I want to know how to stop these calls.  My cell service says they can't block it.  It's a recording for extended car warranties, and to hit "1" to be connected to agent, who will do nothing about stop calling me.  Any suggestions?

Okay, gang, I've hit the Mother Load!  Read below and be sure to copy these numbers.  I've called them all, and I'm registering complaints against them all:

The following numbers 760-526-8172, 201-210-6015, 818-870-5041, 763-392-5983, 508-534-1282, 978-570-2251, 603-214-3661, 213-363-5145, 702-520-1432, 702-520-1494, 916-219-8162, ALL reached the SAME message in the same recorded voice.  The message said:

"Thank you for calling.  We are sorry if we reached your number in error.  We only purchase and call business phone listings.  If you would like the number removed from our calling list, please press 1."

I called the first number (760-526-8172) without my phone being blocked.  When asked to press 1 to remove my number from their list, nothing registered; instead, the same message repeated as many times as I pressed 1.

I called all the other numbers I've listed here.  Each had different caller IDs and each had different area codes, BUT THE ALL LED TO THE SAME RECORDED MESSAGE!

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.  Companies HAVE to identify themselves, they HAVE to provide us (within no more than 30 days) their company's Do Not Call Policy, and they HAVE to allow us to opt out of future calls by telling them to put us on their company's Do Not Call List.  If they fail to do even ONE of these things, they are breaking the law and can be fined?per call!

Check out this info:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm
Read numbers 36-40 at the bottom of the page

http://www.callercomplaints.com/articles/Make500.aspx
"The Telephone Consumer Protection Act, passed by Congress in 1991, sets out precise rules for telemarketers to follow. For example, one of these rules says that they must maintain a written Do Not Call policy, which they are required to send you upon request. Another rule is that you may ask to be placed on the firm?s Do Not Call list.

"And here?s the clincher: if the company breaks either of these rules, or a whole host of others, they will owe you $500-$1500 per violation, which you can receive by filing a complaint in your local Small Claims Court.

"If the calls stop, then you?ve won (because they?ve stopped calling you)! But if they do not, or if you do not receive a copy of their policy, then? you?ve still won ($$$). Record every subsequent call?each one is worth $500 to you?then look up your local Small Claims Court, fill out the 10 minutes of paperwork (usually online), and file a claim."

Here's the info that will make you the happiest:  http://www.fcc.gov/eb/tcd/ufax.html
It's a list of heavy forfeitures being currently proposed.

Now you can take back your power and reclaim your peaceful existence!  Report calls from any of the numbers you have copied from above.  Call them to verify them for yourself, if you wish.  I was told that even 3 complaints registered against any company with the FCC and/or the FTC would lead to its investigation.

Call today 4:36 CST  about expiration  about a warranty on a vehicle , short message left but nothing specific ... I can not imagine that we pay Sprint , Verizon , T mobile ... and on and on and on ... and they would not listen and give us the option to block particular phone numbers ... The National Do not call list is something not very much enforced so to say ... if you want  you can comply if you do not ... then good luck to all of us. It is ridiculous, we are paying to be practically terrorized by people having the wrong perception for marketing and doing business and the phone companies  have left us and we have to spent time on our own to fight this stupidity .

This person "Tubby" did no research at all. He called my office after Googling keywords "Auto Warranty Specialists". He then came up with my company, http://www.warranties4wheels.com. I explained this to him but he was so rude and ignorant, refusing to listen, called me an a***ole and then hung up. He works for Akin Mortgage Company, i have caller ID as well. We do not cold call folks, nor do we have an auto dialer calling homes. We are based in AZ and the IP address is NOT ours as well. I wish people would get 100 percent of the facts to make 100 percent of a decision. He is upset that someone called him, yet this moron gives out an old home address for me. What a hypocrite!

If you want to do business with a quality company please call us at  1 877 844 7283. Thank you!

Garbage about my car warranty expiring.  This scam appears to originate in Southern California (Los Angeles).  This appears to be the work of Great Atlantic Warranty, their website is http://www.gawarranty.com/, or Warranties4Wheels whose website is at http://www.warranties4wheels.com/.  The Internet contact for Warranties4Wheels is Wayne Craig at wayne@warranties4wheels.com located at 13152 West Monte Vista Drive, Goodyear, Arizona 85338.  The phone number for Warranties4Wheels is 623-535-6656.  The IP address for Warranties4Wheels.com is 209.133.237.245.  I did a good amount of Internet research on this.
