Keep getting nasty messages from "Marcia" that we have an overdue bill.  When I returned the call it just went to a recording and I said I had not received any bills fro YP Online and did not remember signing up for this service and left my fax number to fax an invoice. The next day I get a faxed invoice from YP online for $940 ($140 interest) the date was from April 2013.  The phone number on the invoice is 866-579-2031 and always comes as Unknown number and Unknown caller when they call.  The address on the invoice in 100 Walnut Street Ste. 302  Champlain, NY 12919.  I am so sick of these people calling and harassing and now threatening to turn this over to collections.

We also received a call from a guy named "Peter Gaylord" phone number 646-657-3088 asking for a $2,287.61 payment over due for a company named "Online Advantage" working for yellow pages, located in New York. He said that he had a recording of us requesting for advertisement but refused to let us hear it and added that he was going to take legal matters if the payment wasn't made. Called a second time, but this time threatening to send us to jail for 6 months if we didn't give him "his money". When we asked for company information he refused to give it to us. We called yellow pages to confirm such company "Online Advantage" was working for them and they said they don't work with other companies to collect payments for them and there was no balance due in our account.
Please be aware of this "Peter Gaylord" and his company so called "Online Advantage"
hint: Taking Advantage that is!!!!!!!

I just received a call from the above mentioned phone number.

The man identified himself as Peter Gaylord, said I made a verbal agreement with an automated system and neglected to pay the associated bills.  When I asked to hear the recording he raised his voice, said I'd heard the recording three times already. He threatened me numerous ways including a federal lawsuit.

I have reported him to the police department, the federal trade commission, and the state attorney general's office.

Have had the same thing happen to me since July.  He has called again today.  Threaten legal action.  I did report him to our Corporate Attorney.  She informed me to do nothing since this is scam.  I know it is a scam.  Address he gives on his invoice is a hotel in New York.   Name used with me is Brock Seaforth though.  Jerry Smith is the e-mail I received the invoice from.  Invoice dated back to 2011.  If you are reading this ... get lost!

I just got a call from this guy wanting $1000 for a YPO (Yellow Pages Online) bill from 2007. He started out pleasant then when he sensed pull back he became immediately aggressive and very rude. he said things like "I have a recording of you telling an 18 year old girl to go "F" herself." I actually grabbed a check and started to write it then did some checking and thinking.
So, "Jerry" if you're reading this....
1. I wouldn't sign up for this, nor would I agree to pay for something we already get for free.
2. A real professional wouldn't bring the F-bomb up, even if it were true. They say something like "We have a recording of you saying some disparaging things to one of our employees. Don't divulge what it is until I ask.
3. Only a desperate man would call back.
4. you never gave me any info like name, address, phone number. I'm using "Jerry" because another complaint did.
5. no credentials as far as being a collector, lawyer, etc..
6. I do give you some credit for being a doosh though. Good work! The problem is, I don't give money over the phone to dooshes.
7. You finished with "you have my number and no how to reach me?" I said no, then you hung up without giving it to me. Jeez "Jerry", what if I wanted to call you back with the money?
8. Don't be so quick to turn aggressive. I worked in customer service for years and noticed it was the super pushy aggressive ones that were always scamming, or trying to push buttons.
9. Referring to me as a "deadbeat who doesn't want to pay his bills" then failing to listen to me explain how I just needed more proof as to who I'm giving money too, is a direct indication of illegitimacy. If you'd have supplied something a little more concrete besides your verbal harassment, you could be $1000 richer right now.
10. thank you! Because of this I studied up on these kind of scams and now will never be manipulated by someone like you again.

Just trying to you helpful advice, doosh! (Sorry to call you that, I don't know your real name.)

Man calling himself Jerry Smith called saying Normandy Apartments had an unpaid YP ad amounting to about $2000 we needed to pay. He would not give any information about the ad except to say it was over a year ago (then said two years ago in February) and that they had send many invoices and called our onsite manager of the apartments and played a recording proving the ad was legitimate. He was extremely rude. I hung up on him twice and he hung up on me once. I went to our local police department and filed a report against him. The policeman called him and received the same rude, terrible responses. The "Jerry Smith" guy sent a recording to me and our onsite manager and threatened us with criminal action for fraud, telling us we will need to be in court on Friday in New York or be arrested.

I also do the accounting at our business, and have never heard of him, or the company. Never received any documents. This guy is a scam. I told him we don't have any outstanding invoices with him, and have never used their services and hang up. He immediatley calls back and I don't answer. This guy should be stopped. I hope that nobody falls for this guys scam!! If he calls again, I will report him to the authorities.
