Yesterday it was a recording "please remain on the line.... please remain on the line.... please remain on the line.." so I hung up. I went onto FTC.org and reported the cell phone number. It is illegal for them to initiate a call with a recording.
Today I answered and it was a woman from a collection agency (sorry..I was so annoyed I didn't listen to how they identified themselves). The woman asked for me by first and last name. She said that they need to resolve a debt.. I told her that I had reported their ph# to FTC yesterday and they needed to stop calling my cell phone number. She said that she would continue to call me because I owe a debt to US bank or something to that effect. I told her that I know what she's doing is illegal, and that I will continue reporting their phone number as violating the laws. She says, "alls (yes, ALLS) you gotta do is tell me that it's not your debt. I said "ALLS I GOTTA DO?" and I hung up.
I owe a lot of debt BUT... I have a perfect credit score and I know my debt very well. So I feel safe saying that this is a scam. I'm not a sucker.
