Wow ! I almost believed this, but I did what most of you did. I reverse checked all of the info & came up with nothing that matched. The e-mail is exacttly the same; word for word.

Ben Johnson of Johnson & Sons in emailed with a request for quote, then said he wanted to order and give full prepayment - except for shipping of course.  shipping to some South African Address via "crossover shipping"  Both email addresses were yahoo and gmal - NOT a company name, so I got suspicious.

Thanks so much for these posts - it helped me to confirm what I suspected.

This is a scam.

Just got a message from Dan Davis Brother and they gave an address in Hamilton Ohio. Checked the address and it comes back a church. IS this guy a fraud?

Just turned up as Thomas Holmes of the Holmes Brothers

Gave a church address in Hamilton OH  Then gave a government building address in Harrisburg PA.

Same scam using Crossover shipping.  Tries to get you to pay Crossover first and roll into your price.

Just pass on this guy.  Also used the number of (215) 550-4984

Didn't get us but watch out for this joker.

Gave name as Jeffrey Johnson from JJ Brother Inc in Hamilton OH with a phone # of 215-550-4984.  Wanted to order 30 Valves worth approx $6,750 and requested to ship via Crossover Shipping with a phone # of 336-233-5421.  Crossover Shipping quoted freight charges of $3,850 and demanded money up front. No D&B record for either company, no SOS record in OH for JJ Brothers Inc, and all correspondence between "Mr. Jeffery Johnson" and the freight company is through free email services.

Employees questioned this before we ordered any material so we dodged one this time.

If it smells fishy it probably is.

The address in Montpelier VT that he used is a tire store and they have been getting calls to verify who are the Holmes Brothers. The people at the tire store have never heard of them, but were very concerned that no one fall for the scam. It seems that these scammers have been busy!

Are you kidding me. This crap makes me laugh. I have been getting alot of these scam emails and I have to admit that he writes alot better than the rest but come on?! Today his name is Daniel Davis of Dandavis's Brothers, Inc. and he put the address at a Tire svc company. Get a JOB!

Now he's going by the name of Jeffrey Johnson (J. J Brothers, Inc) in Montpelier, VT.  The address he gave me is a paint store that has never heard of him.  He never said where the beads would end up, just that he wanted to pick them up.

1/20/2010    THis scam artist email us a RFQ on a large $ stainless washer.. very much a special.. when emailed back asking what the end use was he stated just quote me and then we'll talk.  one time he is Fred COok & SOns  , next time he is Peter COok and SON.  DId not get me because we googled his phone and saw all these postings..

They're undocumented immigrants from Uganda. They just haven't crossed our borders yet. But when they do we'll show them!  We'll give them free social security pensions and free healthcare.  That will show them they can't mess with the USsrA!

This guy who goes as Peter Cook is a retard in my book.

He emails our company website, which sells precious metals and asked for Stainless Steel Washers.  Of course we can make it, but our niche is precious.  We found this scam out right away when my colleague found something about the shipping address under a similar site like this.  Turns out these guys have been doing this over 10 years.  I toyed with the joker long enough to get some credit card numbers from him.  I took the credit card numbers and called the company to report the fraud.  In the mean time, sent his emails to the International Fraud Department.  This guy didn't pull one over me or our company.  Someone needs to send this guy something to get him back.

Maybe a exploding paintbomb or a fart in a jar or better yet, a real bomb.

E-mailed Multiple times, looking for large quantities and didn't seem concerned about the cost. He would not produce info about himself until last response. Then googled his phone # and found this info. ALL SEEMS to match.   He goes by David Kelson, 6300 Carmel Rd. Charlett N.C.

hello this is Mr Peter Cook and not on my dicks now so when you call me u will not reach me now so just mail me with the price on what i requested and hope you get me a quote from here

I received this number per email for David Kelson, 6300 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.  When I ran the address it was a lawyers office.  I've delt with enough of these guys I can usually pickup on them really quickly.  However this guys written English is really good.

Peter Cook/aka Bill Jones/new aka Dallas Eastwood.  He's at it again.  Our company recd the first one 3-30-09 under Peter Cook and now today under Dallas Eastwood.

He also goes by the name Bill Jones Inc. and is a crook.  This time he wanted 50 banners and for me to pay the shipping cost of $3500.00 to Africa. The actual cost to ship should run only about$450.00, but he wasn't concerned with a lower shipping cost at all, just that he wanted to use HIS shipping company.  He's a fraud!

He is a complete fraud.  This "Peter Cook" character places an order for flyers that need to deliver to South Africa.  Then he asks you to quote freight through his preferred freight vendor.  He will give you credit card numbers to pay in advance,  and will request that you, the printer, pay the freight via wire transfer (since the freight company conveniently cannot accept credit cards).  You produce the product, you pay for freight in advance via the wire transfer anf the frieght pick up is never made.  "Cook" then calls the credit card company and has them refund the amount since the delivery of product was never made.  So you lose out on the cost of producing the product and the amount of the wire transfer to the freight company.  He almost got me, but luckily I had a discussion with my CFO - he made me aware of the scam.
