The calls I get are from 510-699=6152 (from Oakland, Calif,)  But I am guessing it is the same
scammers.  The automated call starts off..."Hi. This is Dianne.  Do you need your carpet to be
professionally cleaned?"
I just discovered (via the internet) that this same company has already been fined $10,000 for
violating the DNC list in Idaho,  I guess some people never learn!

I've gotten three calls from 'Carpet Cleaning Specialist' this week. I dialed "1" to talk to someone, I asked "What company is this?" and the person hung up on me right away.

Here's how you solve the problem. Book the appointment for a fictitious address on your block ("I live at 4050 1/2 Elm St. It's in the back.") Wait and see what company shows up and then bombard them for using a spammy telemarketers. Use Yelp, craigslist, etc. to tell potential customers how the company is using shady tactics to drum up business. Eventually they'll learn that shady marketing has its negative side.

Got sick of the calls so here is what I do. If we all did it, these guys maybe would quit. Set up an appointment with them and when they arrive, usually without any cleaning supplies, tell them there must be some mistake, and send them packing. Lets all start wasting their time for a change.

Don't fill out any paper work these guys wave at you. It has nothing to do with cleaning your carpets. If you speak russian that will help. When they call each other and they don't think you will understand, one can pick up some very usefull information, like names and the fact that they operate out of Oakland.

Well, I got a call from Dave's Carpet (again) and found this web site. I called the number 888.229.9795 which I found on this site and got a "hello" and asked that I be removed. I was hung up on. I redialed and was told that the number was 650.229.9795 and I was mistaken that I had dialed and 888 number. I receive two or three calls per month. I have no carpets to clean since my floors are all hard wood or marble but if I get another call, I will schedule a cleaning. By the way, the 415.555.1000 number has been discontinued. Guess a lot of people visited this site.

I went ahead and booked a carpet cleaning appointment for them to go to a vacant house. I waited up the street and watched them park accross the street. It was a man in his early 30's driving a small older model red truck which was UNMARKED. He came out and knocked on the door a few times. I was able to get a license plate number. That license plate number is 3P0G927 (California Plate).

After waiting in front of that house for several minutes I received a call on my cell phone. The number they called me with was 818-534-6825. They said that the carpet cleaner is waiting in front of your house and I told them that they have the wrong number.

I tried doing a reverse lookup on that number online at whitepages.com and all I can find out at the moment is that the number registered in Northridge, CA. Unfortunately my cell phone number was not on the Do-Not-Call list so I cant report them myself but hopefully someone out there can use this information to report them. Email me at miket818@yahoo.com if I can be of assistance.

The CID reads OUT OF AREA, and when it comes on, its the same as everyone else on these comments, this is Allison and i want to give you a special deal on carpet cleaning.  Well, i own my own carpet cleaning business and been doing it a LONG time now, i sure as heck do not need anything from some stupid cold caller with out the balls to actually talk to a person and lets a stupid recorded message talk for them.

Does anyone know who these people are?  I want to start calling them!

got a call on my cell phone today from "dave."  I pressed one to give them a piece of my mind and as soon as I started ranting they hung up.  If they call again, i will try again. maybe schedule a service and then give them the whole nine when they show up.  I don't even have carpet, my whole house is laminate.

I am in New York City and get these calls. I am on the DNC list as well as have an unlisted phone number. My caller ID shows the call coming from 000-000-0000, so obviously they've found a way to mask their true phone number. When I press one I get someone who hangs up on me as soon as they realize I don't want them to call me.

Whenever I get one of these I go ahead and schedule or whatever to talk to a human. Then when the human comes on I just pause for a while until they say hello and then I launch into a deep gutteral scratchy ?THIS IS SATAN? YOU WILL BURN IN HELL FOR WHAT YOU ARE DOING? SLEEP WELL TONIGHT?

I?ve had a few telemarketers run out of the room screaming! LOL

I'm in San Francisco and when I called to make an appointment and asked what company it was they responded, "Stanley Steamer."  I made the appointment, for a special of $43.00.  When he was finished the bill came to over $400.00.  It looks like these frauds can do whatever they want and get away with it.  I'll be submitting a complaint with the city's DA office, but based on the reviews here it doesn't look too promising.

I picked up this call to see who it was because I was receiving a lot of "unknown name" calls.  I listened to the carpet cleaning message and pressed '1' to schedule an appointment.  A man came on and I asked him what company he was calling from.  He answered Best Carpets.  I asked where he was located.  He didn't answer but asked if I wanted to schedule a cleaning.  I told him I did, but I needed to know where he was located.  At that point he hung up.

It sounds like many of you are in California- but I'm getting these calls too, and I'm in the Northeast!

I don't have caller ID.

I get these calls about once a week- used to be Dave, now it's Allison.

I hang up long before the whole message plays - thinking maybe the scam is to keep me on the phone long enough to tap into my line- so I would later get billed for calls others made.

Got a call on my cell phone today from the number (949)614-0045, with the same carpet cleaning special offer recording...

i pressed one to make an appt, and when i asked the girl where they got my number, she said "on a bathroom wall"... in disbelief, i said, "you mean to tell me you guys saw my number on the wall of a bathroom and decided to offer me carpet cleaning services?"

she replied, "well if your number is on the bathroom wall, you must be doing something right"... i asked for her supervisor and she hung up

Like the other people who have posted, I receive at least 2 calls a month from "Dave" and most of the time just hang up.  Once I pressed 1 and told the woman I was on the DNC list.  She hung up.  Today I asked for the name of the company and she responded "Best Carpet."  I asked for a number so I could contact them.  She hung up.

Without a caller ID number, don't see that the feds can do much.

Like another person, I thought about making an appointment for a time when I would not be home.  Unfortunately, I suspect that the poor person who is sent out has no idea about the lousy and illegal tactic that is being used, so I am hesitant to use that strategy.

I have been getting these calls for months, as has my next-door neighbor.

We have decided to make appointments then not answer the door if someone shows up.

I found a case in another state where the AG brought a case against a similar scam, and they settled for $10,000. I fail to see why the CA AG cannot go after these jerks.

I saw the phone # on caller idea and wondered what it could be. I decided to let the answering machine pick up, but then the call disconnected, maybe because it was getting an answering machine? I am also on the DNC list. I decided to Google the phone number and that's how I found these posts.
