Keep receiving unwanted calls from this number and when I answer they hang up.  They started when I cancelled my subscription to our newspaper, The Pioneer Press.  Would like to stop the calls.

I keep getting calls from them. No one is on the line if I pick up and no message is ever left. Very annoying. I am on the Do Not Cal list and should not be getting these calls.
Caller ID says it is CrossFire 715-254-0261

This number has called me 1x a day every day for weeks. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer and just looked them up online. They don't leave a message. Don't know how they got my number. They are in Wisconsin and I'm in California.

Also filed another complaint on the Fed's DNC list.
I so wish the feds would do something with it to put these harassers outta commission!!

715.254.0261 is St. Paul Pioneer Press.   They keep calling me repeatedly every day.   When I answered the phone and talked to the person, I asked them to take me off their list.   Did they?  NO

I called their St. Paul office and asked them to take me off the call list.   Did they?   NO

Do you really think I'm going to subscribe to the Pioneer Press when I am being harassed?   NO

Have received 3 phone calls in the last 5 hours from these people. It's irritating and I have filed numerous complaints on the Federal Government's DO NOT CALL registry.
Although that doesn't seem to be helping at all.

I'm in California! Why is crossfire calling me and not answering? Really?  Every night around the same time.

I have received numerous calls from this number since electing not to renew my subscription to the St. Paul Pioneer Press after complaining of poor service, when I answer there is no reply and when I try to call the number nothing happens.  I believe that this is just an automated nuisance call to heckle subscribers that cancel or do not renew.

We got two calles today alone. I have never had anything to do with the Pioneer Press so cant be that tie alone. When I have answered it is just dead air. no sound at all. I did place a complaint with the National do not call site. I am just going to continue to do that every time I get a call like this. I also get one that says no name only "New York" on the caller ID

Calls twice a day for the last 2 weeks....no one ever on the other end so I can not tell them to stop calling.  Am getting really tired of this!

To stop harassing phone calls from Crossfire who work for Minnesota Pioneer Press newspaper - send email to name below.  This is the response I received.  She wrote:

Love your suggestion and I am doing it tomorrow.  I too have been harassed for over a month by Pioneer Press.  I have current names published in the paper today that will be receiving emails from me - They call 2-3 times a day using different phone numbers.  I do not want to restart this newspaper and will never do business with them again.  TY for the information.

WOOO HOOO!!!  Here is how I got them to stop in one day!!  I sent an email to:

- Guy Gilmore is the Pioneer Press Publisher (The Head Honshow)
- Andrew Mok is the VP of Circulation and Technology
- Adel Ibrahim, The guy in charge of bring Crossfire into the Pioneer Press World
- Watchdog is the consumer advocate at the Pioneer Press

In a 2 day time frame I received 27 dead air calls and voicemails with dead air.  Within minutes of sending the email to all of the above,  I got results!!  All they needed was the number that Crossfire kept calling.  

I had a long email string as I wanted some assurances:
- That my number only be used to remove me from any campaigns
- What was the original purpose of their calls
- An Apology

Andrew Mok responded back to me with my name spelled incorrectly - so I needed an assurance that they had the right name.  He didn't apologize for the mistake (typical - Pioneer Press VP)

MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE ALL THE THE EMAIL ADDRESSES ON ANY RESPONSES.  Andrew Mok has a habit of leaving his boss, Guy Gilmore, off any responses.

If enough people do this, maybe they will get the hint that Crossfire is not the way to do business (IMHO)!!

I could make the exact same comment as you did, I too have never had an affiliation with the Pioneer Press, yet I am getting calls from both the 715-254-0261 number and the 702-553-0512 number on a daily basis. I also have a fax number that they have been trying to call as well. To call them back and tell them to stop gets me nowhere! Have you had any luck?

2 calls in 2 days. I usually don't answer the phone whn I don't know the number. I have no idea why they be calling. Nothing with pioneer press.

This is interesting that some people may associate this with the Pioneer Press. We too have been trying to cancel our subscription and these calls started about then. They call at least twice a day but I don't answer calls where I don't know who's calling. Maybe I will answer this one though and let them know I don't appreciate the phone call.

Do not call again!  I am sick of the tactics St. Paul Pioneer Press uses to worm around the do not call lists.  I will report you to the attorney general!

These calls are coming from a company at Crossfirenewspapergroup.com.  They obviously are contracted by newspapers to either find new subscribers or recover lost subscriptions.  Their website brags that they can raise subscriptions 40% and have a lost subscription recovery rate of up to 70%.

I finally answered a Crossfire call that asked about PioneerPress subscriptions - I am not and have never been a subscriber.  I sent an email to infodesk@pioneerpress.com that found its way to a customer service manager.  She promised to put a stop to the calls to my number.

If enough of us complain to the PioneerPress, maybe they can get a clue, fire Crossfire and put an end to all of these annoying calls

I have never been a subscriber of the Pioneer Press, but have recieved numerous calls from this number with Crossfire in the caller ID.  It is part of the Crossfire Newspaper Group.  This is a company that the Pioneer Press obviously contracts with to telemarket and recover lost subscriptions.  Crossfirenewpapergroup.com brags a 40% close rate on telemarketing and up to a 70% save rate on subscriptions.  I would suggest you contact the Pioneer Press and voice your dissatisfaction and annoyance with recieving these calls.  

I sent an email to infodesk at pioneerpress.com that got forwarded to a customer service manager that promises to put a stop to the repeated calls.  Maybe if they hear from enough of us, they will fire Crossfire and put a stop to the calls once and for all.
