Telemarketer
Here's the answer to all our prayers.  I found this on a site I posted a telemarketer's number at.  I tried it and it WORKS!  I put the tones at the beginning of my phone  greeting about three months ago and in the last three weeks have had "ZERO" calls.  Whover posted that "THANK YOU, THANKI YOU".   Here's what I found:

Telemarketers almost exclusively use autodialers to make their calls.  One out of a thousand will have live reps doing the dialing.  When these dialers connect (you  answer the phone) they first listen for any tones generated.  If no tones are detected they then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center.  If the autodialer  hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number that was just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list.  Below is a link that has  this tone plus the verbal message.  You DO NOT need the verbal message.  Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop.  Create or  change the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available.  At the VERY BEGINNING of your message place the 3 tones (NOT THE VOICE  MESSAGE) then continue with your usual or normal greeting.  The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number will be removed since they think it's a  disconnected number.  DONE.  In a few weeks you will be removed from all or most of the lists.  Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO  want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff.  Pass this info on to anyone you know that gets junk calls or even help post this on these websites.  If you continue  getting calls after reading this, it's your "OWN" fault!  END JUNK CALLS.

It is a call from Santander.  They call all the time as soon as your a few days late on your payment. I had my loan through Citi until Santander took over there auto loans. Citi was much better to deal with.

They don't care about anything but getting your money.  I explained to them that my van's engine needs to be replaced (yet again!), and that I was going to have to get another car, and won't be able to make two car payments.  After explaining this to them, they offered that I pay half now and get caught up next month.  Don't know why they offered that, seeing as I can no longer afford the payment, on a van that I can't use!!

If they are calling your cell phone, you can usually add them to a spam list and the number will be blocked from calling.  If you are getting automated or recorded messages to your cell phone, you can enter into a class action lawsuit by texting LOAN to 87888 which is the Sokolav law firm.

Those retards from Santander called me on my cell and home numbers about some girl I have never heard of. They keep calling. Next time I travel and can find any office they have, I will go in and spit in their faces. I got all kinds of fun I want to have with those dumb f****!

I have never in my life been associated with these people. They dont even speak when I have picked up! They are starting to really piss me off.
Every number everyone has listed here is now on my block list for my cell phone. There was a new one today 888-781-6964. The NINTH!!! number. There has to be some law against this.

Also cite the FDCPA (Federal Debt Collection PRactces Act) Rules (see my post above).  If you tell a debt collector to take your number out of the dialer, by law, they have to do it.  They can send you mail via USPS, but not call you anymore.

They bought GEMB Lending also, and they have a collection center in North Central Texas which is why you see the 214 and 469 area codes

If you are getting multiple calls from creditors be aware that you are protected from harrassment under the FDCPA rules.  That's the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act.  Get educated on it and cite it to debt collectors.  By that law they are not allowed to call again in a day if they have talked to you.  They have certain hours that that can not call in and each state is different.  I don't think they can call at all on Sundays in Texas.  You can sue the dickens out of a collector for breaking this rule.

They called me at work and asked, in Spanish, for someone else. I told them in English that they had the wrong number--probably a good thing I picked English, so they don't think I'm actually the person they're after. I'm guessing someone gave them my work number as a fake--yikes.

Hi to all of you.  I saw an ad on TV about Santander calling all the time.  There is now a class action lawsuit developing against them.  Call Sokolove Law 866-444-9876.  IF you want to text them do this: text LOAN to 87888 and follow their prompts.  Good luck!

Hey everyone, I found a solution to dealing with all the harassing calls. It is simple and effective. It will do the trick every time. When you get a call, do not hang up or do not just ignore the call. Here is the trick and it annoys them, trust me. If you have a land line phone, just pick up the phone receiver an lay it down. Do not say anything. If you have your TV or radio on, place the receiver near the TV and radio. If you want to annoy them even more, turn up your TV or the radio very loud. And if you are away from the TV or radio just lay the phone receiver down, without saying anything. If you have a cell phone, just hit your answer button and lay the phone down. A friend also tells me, he hit his answer button on his cell phone but just pretends like he has a cold and cough in the phone or he goes in the bathroom and flushes the toilet while holding the phone close to the toilet so the person hears the toilet as it flushes. I have tried these things and it appears that the calls have gone down.

This is one of the 23 phone numbers I currently have stored in my phone from Santander. they call starting the 2nd business day after your due date, so you get harrassed if you aren't even 2 days past due.....10 times a day from multiple numbers, including multiple voicemails.  I have submitted dozens of FTC complaints.  You can send a Cease and Desist letter, but I would rather document their harassment and sue them.

For those wanting to know how to block, if you have a Droid cell they are calling you can get Mr. Number call blocker-I use that one. And every time they call I block the number, so I have about 6-7 numbers of theirs blocked. It will also give you a list of the dates and times each  blocked number called. I get about 8 calls a day from them from a few different numbers and I am only 2 days late-AND I called to tell them I would be to which they replied "Well, we wil note that file but that won't stop the calls" WTF? My loan matures this month and they won't get back to me about what I need to do since I can't afford to pay  it off because apparently when they bought my loan from Citifinancial my loan term changed WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and that leaves me  about $4000 upsided down. As much as I will be glad to not have a car payment, in a way I want to get another car JUST to get out from under Santandar. They are the scum of the earth.
