep asking for a name and a phone number of who you can contact to call. It is a crime to pretend to be a law officer and/or threaten or intimidate. Keep a log of the date and time of when they call you, and note when and if you call the number they give you, make notes of what was said and record every call you can. If you call them you can use *67 call your carrier to make sure *67 is included in your service plan home or cell.

Even if you owe Jim's Jewelery's $5000.00 there are legal ways for companies to go about solving the matter. They can't call you and say I'll be there in two hours to take all your Electronics or Household Items, besides if you live with anyone else all the items in your home are not yours. I you have to let them in, they will come with a couple of uniformed cops and a court order.  If somebody does come and they don't have that, tell them to get bent.

She said she was Phoenix Police offier and she had a summonds of extraction. Gave me a case number and told me to call 212 779 2006. After she gave me all of the information I asked her name again and she blerted out a name I could not distiguish and hung up... What is this all about?
