Got the same call 2 days ago. I have an HSBC card so I hung up when it said to press 1 (b/c I'm not stupid) and called HSBC. Wasted 30 minutes of my life to find out they never called, but did get into a better savings account while I was at it lol.

Getting text messages from this number about a frozen account originating from NYC # 9174971794. Spam!
| Patty Miller 2011-11-07 19:35:43 Unknown |
Hi, I got the same message regarding frozen H5BC account being frozen. When you call the number they ask for your account number and PIN number. I hung up and called HSBC. This is a scam and the bank knows about it. They did take both phone numbers that appeared on my text message. The bank said they would never send out a text regarding any account.
My last name is Miller too....it looks like they are hitting the Miller's! Ha!!

Received same message. Very concerning none the less. I have a MC but not through HSBC to the best of my knowledge, unless they own my bank. It seems like a scam, but none the less it's not what you want to see when your bank is closed on a Saturday night and you can't call to verify.

got a similar text - (9178169999)cust0mer issue: frozen H5BC SXYT. please call at (302)-7246361 msg#
just deleted it - I did just register with best buy to buy something on line but ended up not purchasing anything so maybe that's where it originated. The call came from 917-816-9999.

I received a text message on my cell phone from 917-619-7143 asking me to call this number:
"cust0mer issue: frozen H5BC FLAL. please call at (302)-7246361 msg#"

My wife got it, then 10 min later I got it. Her number ends 9889, mine 9898. Same Area code and Same prefix. So it makes sense that this is a SCAM PHISHERman.
