This is a shady collection company for payday loans. They use illegal scare tactics like calling all of their agents "officers". They also claim that the Federal government has been notifed of your "crime" and claim the feds have logged your social security number. They tell you that by not payng a payday loan you have commited:

1.) Theft by fraud
2.) Interstate wire fraud
3.) A felony bad check offense

After that, they demand the full amount owed plus $300 in collection fees and refuse to work out any payment arrangements with you. The guy I spoke to said if it wasn't paid within 24 hours, a Federal Marshall would be waiting for me when I came to work. Hey, I owe the money and I'll pay it but these guys that lie and use illegal tactics just piss me off so bad it makes me NIOT want to pay it and just tell them to get bent.

Please people do not send any money I fell for this scam and had money deducted from my account.
They will call you at work and if you are not careful they will really make you believe that you owe money.  After they get your money you will never get any acknowledgement from them that you paid.

Please beware.

You don't need to do anything. It's a SCAM, just like the other posters have said.

If they call back just hang up or put the phone down and do something else. Pretty soon they will get the idea they won't be getting any money from you and move on to someone else.

They called me on thursday and said i had a payday loan with metabank. Said i was being charged with 3 crimes and it was being reported to me work company. really pissed me off and worried me. what do i do? Never banked with them before in my life

This guy called my parents and said I would be in serious trouble if I didn't return the call.  When I called I got some guy with a thick accent telling me I owed a payday loan and I would be in trouble if I didn't pay it.  I don't have a payday loan and didn't apply with anyone.  He told me all the laws I had broken and wanted me to allow them to debit $300 from my bank to pay the loan off.  He gave the name of the bank the loan went to (MetaBank which I've never banked with) and a routing number along with a check account number.  I called both the loan company they said I owed (Cash USA) and MetaBank.  Both companies informed me that a lot of people had been calling in about these phone calls and that they were a scam.

My sister received the call last night first from a dot head women than a dot head man today they said that they will tap her phone they were looking for me about a pay day loan that I took called both the pay day loans when I had them on my cell phone. I told them it was a prank and fraud and he told that I was pissing him off. After I noticed it was a fraud. I called back and told him I was an attorney and that I knew that this was a fraud he called me some choice names and hung up. The pay day loan gave me a phone number to call tomorrow to report this. What a Day.. They even called my work.

I also received several phone calls from this "Officer Andy Brown" from Department of Law Investigations starting on the 30th of March and has continued daily since. He has called my employer demanding to speak with me regarding a serious urgent matter, speaking in a thick Indian accent, as the other victims have described! He has called my references he obtained, stating that if I did not pay the $720, to clear my name, for nonpayment of this supposed Payday loan (which, a year ago, I did apply for, but then quickly cancelled after I read the fine print and looked them up on the BBB website. Therefore, not receiving any money from them!), I would be sent court papers and be arrested for fraud. Although I know there is no evidence supporting his claim, he knows my Social Security Number, and I am now affraid of being a victim of Identity Theft.

Any suggestions of who to call to report this matter???

i have been having the same people calling my phone. some how they had got my work phone and my grandmothers which she is over 2000 miles away from me. i dont know what i should do. i was told to file a harassment charge with your local police. contact your attorney general.i dont know weather to take this seriously or shrug it off. i dont answer the calls and all i have is the messages. but they all sound the exact same just a different person reading them. when i had spoke to them they were rude calling me a mother fu**er and that i dont matter i am just a bi**h. i need to pay them there money if i dont there is going to be someone to arrest me in a couple of hours.  every number that they have called me from i looked it up and blogs have been written saying it is a fraud number or a number would come up as +0000 a random number like that. i have tried looking around for any information.

these are hindus (red dot indians) calling with heavy accents, but using american names like andy brown and john smith.. they also had very personal information and repeated the same threats without being specific as to the charges.. I immediately recognized them as being a fraud due to the fact that they couldnt identify the correct local courthouse or government entity that they are misrepresenting.. I contacted the police and FBI offices.. We have enough problems with Americans let alone some foriegn hindu scam artist trying to rob American citizens out of their money..

These jokers called me and told me all the laws I had broken regarding my payday loan (never taken a payday loan in my life, but of course now I will check my credit report).  They had my address and last 4 of my SSN which is scary.

Andy Brown was his name........had me worried for 5-10 minutes then I just thought he was funny.

This is a company called Associated Courthouse Services - there is a Mike Daniels and a Jack Warner - they tell you you are being sued and legal action is being taken against you.  I had filed bankruptcy in January of 2010; and they stated I owed some payroll advance service from a payroll loan I took out in March 17, 2008 (which I didn't) - they stated they could not send me papers; they said this had nothing to do with my bankruptcy; I immediately called my bankruptcy attorney and they are going to follow up for me and told me if they called again, that they are not allowed to talk to me and they need to talk to my bankruptcy attorney.  Hope this helps.  Kimmie

I told one of them once that I think they are terrorists and they are scamming people out of their money so they can raise funds for their terrorism, which, actually, is not a far fetched idea.
This pm one of these turds called my wife and said he was Officer Jack Warner and that she had to get back to him real quick because she's in deep trouble.
Soon as we got home, my wife called him and gave the phone to me.
The guy said he was Officer Andy Brown, and I asked officer of what, from what, and he sez Orange County and I say what office at Orange County and which Orange county and he says California, and then he toughens up so he can control the call and says I shouldn't be investigating him before I have even identified myself.
I said my name was Jack Bauer.
The idiot didn't even know who Jack Bauer was.  You know.  24 ?
I said what is the case number, which court is it docketed in, and who's the lawyer my lawyer should get in touch with, and he says he was the senior lawyer for the problem, and Officer Jack Warner was his deputy.
And I asked a  couple more questions and then he fires back, like, "what, do you think I'm a criminal" ?
And I said you sure the hell are.
You're the lowest of the low, you victimize hard working folks like me and my wife, who've been scrimping every penny so we can pay off the goddamned internet payday loan and we don't owe no one nothing because as of this minute we just paid off the last one.
We are honest, hardworking folks who've fed and watched our kids grow with hard-earned money unlike you shitholes who've never earned an honest penny in your life and fed your family with scammed money.
He hung up.
I called the Orange county police to tell them someone was using the Orange County government in a scam, but they said to go through channels, so I called our local cops, and I'm waiting for them now.
I just want these turds in jail where they belong.

I called this number back & I think this is a phone scam.The person that answered had a thick accent.

This # has been calling me for a few weeks now threatning to take me to court. I'm waiting on the county cops to call me back right now. I'll let you know what they say.
