I just read this and were in the same situation but will not refund us! Did you get that money put back on your cars from them if so how long did it take and did they send a confirmation letter or email stating it was cancelled??? They are very hard to deal with and even hang up on us cause we want something for our bank to prove we cancelled and want that refund that we even didn't know about the charge  till I seen it on my card!!!

Complete scam! They charged a family member $500 to reduce the interest rate on a credit card...something the bank would do for free if you take a different card package.

The phone number they used links to a company in Las Vegas. Here are the two related web sites:  http://billsdebt.net and http://mycardsservices.com/
I called the company and they actually answer. I cancelled the request...and had a few choice words for them.
My family member put a notification on her credit card in case something unusual goes through.

    This is the fourth time I got the same "second and final notice, urgent" recorded message and
this time I  let  it play out instead of hanging up. After 10 rings he said thanks for responding. And
when I said what's this credit card call all about? I don't have a credit card, he hung up.
    I called back and got "no service at this number" message.
   I found out the call was made on a Telus landline, in Siomous, BC, postal code V0E ---

Ils me parle toujours de cartes de crédits, aujourd'hui le no. était le 250-499-8851 j'ai laissé sonner et ouvert le récepteur sans dire un mot et ça r'accroché. Il ne faut jamais appuyer sur une touche qu'il demande car vous leur donnerez un oui et vous allez recevoir une belle facture à payer...attention

did call the real number (1-888-796-9619) today and told them I dont want to receive anymore of those calls and that it is illegal here in Canada. The answear was polite and saying that I will not receive any more calls from them....  hopefully it is the truth....

they called me today January 2, 2013 and they said that they are calling from visa and they want offer me a low interest on my visa card and they asked me to confirm my visa number and I refused and hanged up

Jai recu cet appel aujourd'hui aussi. J'ai demandé le nom de la compagnie: Cod Services ou quelque chose du genre. J'ai demandé le nom de l'agent et tout de suite dit que je vais enregister une plainte au LNNTE et CRTC. Il m'a soudainement souhaité une belle journée et m'a raccroché au nez.

Je reçois au moins 1 à 2 fois par mois un appel de ce numéro.  Je raccroche tout le temps... mais je suis contente de savoir qu'il y a un numéro ou je peux appeler pour leur demander d'enlever mon no de leur liste. Je saurai quoi faire la prochaine fois!

Wait until you are talking to a real human, not a machine. Ask that person to wait a second while you get your glasses ( for example). Don't hang up the phone and just leave the telemarketer waiting for you to come back and speak to them again. They will sometimes wait for several minutes before they hang up. I was actually turned on to this idea by someone who once worked as a telemarketer. They told me that it was the most frusterating thing that could happen to them and it threw their bosses into a fit of rage.

That is what I do everytime this number calls me as soon as I hear the automated voice I put the phone down because obviously it is a scam I dont even use visa or mastercard lol they are persistent and keep calling me back tho.

I looked up on the internet... These guys are calling from washington dc...and the number is 509-443-3036...
i just called them told name not to call my number

Try this if you get the chance. When someone like this calls, ask them to hold on a minute and just put the phone down and continue with what ever you were doing. Now your waisting their time and it's very unlikely that they'll call again. Time is money!!

I received another call from these people. Same old thing. Lower interest rates on your credit cards. To boot it was a pre-recorded message ~ please press 1. I don't think so. The do not call system does not work for these people. Check "TheDoubleO" 's comment & follow through with it. I'm going to try and see if it stops the calls.

At 3:27 pm PST on Dec 29 my phone rang and the number 250-499-8851 was on my call display.

I answered my phone and began listening to a recorded message about reducing the interest rate on my credit card.  

I recorded this message and will forward it to the folks who administer Canada's Do-Not-Call List.  My phone number has been on this list for more than 2 years.

I have gotten frequent calls from this number - as above - offering better credit rates, telling me it's my second and final notice! Ha! if only it was.

I emailed crtc and they are totally useless.  They told the best they do shut down all long distance calls.  I wonder if any of those people would like to have no long distance education calls ago home.  DOH.

I have had calls fron these people in the past, the only way to treat them is to be just like them,
Ask all kinds of stupid questions and they will get flusterd and hang up on you and never call you again.

Received call from this number 1-250-499-8851: It was a recording. Asked to press 1, I did as it was a very important call from credit card company (how could I not take it). Anyways after pressing 1 the live person answered the call. When I asked who to identify him just hunged up.....

Thanks for sharing this information. It helped provide some details. Submitted a report to the CRTC. Not that I think it will do any good. The CRTC has to start forcing our telecom providers to provide FREE blocking services to any phone number or partial number. This is a complete scam that the telecoms do nothing to really stop aggressive scamming telemarketers.

j ai aussi reçu un appel m offrant un taux réduit d interet pour carte de crédit.. j ai raccrocher immediatement-ils appelles environ 1 fois par mois.j'aiappelé au no. 1-888-796-9619  et aviser la personne de ne plus appeler et que c' était du harcellement , il  à dit que je ne reçevrais plus d' appel et que mon no. de tél. serait enlevé de leur liste d'appel et ils s'est excusé pour le dérangement. Il s'agit d'une compagnie de telemarketting aux  usa.

Fourth call this week telling me it's my last chance to get a better rate on my credit card debt! (which I don't have!) I called 1-888-796-9619 (Bills Debt Services in Nevada)  and told them to stop calling and that I was reporting them. He arrogantly said go ahead and report the number shown on my call display. Obviously he knew the number they were displaying was phoney.
