My mistake... The number was (561) 948-0107 -- Probably the same telemarketer.

Just got a call from 561-848-3382. It went to VM, but no message was left.  I have Ooma Premier and I have added this number to my phone's blacklist. Hopefully, Ooma will add it to the Community Blacklist which will ban it from all other subscribers who have CB enabled.

Please stop telemarketer to call for Sin Sentinel!

Constantly calling my home phone. I think, but am not sure it's the Sun-Sentinal?

I get calls from them around 8:45 in the evening.  When I answer and say hello two to three times, there is no one there.  This is quite annoying.  How do you get these phone calls to STOP!!!

They every day and night two or three times a day. They even call 8:30 PM, 9:30 PM. This is getting rediculous and out of hand. It is very annoying.

I have recieved several phone calls from this number. The person either hangs up or holds the line. This is very annoying.

I received two calls this morning on my cell phone, back to back.  I normally don't pick up unidentified calls, but I picked it up the second time.  The person said he was returning my call regarding somekind of web seminar I had signed up for. He had my name (although I did not confirm this with him).  I told him I signed up for nothing and he was a bit condesending with me and said, "oh yes you did.  You remember, I said I would call you back within 2 days and also my associated tried calling you but we couldn't reach you."  Since he had my name, I'm wondering if he got if from a job application since I've been submitting them all over looking for employment.  Anyway, I told him to remove the number and I hung up.  So far, no more calls, but it's only been a few minutes.  We'll see.

I am in Houston and I am receiving calls from 561-848-3382.  I just changed my number and I cannot file a do not call complaint.  Now that is some stupid S%!*

It's a predictive dialer. When they call and there is no operator availble to transfer your answered call to, it is either dropping the call or putting you on hold until there is someone available. Try holding on the line for a couple of minutes and see if somone comes on. Then you can request to be placed on that company's "Do Not Call" list.

Also, go to WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV. Where you can add your number to the national "Do Not Call" list. It takes up to 3 months to be effective, but should halt all marketing calls after that.

Often people think their number is on the national list when it is not. You can check the status of your number at WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV as well.

Our phone has a splitter and receives faxes but still comes on with the machine too.  No one spoke or left a message.

I have been receiving calls from this number and they don't say anything.  I reported them to the "Do not call registry" along with a link to this page.

I have just reported them to the do not call list since they are calling me and I am on the list. Not only are they harassing me but they are calling at 8:55PM!!!!

The caller ID shows: C F M .  This is Crossfire Marketing. http://www.crossfire1.com/page1.htm  They specialize in marketing newspapers.  Sun-Sentinel's denial above is disingenuous.  C F M calls me everyday and I never answer.  They called today (Sunday) at 11:24 AM.  I am on the DO NOT CALL list.  They are so obnoxious and invasive, I have cancelled my subscription to the Sun-Sentinel and told them the reason why.  I suggest everyone do the same.  This is the Fort Lauderdale, Florida newspaper.

CFM calls  several times a day every day. When I answer the phone, there is no one on the other end. I reported them to the National Do-Not-Call Registry once, and the calls stopped for a while (maybe a coincidence?)
The calls started again two days ago, this time from a different number (954-678-4800)
Are these people above the law? I have seen several complaints from frustrated citizens like me on this and other websites. Can someone do something to put an end to this aggravation once and for all?

While this may be true. It is also true that the Sun Sentinel confirms that they use CFM Cross Fire Marketing and they do call from the number 561-948-8078 and ask for your credit card number. Maybe the Sun Sentinel should reconsider and stop using this company to harass their customers.

Update to this post.  I received another call today and so this time I called the Sun Sentinel at  954-356-4000 and they confirmed that CFM Cross Fire Marketing is working for them. I told them to please have them stop calling me. Hope this works!

I got a call from this number 561-948-8078 too asking on behalf of the sun sentinel for a new credit card number because mine had expired.  I did not provide it and now they keep calling and hanging up.  I tried reporting it to the Div of Consumer Services at the number advised in the posting from the Sun Sentinel on this page but when you call they direct you to their website because reports have to be in writing.  Here is the site to report the unwanted calls.

Told them not to call me. HARASSMENT

They have been calling and not leaving a message (561) 948-8078 this is starting to get on my nerves.  If it is the Sun Sent. or someone posing as such.  The argument whether tar and feathering is illegal should be discussed.  I work at night, so I don't need any unnecessary phone calls during the day.  Telephone solicitation should be outlawed all together.  Businesses should not be allowed to call private residents without express written consent.  The phone should be a tool of convenience not an instrument of nuisance.

First call from them Fri, 6:11 pm.  Second, this Sat morning at 9:45.  I don't answer; they leave no message.  Just got home and found a message on my machine from 8:48 pm, AA woman's voice: "Would you f*cking get with it please".  Then she sat there for aboout 10 seconds and I heard a bunch of other voices in the background on the phone harrassing other people.  I'm on all the lists not to call, she called after 8pm, and cursed on my machine.  I feel sorry for them... nice job.

I keep getting these calls too. 3 times so far today. No answer when I pick up. Tried calling back and I get a busy signal. And this is my cell phone. I've even put it on the Do Not Call list. WTF! Why are they calling and who sold them my number? Telemarketers can rot in he11.

Received several phone calls from this number.  When I answer no one responds to my "Hello".

I've received several calls from this number last year and this year.  Last year I told them I'm not living in FL anymore and they still call me for the newspaper that I used to get while I was living there. I called reverse 411 and they said there was no record of the number and it must be a cell phone.  Now that i found this site, I called the number back and no one answered.
