This number called me at 1:40am. I did not answer. When I checked my vm , the message was a recording.. " one three, we look forward to serving you"

I'm freaked out.  This number (631) 676-1623 was attached to a fax to me from ring central.  Along with it was an attachment of an obituary of my dead ex girlfriend.  FREAKY!

I'm a freight broker for a U.S. transportation company. We post load opportunities for freight carriers on several internet sites. I received a call from this number inquiring on one of my loads. My only complaint with the caller was that he was very rude and hung up on me mid-sentence. I was going to call him back, but the message said it was Ring Central. Incidentally, we have a privacy blocker on all our company phone lines, to prevent unknown calls from getting through, but this would get around that. I don't like not knowing with whom I'm dealing.

Dude they call our business in the wee hours of the morning and rack up $400 - $500 in phone calls.  There is not even anyone here to answer our phone.

Ring Central helping us with a Ring Central issue- not to say that somehow it could be someone else based on the comments- but for us, right now- it is legit

Area code 631: For Eastern Long Island, Suffolk County, NY.

QUESTION: How can area code 631 be associated with Indiana (IN)?

ANSWER: Because the calls are faked, spoofed, scam and sham, AND to also see how much information unsuspecting naive persons are WILLING TO GIVE to complete total strangers.

I got a call at 3:45 A.M.    Didn't answer.  But phone waking me at that time kept me up the rest of the early morning.

I can verify what Jack wrote on 14 Mar 2012:

The number 631-676-1623 is a generic line that is used by Ring Central and could apply to ANY of their Thousands of subscribers.  If you have outgoing lines with them and want  to block your outgoing caller ID, Ring Central offers a "generic number" to accommodate services that don't accept calls from lines with blocked caller ids.  

I don't know if there is anything that can realistically be done about it. The only chance you have of dealing with it is if you answer the call and the caller divulges their real identity.  If that does happen, then you can call Ring Central and complain or take other action.  It's easier to just pickup the phone to stop the ringing and hang up again.

As a ringcentral subscriber, I will confirm what The truth and ring Central say above.  When you call a non-800 number, you can simply block your number.  However when you call an 800 number, you can not block your number (probably government regulation crap).  However, Ring central provides their subscribers a way to "block" a callers real id.  There is an option to select where if a call is being placed to an 800 number, you can just select a "generic" number  to display instead of your real number.  This just happens to be the number that they display.  The calls are most likely coming from unscrupulous companies who don't want to broadcast their real number.

If you get harassing calls that show this number, then you should call Ring central with the time and date to complain.  If they get enough complaints they will hopefully disconnect that subscriber or at least prevent them from using numbers other than their real number.

This is part of a pool of numbers used by Ring Central to forward calls made to toll free numbers.

This is a generic number used by Ring Central, a legitimate provider of 800 numbers and telephone services, for various purposes. People using Ring Central can use this number to disguise their caller ID. If you get a suspicious call, report it to Ring Central and let them know one of their subscribers is doing something illegal. Hopefully they can track down and disable the account.

They keep calling everyday claiming they are from yellowpages.com, but we do not have an account with nor do we need an account with yellowpages.com.
They have threatened if we do give them a credit card # and subscribe to yellowpages.com that we could go to jail.
We advised them we're on the National Do Not Call Registry thru the Federal Trade Commission, we've reported every cal for the past 2 weeksl. We even filed a complaint with our sheriff's dept for threats.

yep - a test call from ring central. I am porting a number and am having trouble and they have called a few times to make sure everything was working correctly. I haven't had anyone pressure me for a credit card number.

It was likely Ring Central setting up my cell phone. I got a new job and they use Ring Central for forward calls.

Got call at 1:34am and did not answer.  Suspected wrong number. no message left. Glad I didn't answer.

I answered  ... they listened ... hello , hello, HELLO! Not a word from the other end... Frustrating ... called the number back and the mailbox is full ... sheesh!

These phone calls are illegal.  They are resulting from one company that has sold your numbers out to a bunch of unscrupulous companies that are scam artists.

Explain that you want the company prosecuted for their behavior, that they do not deserve an A+ rating, that you will stand behind your complaint and that the company needs to pay for the illegal activities of those that they sell the numbers to.

PLEASE file the complaint.  Without complaints by good people like you there is nothing that will ever be done about these people and the phone calls will continue unchecked, they will NEVER stop.  Help bring them down!!!

The person said they were from a company that helps with debt. I said I didn't have any debt and to please not call me again. I didn't give them a chance to say anything further. They called on my cell phone.

I am a Ring Central Customer and this is the number they had used when providing test calls when I was talking to technical support. On my RingCentral Call log it shows the number as "RingCentral Service".

Got a call from a Mrs Wilson - Talked to my phone company and she has had someone HACK through another number *631 676 1623*  and gives this other number ... UBC 866-559-4301 Re: Please call imediately as states by caller Caller was very rude and demanded to speak to someone now! This is a scammer or bill collector and is not following FCC guidelines for Do Not Call.

Scam call - Received a call  at 5:13 am.  Recording said that it was Ring Central verifying our new credit card and to enter the 16 digit account number.  I hung up.  They are most definitely looking for credit card numbers.
