Same here, received a call from 1-647-725-2912  and many other numbers. But there is something you can do for your self while the government gets their act together. Download and install Phone Tray free. this stupid phone number has been calling me for DAYS now, and when i answer the phone there is nobody there, and when i call back it doesn't give me the option to block them or talk to anybody...it just says the number i am calling is unavailable. wtf! stop calling me!!!

These b*****ds are calling our phone throughout the day, and when we call back, we can never get through Need this to stop instantly.

I get calls from this number and It says "Hello I am Roberta from X marketing research and you can win a cruise for answering just couple of questions". I always hang it up.

I keep getting these calls. It rings 3 times then it stop ringing. I have been bothered by these calls for the last 2 weeks. One day they called 4 times. I don't answer it if no call display

I'm in Ontario.  I got a few calls today from this number.  Lucky me though - I have a portable Panasonic phone system which allows me to block calls from whatever numbers I choose.  With a few clicks of the appropriate buttons I have now limited this particular number to a single ring......and then the phone line disconnects the call.  I've done that with numerous other calls like this and it now makes me smile a REALLY BIG SMILE whenever I hear that single ring of the phone line!  WINNING!!!!!!!

yes, got several calls and in the past too.  They are selling something.  Sometimes I don't bother answering but if they continue to phone I'll answer then mute it and leave the phone on so they incur the costs. it usually stops after awhile.  Or when the sales rep answers, if they ever do, I'll tell them to wait a second then I mute it and put it down and see how long they wait for me. depending on the phone service you have you can enter it into your block list too.  the other thing I've been able to do is forward calls to a known fax line but you have to be quick before voicemail picks it up.  lots of fun!!

Get this number to stop calling me!

I have been getting calls from this number up to 4x/day, including weekends out in BC.  I have never answered but my answering machine has so I guess that is why they keep calling back.  Very annoying!!

A Canadian group that advocates for lower taxes has been hit by a U.S.-based scam that poses as survey research before offering participants a free cruise, which is really a front for a high-pressure time-share sales tactic.

The scheme involves automated telephone calls, known as robocalls, that use a handful of survey questions as a way to get around do-not-call lists in Canada and the U.S.

In a number of calls reported in Canada, the recording asks a series of questions ostensibly on behalf of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, including about MP pensions, then offers participants a free cruise in the Bahamas. People who have accepted report being subjected to high-pressure sales tactics intended to sell them time-shares, according to reports online.

Troy Lanigan, president of the CTF, said the organization has nothing to do with the calls, known as the Love Boat scam.

"I don?t even want to tell you how frustrating it is," he said, after speaking to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, the CRTC, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

"There?s not a lot [we can do]."

Lanigan said he tried to trace the phone numbers that appear on recipients' call display, but the callers, who say they're from the Independent Survey Group, use a method called spoofing to get a fake number to appear.

"It?s terribly embarrassing for us. You feel so powerless," Lanigan said.

"If a vendor makes a mistake, you phone the vendor, you get it corrected right away, you apologize to the people involved and you move on. But in this case, you're fighting a ghost. You just spend time researching it online and trying to track it down."

Lanigan blogged about the problem on the CTF's website at the end of June in an attempt to tell supporters. He said the people who first complained to them about the calls aren't even supporters or on their mailing list.

He's asking anyone who gets a call to phone the CRTC, which regulates telecommunications in Canada, at 1-866-580-3625, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501. For the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, cite reference number 738231.

Had the calls from 647 725 7712 as well as another 647 number...multiple times a day, as late as 10 pm! I'm so enraged by this, I want to call these *(&@#ers AT  THEIR HOME starting at 7 am!!!

There is a link for "Removal" but don't trust it. They have called me twice today. I somehow think they are not aware they are calling Canadians with their US based survey topics. I really don't care if it's Mitt or Obama unless they are horses racing at the track.

If we all send them a note maybe they will stop. Use a fake e-mail if you want to remain anonynous.

I have received numerous calls from this number over the past number of days.....often every 10minutes or one every hour.....like everyone else I *69'd the number but that of course doesn't help.....I'm thinking now it's best to answer the call now and deal with that person at the other end of the call....to tell them I am filing a complaint....whether they are out of the zone I don't know....it is frustrating.....oh it just called again.....it just leaves all these hang ups on my phone so when I come home there are all these dead messages on the machine.

I get this number calling me at least 3 times a day and everyday for the past 2 weeks. I have numerous numbers calling my house. When I get home from work after 9 hours, i have between 3 and 7 missed calls and all of them are bogus numbers.

You can put your number into their "do not call" list but frankly I wouldn't trust them as far you can throw them, but you can leave them a big long message if you want.

This particular number has been very aggressive lately with several calls per day and 20 minute spacing if I don't answer or hit disconnect after one ring.  The most annoying thing is today they called while LPGA was on TV and rang the phone during Paula Cramer's backswing.
What could be so important that they need to call thousands of people (10 pages of documented complaints here) several times per day?  If they want credit card information for a crime spree, why not just break into my house and steal my wallet?
