I received 3 calls TODAY 5/27/14 from "RYAN GIBSON." He left a voice mail stating that there was a lawsuit against me for not filing my 2010 taxes. According to this guy there was a detective taking care of my case and I was already being tracked to be picked up and I was going to be put in jail. I advised him I have never received information about me owing anything to the IRS, and from that year to present things had changed in my life. I requested for him to give me the address all the documentation was being sent to. He declined, laughed and stated "You don't know your home address?" I advised him to verify all the information he had on me and stated he did not have to do that because it was too late. This RYAN GIBSON had a really Indian accent, and when questioned he would hang up. I got tired of him hanging up, I called later this afternoon and his response was "Why are you calling me, what do you want!" I was surprised and scared at the same time.

Received call stating that I owed the IRS for back taxes in the amount of $1,245.00  for the year of 2008...Caller could not speak proper English and was very hard to understand...Said  there's a warrant out for my arrest if these taxes were not paid on the phone immediately...I knew this was a scam, because all taxes were paid in full....this happened May 22...ashamed how this is upsetting hard working people....

I got 2 calls in a row from "David Walker." Same deal as described by folks above. Ending with wishes for "a blessed day" and "God bless," really authenticating things. Right. Reported to Fed Trade Commission -- thank you, Alfalfa for the link.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Same guy keeps leaving messages on my phone for my spouse. Won't be calling back. Heavy Middle Eastern accent. Same thing. Daniel. Have a blessed day. Hopes I do the 'right thing' and call him back before I find myself in a big 'legal mess'. Scam alert big time. I hope for his sake he doesn't call again.

This David guy keeps calling and threatening me to get an attorney had me scared to death all day couldn't ever get anyone to pick up when I called back!

same call.  last night and then this morning.  left 2 messages about legal action.  i called and asked who i am speaking with and he said 'daniel'  i said ok, but what is the company? he said legal enforcement of US Treasury, barely spoke english.  ok!

i asked what was this about and why do i need an attorney, he asked, "you dont remember?"..... i said about what?  he said taxes from 2008... i asked, what about them? ...again...."you dont remember?"   i asked to speak to a supervisor so i know the phone call is real.  ... phone went silent, finally he said i can speak to him.    he said he will send a detective to my address in 30 min and then we can talk.  i said, ok what address are you going to send him to.... Daniel then asked the genius question, "you dont remember?"    i said, "what?".  classic.   hung up.              hate this stuff.  

I recieved 5 calls from this number this morning .. Telling me it was the US Treasury Dept .. Then when I hung up on them they called back and told me I have had legal action being brought against me .. I told them to stop calling me and they called me 3 more times and i just hung up on them .. am now calling the Police to report this to our local law inforcement ..

Just got the same call and he told me I owe back taxes from 2008. Every time I asked a question he would get quiet and not say anything until I asked if he was still there. He tried to mumble and not complete his sentences until I called him on it and asked to speak to his supervisor. Then he hung up in my ear. I called back and he immediadlty said yes Shannon. Wtf!!!!! I told him it was a scam because no one from the irs would Hang up on someone because they wanted to speak to a supervisor. Told him I was calling the irs and asking personally so he hung up and won't answer my call backs. Lol. Stupid people

These people have been calling my phone many times per day for the last five days. Constant threats of legal action, advised me this morning to call back with my retained attorney on the line to prevent me from getting in serious trouble with the department of legal affairs, there will be no more calls after this one; I am now being turned over for legal action. I could barely understand the Indian accent, had to listen to it four times and then, at the very end of the message, he wished me a blessed day... Because that's what all government employees do who threaten legal action against you over the phone, wish you to have a blessed day!!! Sounds like quite the scam to me and I'll be reporting it not only to the FCC, but since I'm in law enforcement, quite a few other offices as well.

I have received this call many times over the last month.  Same person, same BS line but his name changes.  I strongly suggest that you simply answer the phone and speak only the words butt plug.  No matter what he says, simply continue to reply with butt plug.  If he asks you to spell it, do so very slowly.  But you can only answer butt plug or spell butt plug.  He eventually swears at me and hangs up.  If enough people do this, maybe they will stop.

Just got this call from someone named David Walker supposedly from the Dept of Legal Affairs about a pending lawsuit that I or my legal attorney needs to respond to. WTF is this?

Just got a call from "Jimmy Jones" and said he was a paralegal that is starting legal action on my husband. I asked him from what country, since he has a middle eastern accent, and he said the U.S.. I told him bull$#!+. He told me I would have to speak to his supervisors and when asked to connect me to one, he told me no! And proceeded to cuss me out!! Friggin  POS.  I am so sick of these scammers!!

Alicia Rosario called my home today, looking for my grown son. I asked her what it is about and she said a legal
treasury matter..........gave the number to my son who is calling her, but he suspected a scam. He will call later to advise me, but now I see the name ALICIA ROSARIO...........beware!!

a broadcast news people, he call the wrong person i will be dead in their butt!

got the same call for "alicia rosario" which is an italian name, yet she sounds middle eastern and could not talk correct english plus you can tell she is reading from a card of data like being coached.  this is a total scam for information.  the dept of legal affairs is in washington dc, not los angelos, if the got dept of such wanted you, they will write you formal letters in the mail not call you personally.  i can't stand people like this, i think they should be punished by the FCC for abusing privacy laws!!!  shame on them all.  i hope this helps everyone else.
