CCC is a company that does potential total loss valuations on automobiles for insurance companies all over the nation. They do this by finding similar vehicles that are currently for sale, thus determining market prices. They are not trying to sell your car. They may call to get more information about your car or to see if it is still for sale. They then let the insurance company and the owner of the wrecked vehicle know that vehicle, which was similar to the vehicle that was wrecked, may still be for sale. It is not a scam, just getting more information about the vehicle you have for sale, as the ad may not have had things like miles, options, trim level, and etc. listed or just checking to see if it is still available.

Having worked in the insurance industry for 15+ years, I am very familiar with this company. This is a company named CCC. They work with insurance companies as a 3rd party contractor to determine the value of vehicles which have been damaged in an accident or loss and have been declared a "Total Loss". If you have been contacted, it is most likely because you have a vehicle for sale and they are attempting to confirm what you would accept for the vehicle in a cash sale, or if the vehicle has been sold, what price it sold for.

I got a call on someone inquiring on a car for "another party". Would not give number, and said would call me back.

SCAM TELEMARKETING ! Call from same number. No message , did not answer. As a previous person posted i did post my number on craigslist (bad mistake) so seems to best bet.

My husband got a call from this same number. I called back and asked the lady that answered what the name of her company was she said CCC; I asked what it was and she said claims office and that they have sales people for selling cars, vehicles, etc and that we must have had a ad placed to sell a vehicle and that is why they were calling. So basically if you list a vehicle on trader, craigslist, or anywhere else its public you will most in likely get a phone call from them. My opinion if I wanted to sell with them I would have listed with them. I don't like people calling my phones and NOT leaving a message, that's my biggest pet peeve. At least leave a message many people pay for all their calls not just the ones that answer.

My husband and I both received a call on our cell phones on the same day, within an hour of each other and when we called it back all the wonman would tell me is that they have over 200 hundred employees and that there was no way she could find out who it was. When my husband called her back she told him that they were some kind of insurance claims person. We haven't claimed anything...???
