Some prerecorded mass call thing to do with Zellers. Asked to press 3 if you're interested. Hung up and blocked the number.

I received a call like this a friend had recently been shopping at Walmart, Zellers etc and had entered my name and I had won a trip to Costa Rica.  

I'm in the Toronto Area...and my phone number is already on the Do Not Call list!!!

These dingbats also have been phoning me for 6 months now with the same Cancun crap. I live in Winnipeg and don't subscribe to caller ID so foreknowledge of the call is not possible. I traced their number to Michigan, called the number using *67 and received a recorded message asking if I wanted to accept their offer or be removed from their call list.

Like with email spam, responding can set you up for even more harrassment because they now know their advertising campaign has reached you! So, I decided to hang up without pressing anything.

They get your number from either a bulk list or the dialing program is set up to dial random numbers in a specified area code. I am going to look into getting a one time purchase device which blocks out any number you program into it. The local telephone company doesn't offer this service at this time - unfortunately.

Walked in the door last night, phone ringing from this number.  As always, I predict this is a scam.  I have a new car and therefore I do not need a new warranty.  These people and types of calls absolutely drive me nuts!

I've been receiving calls from this number several times a month for the past 6 months, with the latest one at 6:46 PM PST this evening.  Since I've alway been out when they call and do not have a machine, I had no idea who it was or what they were "selling" - glad to see I am not alone (well, sort of!).

i live in vancouver.  they called today at 5:50 pm and the other day from 1-269-768-2000.  machine picked up. no message left.

i am just wondering IF this really is a walmart or zellers initiated phone call and IF we should be contacting those companies to tell them to stop cold calling like this.

Got a call from this number about a credit card. Hung up.

I just got an automated call from 269-768-2014 telling me I had won a draw held at Zellers. Beware it is a scam.

numerous calls no message is ever left

Got a call from this number at 4:17 this afternoon, while I was at work. They didn't leave a message. Reported the number to Primus.

Number said Michigan. I live on Vancouver Island.
Message left on my machine stated that a family member or friend had entered my name into a contest for $2600 towards a Cancun vacation, with unlimited drinks, yadda yadda yadda. If I pressed one, I would get a second Cancun vacation to give to a friend.
Who are these nutters and how did they get my number?

Got repeated calls first from 1-866-512-7541 then, a call from 1-269-768-2014 to say I won an exclusive package after shopping at walmart, target and some other place. It said to press one to accept my package and tickets are available for pick up at the resort out of the country. Not sure how this is when I do not shop at these places.

To stop this hopefully, my service provider Primus Canada has what they call a 'TELEMARKETING GUARD', a free service to stop unwanted telemarketing calls. *46 turns it on and screens calls from frequent mass telemarketers. *44 is an option to create a peronal list of calls to 'deny' or 'allow'. Never used this until now. Hopefully this works.

Like Patricia, someone from this number called. No message left. I too, don't answer it if it's not familiar. It's from Bellevue, Michigan.

I always look up a call from a number I don't recognize.  This was one of them.  I didn't answer.  No name or message was left on my machine.

Requested that i press an option to activate my extended warranty coverange on my car--that my response would forfiet my coverage.
