The scamers are using local area codes and numbers to try and get you to pick up the phone.
Do not do it! Just block the fools. it's very easy to spoof caller ID's now!
Get a call blocker!
We used to get so many calls. Got a blocker and the calls have trickled down to may one a week or less.
If a new number start I just block it. Eventually they give up calling. Sweet!!

This call was supposedly from a Vietnam Veterans Association. All they had was the first letter of my first name and my last name, which is how it is listed in the phone book. The person had a foreign accent. I told her I couldn't help her and hung up.
There must be a new crop of nuisance/scam companies out there. Our phone was quiet for a little while, but it's starting up again. I've even had a few on my cell phone.

Got two calls in a row from this scam energy company. They call many times with different numbers. These calls are ruthless, relentless, and just plain wrong. STOP CALLING! I will NEVER pick up...

Asked if Mr or Mrs so and so was home. I asked who was calling. He said are they home. I asked who was calling and what it pertained to. He would not say and was very grumpy, said he would call back. I said DON'T. Blocked the number.

The number is similar to the scam telemarketer trying to get you to switch electricity providers. They have called before under 717-253-9791.

Same exact thing just happened to me. sked for my husband and rushed through his name, James Andrews, then hung up. Freaking me out!

Did you ever find out who this was? I just got a call and picked it up. The guy asked for my husband and when I said he wasn't available he rushed through his name and quickly hung up. Said his name was James Andrews I think. Thanks.

Just got a call from this number. Caller ID read "Spring Grove PA". I gonna' block it.

Same thing is happening to me. I do know that this person is in Spring Grove, PA. Will find out more from the police dept. soon though. The idiots out there really need to find something better to do. Several family members are police officers so we will get to the bottom of it.

This number calls 3 or more times a day. Before I'm even up, trying to enjoy dinner, in the evening relaxing. I never answer the phone if I don't know who's calling, but I still have to stop what I'm doing to check the CID. Very annoying - I'm considering cancelling my landline and just going with my cell.
