Received call at 10:17am from a person claimed to be a tech from mircosoft - his name was Rex Barby - 415-830-3699,   Wanted me open my computer to him - asked how he got my home number and he stated from my windows product information.  Questioned his authority and stated I would call him back.  Never did but went online to trace phone number given and ended up here.

Got call from woman w Indian accent.  My husband had commented about this call so I played along.  She had me look at computer > manage > event viewer > system > application & system.  "Scroll down slowly and tell me what you see?" she said.   I replied, "Some error messages."  Then she directed me to custom view > administrative events.  That is all error logs.  She directed me to www.technopcsolution.com and advised me to click on the "Connect to Technician" button on the left.  She said that it would connect me to a tech who would remove all those errors.  I asked, "He would take control of my computer?"  "Yes, he is our computer technician and he will remove all those errors."  I said that I don't give anyone access to my computer and I would have to ask my husband first.  I asked for her phone number so that I could call her back after I got my husband's approval.  It must be a very profitable business and I could hear the echo of many people in that room.  And I guess that she gets paid by the "dupe" as she got in a real hurry to get off the line as soon as it was clear I wasn't going to click..

Had the same conversation with the heavy accent and eventually spoke to a Andy Marshall that gave me the 415-8309-3699 number.  Now I will need to get assistance to get any malware of other bugs that may have been planted....they only had access for a short time and then I shut down my computer.  Guess I am not over being dumb......

Prank Call
Received a call from 1-415-830-3699 with a man called Ryan.  I was told that there was a "world-wide" powerful computer infection and he could help me look on my computer to check if it was infected.  After I asked him exactly what he was "selling", he fessed up that he could check my computer for $135.00.  Ryan at "Instant Support" was very possibly instrumental in causing malicious spyware to infect my computer.

I did indeed have a very infected computer after talking to the guys at "Instant Support".

I went to www.mycleanpc.com and technicians that spoke English as well as me and they had my computer completely clear of all malware, viruses and optimized the running of my computer in less than 6 hours .  Excellent technicians and help.  I highly recommend them!

Received call from 1-415-830-3699 (hes actually in India) with a  man telling me we owed him for Instant Support. Told him not to call back and that he was a total scam - part of the Top Google epages scammer who called the night before. Beware and don't give them computer access or $$$.

I just received a call from someone who identified himself as Peter (with a heavy accent) saying he was from My Instant Support.  He called my cell phone with a blocked number and knew my name.  He told me he was with technical support for Microsoft and wanted me to go to my computer because there was likely malware on it (though he didn't use the word malware).  I asked where he got my number and he said he had received it from when I registered my computer.  I asked him to mail or email me the information, but he insisted on working over the phone with me.  I pressed him for a number and had him spell the name of the company (since he was difficult to understand).  I have no doubt this is a scam.  I told him I would check the information out and if I was interested I'd call back.  As I hung up, he said, "Don't turn on your computer and go to the internet."  Aggressive tactics.

I recieved a call 5 minutes ago. i think what they are trieng is to get you to do some work on your computer and than go online towards their website. as soon they are connected with your computer they will install a key logger or try to steel information from your computer like passwords en creditcard information. or they will install the mallacious software them self and will ask you to pay to get rid of the software or for the support. I

I have never ever read of microsoft calling me for free to give me support on my computer here in Holland. I think its a big scam of people somware in india who are trying to get your hard worked for money.

dont be tricked

regards

Hello

I received a call from a person with an Indian accent who gave this number and identified himself as Max Roger from Instant Support. He wanted me log on to my computer and a***s problems. I told him that I was not stupid so asked for his return number and also asked how he got my details. He advised me that he got them when I registered my Microsoft products. Can you confirm whether this is correct? Is Microsoft giving out our detail when we register products?
