Hi,

we also got the free wedding bands giftcard and 2 free nights at a wyndham in the Bahamas. I just got the rings today and am not really sure if it's a scam or not. The package declaration claims to contain two pieces of costume jewelry valued at $3.00 each. It has really made me wary.

The rings look nice enough and if you don't care about dropping $50 on rings that may or may not be titanium or tungsten then go for it. We plan on using them as 'dummy' rings when we travel. However, if $50 is important for your budget or you want to be 100% sure that you are getting the real metal I'd think twice as I can't really say for sure.

I usually call back before I assume it's a scam. Every time I've "won something" it has been so far but there are legitimate prizes you can win.

Amanda and Angel sure use a lot of exclamation marks!  I guess it's because these deals are so great!!!

But here's the real deal, if you register at David's Bridal, they will sell your info to any bottom feeder who comes along with loose change.   The trips are a come-on for sales pitches for whatever cr@p is being sold.   Most people who attend don't even take the trips because of the low-end hotels that are being used look like third-world bedbug breeding farms and the air fare is on you.  Also, you have to pay extra for "all inclusive," figure that one out.  Take a look:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080820185605AAtqzeP

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/davids-bridal-sold-my-phone-number

http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/6312712025/6

The "I got screwed" list is endless.

I guess David's Bridal learned most people only buy a wedding dress once in their life--little repeat business-- so screwing over customers only has an up side.   But what can you expect from a Bridal store that looks more like a Jiffy Lube.

You can always tell when this suit cuts into the illicit take by crooks running this tired old scam -- it's getting harder and harder to find new victims isn't it?

Now your boss is going to be real happy to see your lies here, you can go back to the boiler room and try to find your next SCAM victims! If you can LOL...

I got this same phone call. And you people are crazy, did any of you even take the time to call the lady back to see what it was about before jumping to conclusions? I got the same call after registering with David's bridal and a lady named Stephanie told me that my fiancé and I just won a free trip and a few other things. All we needed to do was sit through a 60minute cooking show and afterwards we would receive our gifts. The lady told me I'm not obligated to purchase anything, in fact, she told us to leave our wallets at home. My fiancé and I went to this show and it was a salesman trying to sell us these great quality pots and pans. Yes they were expensive but you don't have to purchase them. After our 60minutes were up we were given our free trip and other gifts and we walked out the door, not a dime spent! It's was just this past Sunday too! And we got a 3day 2 night all inclusive trip to either costa rica, the Dominican republic, or Mexico. EVERYTHING included except airfare but they give you 2 and 1/2 years to use it. Plus we got 20% card to Carls and Crafts that never expires and a year membership to coupondough.com so to those of you who just 'assumed' it was a scam, you missed out! It was only 60minutes out of your time and again, you dont have to spend a penny!!!! Next time call this person back and asked for info before you start assuming its a scam. Ask if there is a purchase necessary to receive your gifts! If there isn't, than what do you got to lose except 60 minutes of your time?

My fiancee and I recently went to the presentation, got our prizes, and bought their cheapest package. Instead of doing the vacations, we did the wedding bands. We got a giftcard for JVL Jeweler and your order the rings online. The gift card itself is not a scam, but let me tell you something-for the mens wedding bands, they're great. For the womens wedding bands-not so much. They're just as big and bulky as the men's. I guess that's just personal preference, though. I guess we're going to have to wait and see what happens with the cookware and everything. It seems legit, but I guess we won't find out til we actually get our things. They cooked food for us and everything, which pretty much sold us, too.

When they originally called me, I talked to Jessica (I think) and she was more than glad to explain everything to me. I asked her if I could call her back because I was driving and she said that was fine and told me I could call her back on the number she called me from, which is the number listed on here. We were there with another couple who had done this sort of thing before, just not with this specific company.

90% of people on here that are saying it's a scam haven't tried it or anything. The only way to know is from either personal experience or from knowing people that have gone through it. Yeah, it sounds like a scam, but if it turns out to be good, I'll laugh at everyone who thinks it's a scam. Especially since we plan on selling the vacations.

Jessica, do you believe the pots and pans are really worth it? Because honestly, they just confirmed our order yesterday and if you feel it isn't worth it, I'll talk to my fiancee and have him cancel. Seems legit, but honestly have no idea.

I am in fact a real person. I work for a bank in Texas and I'm getting married soon, just like everyone else on here. Take the time to read ALL of the reviews because it may be worth it in the end.

Hello, people i recieved the same message and found out that it is legit! I called 3 times and spoke to someone everytime. They said it was davids bridal, and if you register the enter you in a drawing to win stuff! My friend had been to one and she got her package to go on her trip and hotel is paid for all you have to do is pay for your plain tickets when ready to book your trip! It's Legit i called the Hampton hotel and they said it's legit and that the company will be here at 5pm! My friend said its worth it! So we are going today! My aunt has been also and said it was good, they will offer some time shares you dont have to buy it that has nothing to do with your gifts. You still get your vacation packets which is paid for. then you get a 1,000 dollars in grocery manufacturing coupons not a card. They were 100% honest with me! How about everybody try it before you knock it! you save money on a 3 day 2 night hotel stay for 2! My friend been on these trips 4 times a year and has 8 kids a husband and it saves them money and they travel to different places. So feel sorry for those who miss out!

I wanted to update what has happened ever since the presentation.
I don't think I mentioned this in my last posts, but we did end up purchasing the cheapest package they had available.. which ended up being about $1900 after tax... 8 piece set, plus a full knife set. I have since received the product, and it is definitely the same product they demonstrate at the presentation. (I was a little bit nervous that it would be something different). I know that it is pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for. And let me tell you, these knives are incredible! My mother has a nice chefs knife that she paid almost $200 for, and she used my chefs knife that came in the set, and she said it's way better than hers! I always knew I wanted to have a really nice set of knives, and would love to have good quality pots and pans. These have a lifetime guarantee, so for my fiance and I, it was worth it to invest the money now, and have them forever.. instead of wasting money over the years on multiple sets of lesser quality cookware and knives.
But what really sealed the deal for us was the free cruise offer with any purchase. Tom mentioned this at the end of the presentation.. and everyone in the room responded in doubtful silence. I could tell, everyone thought "yeah right". But, turns out, it's completely legit. We got a voucher for a 5 day/4 night carnival cruise for two. It's an "entry level cabin"..meaning inside, no windows. And it doesn't include airfare or taxes or booking fees. We will end up paying 392.42 in taxes and booking fees. They assign a travel agent to you to arrange the details, and we do plan on upgrading to a different room (another reason for this benefiting the cruise line... upgrades, extending to a longer cruise, etc). You get to pick 1 of 3 ports to sail out of.. Long Beach, California, Miami, Florida, and Port Canaveral, Florida. (There could be other charges also depending on what time of the year you're planning on traveling). We're doing Miami and using our free hotel stay before we start the cruise..Stay in Miami for a couple days before the cruise. Honestly, we wanted to do a cruise for our honeymoon anyway, and this way we will save a lot of money. It's not free, but we will save a lot.

As far as how they get these free trips... go to odenza.com. This is the company they get them from. Its actually a company with "incentive marketing solutions".. Companies buy these travel vouchers from this company to offer them as sales incentives for their customers. With a company like Cookworld, with their cheapest package of cookware being $1800, it is worth it to them to offer these incentives to get the sale..especially with how this economy is. There were two different presentations the  night we went, and I think about 15 of 20 couples bought something. You do the math. Do you think all these couples would have purchased something if it weren't for these trips? Probably not. I know we wouldn't have.

Not everything is a scam. Most things are, yes. But this one isn't.

And I am not any type of employee of any of these companies. I'm just a girl who's engaged and got a phone call.. Just like you. Please feel free to email me with any questions.. Jessie1386@gmail.com. I'm a 23 year old girl from Cleveland, Ohio.. I was nervous about all of this being a scam, just like you are (or else you wouldn't be looking at this site). I wanted to provide this information for those of you who are thinking of just dismissing it as a scam. Because I sure am glad that I didn't. I'm so happy with my knives and cookware, and I am so excited we're going to be saving money for our honeymoon.

THIS COMPANY IS TOTALLY DISHONEST, THEIR PRODUCTS COSTS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, AND THE SALES PEOPLE AT THE PRESENTATIONS  BECAME VERY THREATENING WHEN WE WHEN I ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRIZES. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO !!!!!!

I recieved the call from Jeanetta at Cookworld  stating I "won" 3 different prizes...1) 3 day/2 night trip to my choice of 20 different locations- including Honululu, St. Martins, Las Vegas, etc. . .2) $1000 in groceries, 3) 20 -40% off merchandise . I asked several times if purchase was necessary, Jeanetta reassured  me no, and I was told to go to a local hotel to pick up the items and hear a presentation.

Against our better judgement, my fiance and I went to the presentation. I understand they expect you to buy their products. I was willing to spend a little, but THEIR PRODUCT LINES WERE AS HIGH AS 10,0000!!!! THE CHEAPEST WAS $1700. ARE THEY CRAZY- WHO CAN AFFORD THIS FOR POTS AND PANS IN TODAY'S ECONOMY? The cookware was nice , but definetly not worth that. IT WAS HINTED THAT WE HAD TO BUY THE PRODUCTS TO GET THER PRIZES.

For the trip, it turns out their are only 3 locations- not the 20 the said on the phone the day earlier. And of course, your airfare is not included. The $1000 in groceries- is actually something you have to send in for to get coupons on various products .

When we started to ask questions about the cost of the products and the promotions, "TOMMY" the sales rep went from supernice to a super A**HOLE, He was screaming at us, and talking down to us. Implying we must be stupid not to buy this product, because he had letters from "people with Master's degrees , Doctor's, sports trainer's, etc" Then he actually showed us laminated letters from people, how pathetic! He also said " I'm not a travel agent" when we asked more about the trip.  When I ask about the groceries, at first he pretended like he did not know what we were talking about. He then referred us to his wife who was working with him, I did not catch her name, but when I told her that we were told on the phone that we did not have to buy, she very rudely stated, " Go take an adverstising class"  and we were kicked out for politely asking questions.

This company will go out of business if it keeps this up, because people put up with such lying a**holes.

I just received a call from this number as well and they left a message. I had my Fiancé call back for me because I was working.  The lady he talked to said that we did need to do to the presentation to be able to claim our prize. I think we are going to go and form our own opinion about it and we will make sure and post what happens. He's a salesman himself so we know how not to get scammed..

*I did also try on a dress at David's  Bridal and will be receiving a call from me when I get off. Even if we do get the prizes I'm not ok with my number being given out.

Thanks for the info about David's Bridal. That is the only place they MUST have gotten my cell phone number from as I've never been to any Bridal Expos. They will also be getting a call from me. Oh and P.S....
As far as what "SCAMMED" was saying, I forgot to mention..
There definitely are 20 locations to choose from for the 3 day/2 night hotel stay..
and yes, the $1000 is $1000 worth of online coupons that you go onto the website and sign up for... go to the website.. grocerycardusa.com.. its self explanitory. And with money as tight as it is for me, it's definitely worth it.

I don't know what the heck this lady was talking about, but doesn't seem like anything that I experienced with the SAME people last night.

I did also receive this phone call, and we attended the presentation last night. The presentation is actually quite enjoyable because I thought Tom was quite funny and his wife was pleasant.

As far as the prizes they tell you about on the phone, you DO, I repeat DO, get the prizes without having to purchase ANYTHING. I did not feel one time pressured that I have to buy this cookware. They did demonstrations, and actually discussed healthy cooking which I enjoyed listening to.

They did offer more prizes if you did make any type of order, but there was no requirement to purchase anything.

From what I understand, they get these prizes for next to nothing, and it is their way to get engaged couples in to demonstrate their product, which is actually a very good quality product. You get what you pay for. No, they don't have any retail stores, no sales associates on commission, and this allows them to sell the cookware for below retail cost because of their low overhead.

From what I saw, this company seems legit, and the prizes promised over the phone are legit. I have the vouchers sitting next to me right now.

It's worth it to sit though the presentation.
