Depends on which state you reside in.  Some states it's 4 years and others 6 years.  I think there are some states with no time limit.  Once you tell them not to contact you anymore they stop calling.

here is a little tip... before you enter into a credit card agreement and or loan. READ THE TERMS AND AGREEMENT... you have no problems using the credit but you complain about intrest u singed your name to??!! if you choose not to pay your debt for 3 years then yeah.... you also agreed to those fee's. if you dont want to pay the fee's pay your creditors as agreed in the original contract..... stop complaining about a scam people you know you owe it that's not a scam .... that's called a BILL

If I only had to pay back the $5000.00 plus $1500.00 interest then I would understand. People like you should hope that your economy dont ever suffer. But again who can garantee you that?

A lady called this morning asking for Alan Mesina?.  She hung up the phone as soon as I said it's the wrong #.

I had this man call me today asking for me and then i call them and they ask for someone else and asked me if I knew how to get hold of this person. I no and , I said ever call this house there will be trouble. The so called f****ng attorney hung up on me. I got news for you peoples these are fake a***s attorneys a true attoney first sends a letter that you are being sue they don't go around and calling people and harassing them.

This is a law firm that does pre legal collections.... meaning before there client files for judgement you get about 60 days w/them 1st. Then it goes to an attorney in your local area to file suit. I judgement is a public record that you will regret. Also depending on the laws in your state there are garnishments of payroll up to 25% and bank leins. Property leins depending on size of your balance. I find it funny when people dont believe me bc there not ready to deal w/there debt yet. After the 60 days they are served w/court summons then they call back to discuss the payment arrangement or settlement offer that is now off the table. Same person that cussed me out and told me flat broke always seem to find money real quick then. However its kind of funny to remember them telling me the famous debtor comment "do what you gotta do" HAHAHAHAHAH if you dont like the calls pay your debt before its a charge off. you had no problem spending it a***oles.

Received a phone call at my work and cell phone threaten to contact my HR department. After reading these responses decided not to call.

This number identified herself as an attorney, aka Ms. Caplin.  Looking for someone I don't know.  I have contacted other so called attorney offices in NY related to this issue.  I asked them to stop to no avail.  This has gone on for approx. 6 months now.

No, it's called extortion. Don't call back and don't answer when they call. They are using common scammer extortionist language, such as saying the debt is under your SS# and having your attorney call them. No legitimate debt collector will say those things.

Called me today and said they had a debt for me that was under my social security # and my previous last name. Told me I had until 5:00 today to call them back or have my attorney call them. Is this legal?

He sounded very aggressive and said he wanted so and so to be sure and call back. He said he was from the law firm of Collie and Bergman. He thought he was calling her cell ph,  it was a landline.
I just said not to call back she is an indigent and suing would be a waste of time and money. 5-9-12, 1pm et.

Received a call on my cell phone - asking for Blaine - don't know anyone by this name.  Told them this is the third agency that has contacted me and I wan't my number removed.  I was hung up on.  Called the number back and told them to remove my number and they were very rude and acted like I was the one doing something wrong.....

Getting sick of these People Calling My Phone # !!!! I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST !!!! Evadently These People aren't paying Attention to the "DO NOT CALL LIST" !!! I have reported them To the OOC !!!! I called AT&T  & they said that they do not give anyone's Phone # Out to anyone !!!!

Got a call from this number to my cell. A woman asked for 'Bill' which isn't my name. She said she was looking for 'Bill Whiting' and was given my number. Hey Bill, how about dealing with the collection agency yourself instead of giving out a stranger's phone number? Coward.

I have been getting phone calls from this number and another toll free 800 410 4622 is this number legit.  800-921-8660 Dorell Gilchrist at ext. 1019 I still have the message.  Also have spoken to a Ms Bryant and Ms. Grifith at ext. 1020 and they are suppose to be working on a settlement for me but I have called and a few times no answer today or Monday yesterday I spoke to a Mrs,Grifith and she said they had been real busy and that is the YThey also say they are an attorneys office.

I have received two calls from them, claiming to have one of my relative's name and social security number, demanding that the relative or their attorney contact them.  The identify themselves as attorneys.  One of the attorney names they give is Colley.  I plan to report them to the local sheriff because I am on a do not call list.  I have already told them I don't know the whereabouts of the person they are seeking, and consider the second phone call harassment, especially because of their threatening tone of voice.

They are a pain in the ...call after call looking for a Yemka,  people with our last name ,other names we never even knew.They say"{This is an important message for "that's when i hang up on them,almost everyday!How in the heck can we stop them?

Just got a message from them, saying they were from the law offices of whoever. They said my name perfectly (which is crazy because I have a hard last name) but then said MR instead of MISS so I was pretty sure they had no clue who the heck I am. It was pretty misleading, the message seemed like I was in some sort of legal trouble and it was important that I called them back today.
Anyhoo, thanks to google, I'm sure it's just some scammy collector trying to collect on something that isn't theirs.

This company just called my place of employment looking for someone that didn't work here. They were very rude. The caller didn't want to identify herself. She then requested to speak with the payroll deparment. When asked what was this in reference to she replied, A legal matter. She proceeded to give me the person she was calling for social security #. I told her to fax over her request and I will see that it be taken care of once I can verify who they are.

Just started getting calls from this number. No message is being left. Just what I need, more new callers............
