This is a general outgoing trunk line from Stanford; you can't call this number back expecting to get the caller.  As mentioned by Eric and others, it is not specific to the medical school or to development (fundraising).

I think this is Stanford's fundraising arm dialing alumni for dollars. You know, where they hire co-eds with cute voices to call the male graduates to tell them how much their donations will mean to the students?

Yes, this is an outgoing Stanford line (for various parts of the University).  I got a call from the Registrar and this is what showed up.

I believe this is an outgoing line from Stanford Medical Center.... a line they only call out on.  I have a dead beat sister-in-law who is a career system abuser and gets free sugeries at Stanford at least 2 x per year - and this number is always on her cell phone.... yeah, the cell phone her brother pays for (my husband) nothing like enablers and tax payer abusers all in the same family ---- don't get me started.
