Got this call at work asking to speak to an employee. Informed Arabic speaking John Michael that the employee wasn't to receive personal calls at work. John Michael informed me it was an emergency, to please go get the employee. I asked the name of the business, was informed it was Crime Prevention in Bakersfield, CA. We're on the other coast.

These people called me again, this time on my house number, see post from same name above. This time is was Alex Gonzalez from the Department of Crime Prevention. He said he was a paralegal from 661-241-0518. he said I was going to be picked up in the morning by my sheriff. They stated that I needed to have my lawyer contact them this time. I called my local police dept, and they said they have been getting many many calls about just this. He told me that my best options are to begin reporting this online. He gave me a website called  http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and told me to file a report on their, as well as start building a case on their website. And then to contact my bank and have them switch my accounts over, and contact the social security admin at 1-800-772-1213 and let them know what is going on so they can sort of flag my account. This officer was extremely helpful! I urge you all to start doing the same. And if identity theft does happen to you, call 1-877-IDTHEFT  also known as 1-877-438-4338.

I really want to end these phone calls. And stop the bad people. Please update if any of this helped or worked for you.

I just returned the call from thenumber 661-241-0518 and this lady (heavy indian accent) came on and told me if my lawyer did not call today, that I would be picked up at my place of employment tomorrow and go to JAIL.... Everytime I try and ask where I am supposed to owe money to they won't tell me.  Is everyone going thru the same thing?

I also got a phone call to both my cell and work from 661-241-0518.  They told me that I was delinquent on a payday loan that I had in fact had paid off.  They had my last 4 of my ssn and bank account number. When I called back using the same number as before, I also got a message, but then got right through calling from another telephone number. I know I am definitely going to close my bank account and get a new one now!  The representative where very haughty and rude and telling me it's too late to do anything and good luck getting out of this legal trouble which will charge me for $10,000 for my crime of fraud.  Well, I really don't believe them at this point.

Just received a call from a heavy accented Indian man stating that he was Chris Brown. When I said "like the singer?" He started stuttering and was clearly flustered.

I recieved a call today from an heavy accented Indian voice identifying himself as Chris Brown. He said that I was about to be arrested. How do I contact these people to tell them not to call me?

I received the same message, and returned the call. I then forwarded the information to my VERY REAL attorney who also attempted to contact them. My attorney was able to speak with a gentleman with a distincitive Indian accent, who when questioned by my attorney as to the nature of the phone call, sheepishly replied that there has been a mistake and ensued with a myriad of apologies.

I decided to call the number again and this time I received an answer, this was immediatley after my attorney called. My name and number appeared on the caller id, and after about 5 rings an answering machine picked up stating that the party I was trying to reach was unavailable. Again my attorney contacted them and she received the voicemail, and left a stern message to cease and desist from any further communication with her client by way of phone calls to home or employment or she would personally file a FTC fraud complaint against them. I haven't heard from them since.

This is a scam of some third world criminal slumdogs, trying to become millionaires. I guess their Academy Award winning movie has gone to their heads and the thought that Americans and fearful about debt is the imputus used to engage in this criminal activity. Don't be alarmed they are fakes!

This was the police report I filed today.

A Person from India called my cell phone from 661-241-0518. Numerous times. But today it scared me. They said I needed to have my attorney or myself call them back to schedule payment plans. And if I didn't they would be here to arrest me and throw me in jail in an hour. I'm very scared. These people had my social security number, birthday, my drivers license number. In calls previous they left names of people, but this one was recorded on my voice mail, and I couldn't make out the name of the person who called. They said I owed a payday cash advance to someone and I needed to pay them 700 dollars or they were going to file a lawsuit against me. I don't remember ever taking out something like this. I'm not really sure what I need to do at this point. Looking for someone to advise. Do I need to obtain an attorney and sue them? Or what? I've been harassed by these people. They have been calling non stop for over a month now. Between the hours of 7am-10pm. Once they even threatened to rape my family. This is not some one collecting debt here in the US. Because that's illegal here to threaten and stuff. Please get back to me asap! As I'm officially freaking out.

I too have been receiving these scary calls at work. I get the Indian guy also. Now when I hear the voice I will just delete the message.

I have had 5 different names call me at my place of work for 2 years now... I had SVPD and MHPD and SJPD contact them from California and advised them that they needed to stop calling my numbers or they will be the ones going to jail-- They stop for about 6 months and then start up again. I just started receiving phone calls again Monday morning at WORK of all things again. Every thing everyone has posted I have heard this new guys name is Ronnie White 661-241-0518.

Personally I would be constantly calling the Police Department NON STOP to get some kind of future investigations going-- I have many friends in the Police Departments thats why I got them to call these people but the only way that ALL of us will have ANY luck in getting these guys is that we ALL report them EVERYDAY that they call to your LOCAL Police Department- FYI- If you live in another jurisdiction that the cell phone bill is you need to report it there as well as report it to the jurisdiction that they are calling if it is another location=== This is the FIRST thing the Police Department will tell you.

I also did all the investigation work on the phone numbers - and a company from NY sold another company about bulk- 60,000 phone numbers and that is why it is so hard for the Police to get them because after they make so many calls on that number and then disconnect it. The company from NY said they dont know who they sell them to.

I also received a call from this guy and have been receiving these calls for over 2 years now. I have asked repeatedly for them not to call my work number. They have stated over and over that they will call and they will call 100 times a day until I pay up. I asked to show proof of the debt and they have refused. I have asked what company they are trying to collect for they can?t even answer that. They have left messages with co-workers saying if he doesn?t call me back that he will be arrested that he meaning me is a criminal. WTF? they have heavy Indian accents call from various numbers constantly on the move and they even went has far as to say he was a federal law enforcement officer "gotcha" they use celebrity names that they can?t even spell or say correctly. I have invited them multiple times to send the sheriff or better yet bring your sorry a** down to my work and collect yourself. They are a scam and they need to be stopped. The authorities have not nor will they try to stop these people they are out of their reach. Funny thing same guy calls and always uses a different name. What a Joke do not give any info out to these people nor send them any money.

I have been getting these calls for over two years now - it is always an Indian speaking person and always from a different number.  I have regretted taking out a PayDay loan ever since.

This time the call was from Shawn White wtih Crime Prevention I have reported every number they have called from and I still get harrassed for money - the authorities need to find these people!!!

I got a call from this number at my job AND my cell phone.  Scared the heebee jeebee's out of me.  As I'm trying to clean up items on my credit, when I got the call, needless to say I was irrate!  He got an earful to say the least.  Guy with a heavy indian accent informing me that I needed to get an attorney and so forth because I had gotten a payday loan.  REALLY, funny I didn't know anything about a payday loan...... Man, am I glad I researched this before I got TOO alarmed.  Guys name is "Ron Baxter" at 661-241-0518.  I was panicking there for about an hour.....thanks everyone for posting.

I just received a phone call f rom a Mr. Joy Johnson from phone number6612410518 telling me he is from CA and that I will be arrested.  I told him he don't scare me.  What I find funny is that im repairing my credit and the payday loan has been paid so how are they receiving my information.  Don't trust these payday loan places they are selling our information to people in call centers with Indian Accents acting like we don't know.  You tell me what indian has the last name Johnson.  Don't be scared if these people call you my husband best friend is chief of police in the town I live in and I gave him the information.  He is going to investigate it.

My friend just received a call from this number and they said she is being charged with fraud. now my friend has taken numerous payday loans out and sent them to another country to a man she has never met. has any of you done this for this persone to get your number and contact you

I just received a call on my cell from 661-241-0518. They put me on hold and then this woman comes on to tell that I received an online payday loan. The company name is PayDay Cash. When I started to politely refute the allegations, she told me that I need not talk to her in the manner of which I was speaking.  I responded with, "Ma'am I am simply asking you a question. What is your number so I can have my attorney call you back?"  She completely ignored me and rambled on from what appeared to be a script.  Then she said,"If you dont' call me back in 1 hour the sheriff's office will come pick you up at your place of employment TODAY.  You will be arrested and thrown in jail, is that what you want?"
So I repeated for her to give me her full name and number.

i got a call today on my job a women with arabic tone name jennifer williams(yeah right) told me i had a law suite against me and I need to give them a call with  my lawyer so i can set up payments.

It's been happening to me for a year now and it hasn't worked so I don't know why they keep trying. A Local Detective already told him to stop calling me. I had this message waiting for me when I got to work this morning. Have no fear of these people and for God's sake, do not send them any money.
