I was just called, and when I answered there was nobody on the other end.  To see who was calling me, I called back the number on my caller id and after a delay, a person was there - I told them I had just been called, by someone at this number.  The genleman then goes into pledge mode... ?My name is Eric Norton calling from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, California State.  This call is being recorded for quality assurance. Ok.?  I asked him to remove my name from his caller list and he was talking over me and I suspect not hearing me; I then hung up.

We called local police and contacted police in oakland, ca and Alameda sheriffs office and repor\ed as when he called I asked about police in my area and he said he worked with them and knew them.  Maybe enough calls with STOP these bozo,

Also i have answered and asked person: i just got back from the doctor and found I have explosive bowl symdrome! I cry and ask them if they know what that is... and what i can do.. they hangup and don;'t call back!

Tell them to hold on for just a minute and keep coming back to the phone and say the same thing.. excuses: something is on the over/someone is knocking on the door/my other phone is riging etc

Ask if its OK to talk while you are sitting on the yoilet
We have a dog that likes to bark-we just put the phone down and encourage him to bark

Getting the calls in San Francisco and have been for some time.  I think there is something
menacing about this. . .and people should report it to the police.  It could possibly be worse
than a marketing scam if we are being stalked with criminal motives in mind (robbery/rape). . .

I just filed a complaint about the calls that I have been getting from this number at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and I encourage others who are having this problem to do likewise.

I, too, have been getting calls from this number at least once a day and sometimes more frequently than that for nearly two weeks now.  They always get picked up by my voicemail and the caller never leaves a message.  I am also on the DNC list and I am getting very annoyed that his caller is being so persistent.

Does anyone have any idea what can be done about this?

Called for a minimum donation pledge of 15$ and connected to another dept.....realised that they were calling almost every day  untill we answerd.

I THEN TOLD HIM AGAIN I WAS RECORDING HIM. AND WAS WORKING AT THE ANAHEIM POLICE DEPARTMENT. HE KEPT TALKING ABOUT SENIDNG MONEY AND NEEDING MY VISA.
I TOLD HIM AGAIN YOUR BEING RECORDED I WAS GOING TO TAKE THIS RECORDING TO THE CAPTAIN TO HEAR WHAT ALL HE SAID.
I TOLD HIM . i HAVE HIS NAME AND ADDRESS. AND THE FBI WOULD BE CALLING ON HIM VERY SOON. HE HUNGUP THE PHONE RIGHT AWAY.

This number just called me 510-201-5540. when I answered the phone no one was on the phone. I said Hello 4 times and hung up the phone. Hmmmm.
I have been getting calls about doing work around my house and I let them thing I do not know English. I start talking some other kinda of piglaten..LOL they do not understand me. Then they hang up.
As for this caller. No one on the phone I am reporting it to the do not call list..and to the police.
I am in court fighting for my grandson so I do not know if it someone from my grandson mothers father or not.
last I heard that man was in jail.

Got the same scam call from 5102015540 wanting money.  I hung up then googled the number and found this site.  Next time they call, I will deffinately chat with the scammer.

My number is on the Do-Not-Call list; however, I am receiving numerous calls from 510-201-5540..  They never leave a message.    They were calling once a day, now it has increased to two and three times a day.

I got calls from this number many times and again a minute ago. First I thought it might be some friends in Oakland, CA because the number starts with 510. So I looked up and found this page. Thanks for the info. I won't answer this number. By the way, my number is on "Do not call list" as well.

Same scenario as everyone else has  listed ...however I talked with the telemarketer.  The caller definately TRIED to come across as a "Police Officer" ... but the telemarketer was far to insistant on getting a certain $ amount donation before he sent out any pledge drive paperwork. I informed him that he was more than welcome to send a donation request and I would go over it to verify the legitimacy of his organization / request.  The telemarketer than said he hoped I could donate on next years fundraising drive. Sounds like a Scam.....

Ok.?  Then he hung up.  Creepy.  My number is on the Do Not Call list and I don?t talk to solicitors.
