Calling this number back I received an automated response saying they are the Purple Heart Foundation.

I received four phone calls in twenty minutes from this number.  I would NEVER contribute money to a solicitor who would harrass me at my home like this!

This # keeps calling us. When we pick up the line either goes dead or there is a long pause until someone talks on the other line.

Receiving calls about 6pm. I do not answer and they do not leave a message.

I get calls from this number a few times a week, sometimes daily, but NEVER when I'm at home.  If I am out of town for a few days, there is a daily message that just sounds like wind noise.  If I am in town, but leave the house for a few hours, I will come home to one of the messages.
The first time I tried calling them back, it would not ring or do anything.  I just tried again and got a message saying they were experiencing technical difficulties.

HOW CAN THIS BE A LOCAL WHEN RECEIVED IN THE 412/724 AREA CODE?

It's a fund raiser for the Purple Heart foundation.

I got the call, it stating that it was a local call, but the man on the other side from the purple heart as he claimed.  He claimed he was calling from Wisconsin, but the call came from philly, PA.  When I called back from another phone a while later, I got a message to call a 1-800 number and that they ensured they were a legit program...

A lot of research suggests otherwise.

I have been getting the same calls almost every evening around 6 PM. I do not answer and they do not leave a message. I think it is a Telebegger

I also get random calls from this number but do not answer to see if they leave a message. They do not. Latest call was today at 11:46 AM EST When I called back got recorded message from the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
This is a legitimate charity but the solicitation phone number may not be. If you answer and they request a donation via credit card it may be a scam.
I always inform solicitors from non-profits that I "do not contribute to any organization that solicits by phone" if they want my money they must send me info by via USPS since they will be committing Postal Fraud if they send me bogus info or are not registered to solicit in my state.

Annoying phone call every night from this number.
