this call is from INDIA a call centre possibly routed through the USA as not all caller IDs recognise international numbers correctly

Cold call used to ask if I had had a car accident in the last 3 years told them I was not interested at all in the call and that I didn't have a car and had NEVER been in a car accident as I am housebound, but it didn't stop him from going on and on asking me questions I just hung up

This caller had a Indian accent (from India) this is not the first time that I have had a call from this number - I have also had a few days ago about a virus on my computer.

I am x-directory and use the tps what use are those when councils, banks, utility companies, comparison services, amongst a few sell your information on it should be punished by law when these companies do that especilly when you specifically request on their own sites or via telephone for them not to pass on your information!

The really bad thing is that because these companies calling your are in a call centre in another country that are not liable to the laws of our own country!

Got a call from them last night.  Said my windows computer had an issue.  I asked which one?  I asked the IP address.  All he gave me were the last six digits of the computer ID??  I was bored and kept him going.  I asked him if my IPad had a problem?  How about my Linux computer?  He was getting frustrated.  So I'd throw him a bone like "this sounds really serious".  I asked how they got my phone number and he'd just repeat I have a problem.  I asked which windows machine had the problem?  What was the OS?  XP, 7, 8?  He finally hung up.

Today I just got  a call from the same number, speaking a woman.Asked am I seaching for a IT feild job ( i actually aploaded and applied for some job positions in Canada).She said working for a rec agency.Promised to send email and add in skype me.

Had a call both today and yesterday from this number saying his name is John from Microsoft (heavy Indian accent). Both days I told him I knew he was trying to scam me but he tried to deny it.  I asked for the mailing address of the company he works for and all he said is that it is in Bedford, England.  I asked for the phone number to call him back on and he said 2097534857.  I asked for the dialling code and he said it is an English number and you do not need a dialling code.  News to me, being English born and bred!  In the end I told him that if he phones again and I ever find him .........

760-733-9957 foreign guy claimed to be tech guy who had worked on my pc a few months ago and wanted to update some of the software he claims he had put on my computer. SCAM

Called me saying he was from windows and that my computer was throwing error messages and that he wanted me to get on my computer so he could fix them.  Told him I was busy and hung up

Foreign guy calls and asks about my missing 2 cats who have been missing over a month.  

Hi - I got the same call today - guy could have been from TO because he had an East Indian accent - my wife received the same call . We both hung up. I guess they want the person to give them access to their computer so that they can go through it and get whatever information that they can get from the cookies etc. My computer was shut down at the time and I have finally convinced my wife that if you dont call them dont trust THEM. I didnt receive a call back - so I guess it was a scam - seems to me that this number could be shut down.

just had the same number call me here in south africa, im an I.T tech and i know what he was trying to do from the start so i played dump with him for atleast 40+ min and in the end i laid into him that i know that he trying to gain access to my desktop so they can do what ever they want etc (nothing good), he was swearing like a sailor at me. play dump with these guys just never install or change settings but keep them on the hook and when you feel you have had enough you end it. was fun for me :)

They called me and said that my computer was being hacked and had a virus. Said they were from Microsoft. SCAM

Got a call from this dumb-dumb today, I asked where he was calling from and he said India, I asked they why does my called id say you're calling from a pay-phone in the 760 area code, he said that's to fool people, I was a little surprised, I said so you're trying to fool people and you want to sell me something, he went on without a hitch, so I let him talk, he went on about my computer needs work and how much he knows about computers and could help me, well I'm a network engineer and I know a lot about computers so I asked him some questions he could not answer, his accent started to slip and I could tell he was getting frustrated, he ended up cursing at me and hung up. I have received calls like this before from people in prison trying to get credit card numbers, the Vista Detention Facility is in the 760 area code.

Got a call from "John" who claimed he was my computer technician and that they had noticed that my computer had issues. I'm familiar with this tech support scam, so didn't waste time talking to him.

Received a call from these creeps - a guy with a heavy middle eastern accent asked me to go onto my computer and give him my sign on. Yeah right. He was very hard to understand, so I asked for his manager, and another creep, with the same heavy accent, immediately spoke up and asked for the same info. Told them I was not interested but they tried to keep me on the line as long as they could. I called the number back but it just sounded like a fax machine. I'm on the no call list and they still managed to call me. If they call you, don't give them any info and, by all means, don't let them take over your computer. But if you want to keep them on the line and harass them a while, go for it.

Not used FB in a few days as soon s I popped some photos on today I got this call. Facebook is from California so I guess it's a scam to do with Facebook, perhaps someone hacking it and getting users numbers from it!

They wiped out over 4000 family photos while distracting me by swearing at me because I wouldn't pay them $50 for their "Warranty Service".  Do Not give anyone access to your computer!! And yes, I should know better.  Other numbers used: 630-8599364. And 618-4631412

Kept calling for days/ weeks now. Say they are from Microsoft and I had big problems with my computer that they could solve. Claims that the call is from Florida. Told me that they had all my information and my Microsoft licencekey. When I asked them to send me a email with all the information, they told me that that was not possible for privacy reasons.

After telling them it was a scam and I would put them trough with the police departement, they hang up.

Answered call, no one on the line...  This is the 3rd time today that I received a call like this, but from a different number...

Got a call from 760-733-9957 caller id said pay phone, said they were with microsoft and people were using my isp and also put viruses on my computer. To make a long story short they charged my bank account $208. Which I am in the proces of trying to get returned. Note: they did put NORTON ANTI_VIRUS ON MY COMPUTER

They have called from 3 different numbers now, this number, 818-890-6843, and 516-746-9347 all use the ID "PAYPHONE".  I did not answer any of the 3.  I wonder how many different numbers they have

These Packies phoning either to fix your alledgely infected computer, OR  want to clean your duct work  OR they are Tamil Tigers doing some canvassing.  These b*****ds come all from the same basket.  They are w**kers and crooks

It's still from the same w**kers:  you know, those crooks with a p*** accent and want either to clean your duct at home or get into your compter pretendenting there is a virus.

I am in Newfoundland Canada and just got the scam of my Windows computer is reporting problems.

Man with thick accent tells you that you have qualified to receive a $9,000 government grant. All he needs is your bank account or debit card Info so that the money can be transferred to your account. What a crock!!! Don?t fall for it!!!

I got a call from this guy. Very heavy Indian accent. He claims my computer is infected with a virus and that
he was from Microsoft. I asked him if he could tell if I am connected online with my computer and he just said
he needs to connect to it. I said, if you are a computer expert, tell me if I am connected or not. He hung up.
East Indians becoming arrogant. They think they are the only ones who know computers.

I just got a call from this number 760-733-9957 which also comes up as payphone. They claimed to be from MicroSoft and that my computers where sending out error messages to them. She wanted me to open up my resgistry file for her to which I told her you are full of s*** and a scammer. Funny she lost her accent and laughed and said OK do and hung up.
MicroSoft does not call you at home and want to get into your registry files!!

Just got the same call, man with heavy accent trying to convince me he was from Microsoft and gave me his number to call back 1-800-500-44600. When I questioned that number he said he was calling from New Jersey. I told him I was going to check on this number on the internet right away and he hung up

This j***off called me and told me that he was from Ceylan, a microsoft support center and that I needed to log on to my computer and change my security settings, I told him I didn't have a computer so he asked how I do my online banking and I told him he was a liar and hung up what a crock!

Words changed from windows to microsoft. Same accent as usual. Called themselves something like Ceylon Technical

This number calls asking for me. I finally answered and he said is this Allen. I stated yes then he hung up. I dialed the number back and it was a fax tone.

This number comes through as a payphone on caller id, but it is a scam
