Didn't answer the call. Read the comments here. Called the number back and got a recording that let me have our # removed (took 30 seconds or more to get to that). "Police Int'l" looking for participants for a dry eyes study.

called me today too..left no message caller ID said research. Called the number and recording and said Police International doing research on glaucoma and dry eyes. Yea ..right!
I see most on this list were in April 2013...I just got mine in April 2014
| Annie 2014-04-05 00:51:05 Unknown |
they called today..said research study..for dry eyes. Sound like another scam as reading their answer has been different on other callers....some gout or cancer...yea right.

Recording asking me if I use eye drops and want to participate in a study. Called my cell even though I'm on the do-not-call list.

Recording said some kind of policeman group - hung up

As a retired professional researcher I take particular exception to company's using "research" or "resrch" in a selling situation or randomly. It makes attempting to do real research much more difficult.

I bought a Digitone Call Blocker about 9 months ago. It cost $100, can block 80 numbers, and has been very effective in eliminating this crap. Best part is, as in the case of this one, I can block the entire 417 area code. That's what I do when I have gotten 3 or 4 calls from one. Yes, I still get these calls from time to time, but not as many as my friends do. I have also been involved in 3 actual prosecutions involving the donotcall list, so don't give up. It needs improvement, but if abandoned in frustration, the government will then do nothing. I can tell you this about it: Though under the umbrella of the FTC, it is actually staffed by a small number of people on a state by state basis, and they are over worked. Write to your representatives and get better staffing, and more will be done.

Scam scam scam wonderful SCAM! We get LOTS of scam calls, and this appears to be yet another one. Doesn't matter what this particular scam is, the lies may change but, but they are always annoying. Every few weeks the scammers change out the numbers that they pretend to be using (and so this is a new one for us). Lately, the scammers been using a series of phone numbers that match up with local businesses OR local residential phone numbers. We also get the calls in batches, which makes it obvious that a variety of scams are all connected. Wish that blocking, and never answering unknown numbers would cause a decrease in such calls, but NOT so.

Automated call to invite me, at 11:30 am during work hours, to a study for a disease no one in my family has. Suspect it was some sort of fishing expedition. This was an automated message, and I am also on the do-not-call list. Call was illegal for both reasons.
FTC reporting website is: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I've gotten calls from this so-called "Research Study" caller i.d., so I looked at my owner's manual for my Radio Shack-purchased Panasonic cordless phones, and blocked the number. Now, it rings once, then my phone gives the caller a message stating that the number they called from is blocked, and my system hangs up on them! If no caller i.d., i.e., "blocked number," "unknown number,", etc., it does the same thing. For $69.99, it's a bargain, especially since it can store up to 30 blocked numbers!! Of course, I then report it to the FTC on their website (www.ftc.gov/complaint (I think)).

65wellness.com is the caller fishing or trolling for signups.
They will let you press #1 to speak with a noobie.
Press #2 to be removed. They are fishing.
Report them to FTC.

I have zero tolerance for these nonsense calls when I am paying for a private number. Jut reported them to DNC list. I am always thankful for those who post here, and use this site as backup to show that others are also annoyed by these calls.

Yes, we get these stupid phone calls too here in Paradise. At 5:30 in the morning! We thought it might be an emergency and ran for the phone - for nothing! I wish for the evil person behind these calls nothing but the worst in life.

"Good evening, we're conducting a survey...." I cut her off immediately and said, "sorry I don't answer surveys." She asked why and I gave my pat answer, "no reason it's just my policy." She then asked, "may I ask you a question?" I answered, "you just did" and I hung up. Blocked the number and the area code.
| Lans 2013-06-13 20:40:07 Unknown |
They are lying when they tell you you can look up a number for free also. Well not really lying they will look up the number just won't give you any info unless you pay.

DO NOT CALL LIST IS AS MUCH A SCAM AS ALL THESE ROBO CALLS. I THINK THEY IN TURN SELL YOUR NUMBER TO THESE PESTS. SAID RES STDY AND I NEVER ANSWER ROBO CALLS. I SAW ON SEVERAL OF YOUR SITES NOT TO PICK UP PHONE AS THEN THEY KNOW IT IS A WORKING NUMBER.
IF GEEKS ARE SO GOOD ON COMPUTER TO HACK ETC. LET THEM DO SOMETHING USEFUL AND DO SOMETHING TO STOP THESE HORRIBLE PEST CALLS.

On June 12, 2013, at or about 3:23pm, MST, this so called "RESRCH STDY" called me number. I already reported them to the authorities. Stop calling my number or else.

On June 13, 2013 I received a recorded message at 12:11 pm. The message was asking for people to participate in a study on gout. No name was given. My caller ID only said "Resrch Stdy." I reported the call on donotcall.gov.

Recorded message: Doing research and trying new meds for gout. Will pay $$ if you qualify. Press 1 to speak to someone (I didn't) Press 2 to be permanently removed from list. (I did). However, this same number called about 2 weeks ago for a research study for chronic low back pain. I pressed 2 then too, but still received a call today.

417-800-2587 just called. Didn't pick up. They left a blank message. Good. No skin off my teeth.
If I don't recognize the number, and you don't have the decency to leave a message then know that you will never, EVER get to speak to me.
I hope the people behind these calls get attacked by bedbugs.

2:00 p.m. Just got this call and have caller i.d. - the name read: "RESRCH STDY" .... they let that &^%$ phone ring at least 30 times. I would not pick it up as they'll only call back. The incessant ringing drove me to distraction. I also have an unlisted number. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

RESRCH STDY robocall looking for people with gout. Even if it's legit this is a disreputable way to find research subjects. I suspect it's a scam
