A man with a heavy middle eastern accent called me at work on 02/07/12 claiming l owed money on a defaulted loan from Advance America. He said his name was Tony Almeda and was calling from the law office of Richard Ross in New York. He recited my SS#, address, phone #, my bank and acct information and my email address. He obviously knew where I worked which is in surgery (that direct number is not listed) and my director's name. I've never taken out a loan with Advance America, but since he had all my personal information I immediately thought idenity theft. He told me he had to read my arrest affadavit to me and that a sheriff's deputy would be arresting me the following morning at work. He said I would be dragged before a judge and have to pay $5,484 and would need an attorney present. Since he had just broken numerous FDCPA laws I then realized this was a scam. I asked to speak to his supervisor wanting to obtain more information about these scam artists. After placing me on hold for a few seconds the same man came on now calling himself Steve Fox. I started laughing at him and said what's next "My name is Peggy"? I said this is such a joke and you're nothing but a scam. He then became very angry, threating me and said I had to talk to another supervisor because he was sending the authorities to pick me up immediately. A different man picked up calling himself Kevin Miller, but still with a heavy accent. He said he was calling my supervisor immediately to inform her I had stolen federal money and would be arrested. He said if I decided to cooperate I could call him back at 718-732-0171. I notified my bank immediately. When I checked the number for reverse lookup it came up Alma Sehovic. Beware of these names calling from that number. How they knew all my personal info is really frightening.

I had someone call my husbands work, cell and house phone telling us good luck they was going to get my husband on fraud.  They contacted my husbands boss and said we needed a lawyer and they would be suing my husband and his employment of work.  I asked why did they wait the day before to be call and let us know.  There was a few calls made all in the same day and different names was used, but sounded like the same guy...  They said we had a outstanding bill of 5,965.00 and would settle today for 1,095.00 and wanted all of our info I asked what comany they was calling about and then called the company direct they said it was scam and to disreguard it, so I guess we will see.  I called back the company that was calling and told them we made arrangements with the company direct and he was like well good luck and hopefully the judge will go easy on you because we are going to make an example out of you!

I have no idea what these people are saying. Their accent is so thick, 1st a man called then a woman. Both have the same accent seems like that are tag teaming. Anyway if you have MR. #  use it it works wonderful.

Just an FYI folks ...These people are scam artists..If you ever had a payday loan or any other  unsecured transaction over the internet, even if your items were paid off,your information was sold to these scammers. (They suspect it was sold by a man in FL who was sued by the govt) Anyway, they will threaten you with a lawsuit and arrests and they say the same script everytime they call. Usuallythey use American sounding names. Do not speak with them but if you do, do not give them any information or confirm what they have.

I reveived a phone call from this man and number who told me i was going to be arrested and lawsuites with all kinds if other crap that i had no idea on what he was talking about or had any knowledge of. I could barely understand a word he was saying. He had all my information about me I dont know whats going on or what hes talking about but I hope he dont  call me again. I dont know how he got my information but its scary!!

Called from a pay phone 714-535-1665 and left message threatening legal action.  Message was to call 718-732-0171.
Nut or scam can't tell but will alert authorities if it continues.

This number has called me twice at work now.  It started yesterday and he threatened me on my voice mail telling me it would be in my best interest to call him back and he wished me luck.  Today I got the call again - I took the call and told him to never call my job again and asked for his number.  I did call him back and asked to speak with someone who I could speak good English...he said there was no one that that could but they could speak German?  Hopefully they won't call back.

I recieved a call from this number and when I called it back,Then man hang up the phone on me.I do not know why anyone calling me about something legal because I filled for bankrupty last year and it was discharged last year.Plus the number they are calling me on is my cell phone number.
