It is Human Resources. They called me three times. I missed the first call.  I answered the second and third calls and talked to the representative. They had questions regarding my income.

It is definitely the KC DHS. It may be a "cover" number and not go through when called back, but if you answer it then you will find out.

*I know because I answered it, they were asking if I was interested in a position.

Guys, it is a valid call. It is called the trunk id number. If someone from the department is calling you, this is the number that will appear. There use to be a message that played stating this when you returned the call if the worker did not give you their return number on your voicemail. That message is being rebuilt.

Wrong Amanda, it is a bull s*** call. I have received it many times. Rings once and they hang up. This is a new phone number for me.

Its actually not fake. If you get a call from that number it is the Welfare Department. Sometimes they get or are given a wrong number. All you have to do is answer it and tell them they have the wrong number.

Got a call from 6616337440 on my cell.  It never rang though.  Noticed missed call and called back and got Spanish recording.  My Iphone identified it as coming from the Palmdale Area in Kern County.

I called back and it was a call about an issue from the "Human Services Department"--nice try but i think its FAKE

That was the welfare/CPS number that shows on your caller ID. It means either you contacted welfare or you know somebody who works there.

This phone number called me today and it's the Human Services Department of Kern County. If you are on Medi-Cal or any other service offered by the county they are trying to get a hold of you about your status.
