Political Call
I've had numerous calls from this # on my call display...never been home, so there was no message.  If you are a political party making robo calls, at least leave a message. If I don't like it, I will just hang up, just like I did after I answered...and... please don't call me on Mother's Day to wish me a happy mother's day...how tacky and...disgusting.  Luckily, I already voted or...I might have been swayed by the nice thought, Ha!

Political Call
I just received a call from this number for the Liberals and they left a message about  an over the phone town hall meeting set for Monday May 6th at 7pm - they advised if I wanted to partake to stay by my phone around that time and when it rings I'd be included in the discussion to listen or ask any questions.

It's unfortunate there are people like you, who blabber without any basis in fact.  It's even more unfortunate that there are people who believe anything they read without seeking out the facts for themselves.
Show where the NDP have made these statements. I follow pretty closely and have seen no mention of them.
As for past history, again check your facts. The provincial deficits and the debt have been very close to equal during the ten years each party has been in power. Check it out.
By the way, I think I'll vote Green.

Can you imagine the NDP being in power in B.C.  The Big Unions would make all the decision for them, would be total embarasment.

The NDP were not the Social Credit Party.  They were the competitors of the Socreds back in the 60's 70's and 80's.  The Social Credit Party was the right of center party, the NDP, as they are now, somewhat left of center (I don't really like right/left labels, but sometimes it is the easiest way to make the distinction).  Back in 1972 the NDP got in for the first time, defeating the Socreds who had been in power since the 1950's.

It happen years ago and they put the Province in the dumps. It will make my business grow and I'll make lots of money. But you will all suffer when we vote the balanced govenment back in in 5 or 7 years

Yep - I said it a little more delicately and with a lot more words, but I do agree w/u in a big way.  The winds are shifting. Older ppl tell me NDP used to be called 'Social Credit' and they got blamed when there was an economic downturn and they raised biz taxes, ,etc. to save social programs and got skewered for it, even though it was largely circumstantial, and during a crisis a gov't has to decide where to spend its $.  I guess turnabout's fair play   It's not 1972 anymore.  It's a new world, I just wish the Left wouldn't split themselves up to allow united rightwing scammer gov'ts to get elected when most ppl don't agree with them, they just turn out their core bloc, and divide and conquer.  Why that still works, the oldest trick in the book, you tell me - same in the USA.  But I think ppl are getting wise now.  Hope yr not trolling, or trying to scare centrist voters back to the Libs, but thank you if you are a true liberal and not a BC 'Liberal' conservative. - M/Kroakers

Political Call
I'm in a band - Kroakers - on tour here; I did get a form of PR by having property in BC, but...I'm not registered to vote - I'm from the U.S. and still a citizen.  Already voted - in 2012, November.  Wish I could vote here - I see so many disenfranchised that I'm starting to become disenfranchised; I thought I was from the country whose politics were among the most deceptive and exclusive.

But...to confirm - thank you, BC 'Liberal' Party for the Sat morning wakeup call.  It's a *robocall* - Saturday morning (today, a while ago) and this is the 3rd time they called; once was at about 7:58 on Sunday, another was just before 9pm last week, now today.

The robocall will not leave a message, *but* now, Kendry and others, supposedly (and I know this is a trick others use to confirm whether your # is active, as the computer just goes by area code/exchange, like 604-882-0001-604-882-9999-604-883-0001, and so on.  But I called them back on a Wi-Fi line I use for just such a purpose - get a disposable phone #, like an app....hope this doesn't break the rules, but you can use 'Line', 'Fongo', or many free Android/smartphone apps to get these #s, then sign up for new ones.

If you call the # back, they do answer, it's a little garbled at the beginning but you do get the '...Liberal Party.  If we disturbed you, we are sorry and will call back at another time.  If you'd not like us to call you, or go on the 'do not call' list, phone blah blah blah and ask to be put on the DNC list.  I'm too tired to bother, and I also want to catch a call from them to have my voice heard - there's no other way for me or anyone, until the election, so I'd expect lots more, but will answer their 3-5 min questionnare.

Honestly?  At least in the U.S., a Repub is a Repub and a Demo a Demo both federally and state.  You kinda know what each party does and what they stand for both nationally and in state governments.  I admire Canada's system in theory, i.e., the NDP, Greens, etc. can exist and exert political power, and even have a chance at getting enough of the vote eventually to change political dynamics.  OTOH, the national Libs are actually fairly well-named - a centre-left party.  It took me quite a while to catch on to the semantic games played in B.C. - the provincial Liberals are actually centre-right for provincial positions (premier, non-national offices), the NDP would be the more centre-left, and the Greens further left, the MJ party bears mention, and other than fringe parties, that's it (I think),.  But...I cannot stand the nomenclature - the 'name game' - there's nothing 'liberal' about the B.C. 'Liberal' party; that ideological space goes to the NDP if anyone, and it confounds voters here not only provincially, but for national elections.

My uncle espouses NDP politics by nature of his worldview, but registers Liberal provincially and gets his number on all the donation lists because he thinks B.C. Liberals have an agenda similar to the Federal libs.  He's elderly.  It's not right.  Robocalls are banned in many states.  What's up w/Canada?  I actually did answer my uncle's phone once by mistake, and got this # or something close.  At least they're not selling or asking for donations (yet?)  - it's a political survey.

They're worried about losing to the NDP in upcoming elections, quickly lost a 17 point lead in polls in the last few weeks, and wanna know why, so they're doing surveys to not only screen potential candidates in different ridings (focusing on Vancouver and Surrey, as of late, in swing districts; because of number porting and cell phone use to port a Surrey number to, say, Port Moody, and technically your phone # is still in the swing district even if you vote somewhere else.  You can see the summary by the website's trace function shows the # is a Bby/Sry/YVR prefix #) but also use the surveys to figure out why voters suddenly abandoned in droves.  HST put back?  Leadership crises?  Budget? (lots of bad press there recently)...Pipeline support? Hmm...

Sorry in advance for the long post; I did put the proper info in, but commentary is for other political-type people who might not answer if they think it's a collector or telemarketer, or the party soliciting $.  They just want to know, no matter who you vote for, what they did wrong.  Doesn't take a robot or survey rocket scientist to crunch numbers, but answer if you're inclined that way  - you press buttons to show approval/disapproval, so hopefully if enough ppl answer they'll get the sample they need to figure themselves out (and stop re-calling the unwanted numbers).  Hopefully right out of power.  Thanks, all.  Wish I could vote other than on surveys. - maybe someday luv, any fans see this, holler - otherwise nice to meet you all - I use this site a lot to find out who's messing with my # and it's saved me from scams, so thanks.   Mic - Kroakers.  Come see us sometime.  Cheers.
