Get a call ever couple hours on cell phone.  Would like to know who is calling?

Received a call from this number and my CALLER ID clearly says 'DEBT COLL SCAM'. They left a msg to call another number.  Bottom line is if you owe anyone, contact them directly to make payment. DO NOT call this number back!!

Not a scam. Verizon Financial Services trying to collect past due funds owed to them.

This number needs to be blocked. It is NOT Verizon. It's a scam, and Verizon has been notified. Just call Verizon's true number and let them know about this. I did.

Scam! scam! they said I had a past due balance on my business phone, I told them my husband would handle it as soon I could get ahold of him, they said if I gave them my banking info they would hold on the shut off until they heard from him! scam! scam! scam! verizon would never do that and our bill was already paid!

it just said to call them back. Gave a prop to call back. Need to also give ether a reference number of my phone number.

Got a call from this # today. Claims to be from Comcast cable and that I owe money. A recorded call. Since I pay in advance I just listened. Of course jerkwads gave me opportunity to give bank or card info. I just hung up.

Download an app called "Current Caller ID" it gives you anyone who calls, yes sometimes it will list the number as unknown or private but generally speaking it tells you. I have received COUNTLESS amount of calls from this number, I was pass due on a bill paid it and got a call from this and it pops up with the name "Debt Coll. Scam" again download current caller I'D

330 840 2640 IS VERIZON WIRELESS FINANCIAL SERVICES

This number came up as "Debt Coll Scam" in Twinsburg, OH for me too. My voicemail was full so they couldn't leave a message.

Verizon wireless computer voice saying they are trying to get in touch with someone (foreign name the computer can't even pronounce).  I don't have a Verizon acct.  I'm stumped as to how they are calling a cell phone about a cell phone acct, yet they have the wrong number?  

It's a scam. Stay away!!

And by the way, the 800-745-0961 IS NOT verizon either, I enquired about that number also because I couldn't remember if the voice mail said 0951 or 0961.
Terry, I sure hope you didnt give them any passwords or access to your account. The (real) girl from verizon said one scam is to get into your account and change your plans, features, etc. You better keep an eye on it.

I guess some people have a really boring life or just plain jerks! to do this to somebody else. Really??? get a legit life scammers!!

THIS IS A SCAM. ANYONE WHO SAYS IT IS FROM VERIZON EITHER FELL FOR THE SCAM OR DOESNT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH VERIZON, AFTER RECEIVING A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER THIS MORNING. I DIDNT ANSWER THE CALL AND THEY LEFT WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A LEGITIMATE VOICE MESSAGE FROM VERIZON, THEY EVEN SAID MY FULL NAME AND SAID TO CALL THEM BACK AT 800-745-0951. I CALLED VERIZON BACK ON THEIR *611 NUMBER AND THEY SAID IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FROM THEM AND THAT 800 NUMBER IS NOT THEIRS EITHER. IF IN DOUBT ABOUT A CALL THAT SAYS ITS FROM VERIZON, JUST CALL THEM ON THEIR *611 NUMBER AND ASK BEFORE YOU GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO.

I called and talked to billing. Error on their part. They were trying to bill me for a contract I don't have. I paid full price for my Verizon enhanced Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet so I don't have a contract. The thing is I am not supposed to be billed because I am month to month. They were very nice about it and are working with me to straighten things out so I am not billed for lack of use as I was told by my salesperson at the Verizon store.

Got calls from this number a couple of times each day for the past few weeks. I don't have any past due payment, my bills pay automatically each month. So I picked up just once, it (a machine voice) claims to be VZ wireless and asked me if I were "xxx xxx" who I don't know, then gave me choice to press 2 if I'm not, after I did that .. it asked me to stay online to wait for a rep. .. after a couple of mins, a real person speaks .. she asks for my name, I asked why this number keep calling me, then she asked for my number, I thought if she is gona take me off from a calling list, there is no harm telling her.. after that, the signal dropped.

Caller ID shows up as "DEBT COLL SCAM". The automated message tells you that there is an overdue Verizon Wireless bill.

I didn't answer but I'm glad I checked this site because as it turns out, my Verizon bill was past due by over a month! Scammers or not, check your bill.

Got a call from this number...recording only...I don't listen to recordings and have a blocked number for scam/spammers.  Done.

These people pose as debt collectors. They have nothing to do with Verizon. They are really identity thieves. While the number comes up as a cell phone in Ohio, it is likely a VOIP (internet) source that could originate from anywhere in the world. DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS. DO NOT RETURN THESE CALLS.

Unwanted phone calls from unidentified number asking for account information.

Perhaps true.  I was logged into my Verizon account and in the process of paying my bill when the call came through.  I didn't take it.

Just got my new phone 5s and got a call from them. no message and I do not answer unknown calls.

Oddly, out of not being in best frame of mind today, called back.  (Whoever or whatever picked up was extremely garbled;  about the same as when you lose your connection??)

Does anyone know who this might be??  Whoever it is, is really verging on harrassment.  How many times a day are they going to continue calling?
