called my cell phone.... left a message of people typing and muffled noises in the background

yo they be calling me all the time you i ant picken it up or callin it back but who is it

I received a call from this number as my Verizon account is past due. (Lost my job last year, currently unemployed and drowning in debt but have notified all debtors of my situation including Verizon). The caller left a message stating they were Darlene Kelly for Robert Hask and were calling to set up an interview. When I called the local number 383-7676 back, a man named Alan answered and said it was a wrong number. If I am correct, this is quite a cruel trick collectors are now using on us, dangling a non-existant job interview, in order to get us to call them back probably in order to verify our land line numbers are still working.  Ironical isn't it? I can't begin to imagine how some of these people who prey upon their fellow brothers and sisters who have fallen during these hard economical times sleep at night.

At least there was a person there when I answered the phone!  I didn't give them a chance to tell me why they were calling.  I just transfered the call to my prerecorded message that plays for all credit and collection calls.

Personally, I'm still doing okay through this economy, but I stopped making credit card payments when they raised my interest rate to 29.99% even though I never missed a payment.

Now I'll wait for them to make a settlement offer in the neighborhood of 20% or so...

Keep in mind that if you pay them ANYTHING, the "date of last activity" is reset, allowing them to hassle you for a longer period of time.  Just wait for a settlement offer - and don't forget to make settlement offers to them too - but NEVER simply "make a payment."

I got this calls everyday from my cell phone and house phone. However they have tried to call my work phone after they cant get a hold of me.
The caller ID shows MRS, which is a collection agency for Capital One.

This number call 4 time a day,  and their  no one their, I,m getting tried of this. Who is this.?

This number is now calling every 30 min.  I don't answer no's I don't know who they are from and I am NOT behind on anything!  They don't leave any messages, any time they call...

These folks call every day at various times. But the caller hangs up before you can get to it most times -- other times it ring forever.

I've just quit answering my land line. Anyone who really wants me, leaves a message.

I've reported more than a few of these to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) using the online complaint form. FTC follows up and sends me a copy of the complaint and other info in the snail mail.

They have called 2 times in five minutes it rings for a 1/2 a second, just long enought for the number to show then they hang up.

2 calls today so far.
Called number back and person answered said it was a company called "MRS."
Collection agency.
