Received a phone call from the same number stating they were Martinez and Associates.  Said I had also committed fraud and they were pursuing legal action and were going to have me terminated from my job.  Very thick accent also.  Has scam written all over it.

This number called me harassing my employer, the name left was not the name on the machine when I called back.... Law Firm of Martinez, a Frank Jefferson is total complete b.s..... huge scam because nobody and I mean nobody can arrest for unpaid credit card debt...  funny when I actually tried calling back I only get a machine??? Huge huge scam

This company called to try and scam me out of $384.56 for an alleged bad debt. What they did not realize is that they were claiming this against my child. They had false information and refused to send anything in writing, but made threatening remarks about my child. They did not know that they were speaking about a minor--they obviously found information online and used it to try and get me to pay funds. I have checked this out and this group has been trying to scam hundreds of people for money. The Caller was John Gibson and claimed to be a senior attorney at Martinez and Associates in Lawrence Kansas. There is no such company.

I received a threatening call from John Gibson, Martinez and Assoc. As soon he began accusing my teenage daughter of theft,  me knowing that she has never been exposed to this circumstance, I asked for full disclosure and a written complaint. He said I would have to get it from the courthouse. I then told him I am an attorney and he got scared and started saying he would just see me in court... I look forward to that! This is a scam and this group has tapped into online applications for payday loans or such to find out enough to call and scare people. It is clear that an attorney could not disclose information about  my daughter to me if she were in fact in some kind of issue. That in itself is illegal. Don't be afraid to call their bluff. I have filed several legal complaints against the calls, and the situation. Continue to post your situation, so that the public can be aware of the trash out there trying to take advantage of innocent people.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CALLING ME AT WORK, SAYING THEY HAVE A CASE ABOUT A PAYDAY LOAN, WHICH I HAVE NEVER APPLIED FOR OR RECIEVED. TOLD THEM TO SUE ME, AND I WOULD SEE THEM IN COURT.  LOL

guys, they got me. they ask me to pay them with green dot money pak and i did give the number. but i found out it was scam, i quickly called greendot and told them. they said you lucky, you called us less then a hour. so they told me to file a police report, which im doing it and they refund my money..... please spread this as much as yall can, for the innocent people like me out there.

I received a threatening phone call from this number indicating they would put a warrant out for me due to an unpaid loan.

Yes, I received a call from this number as well claiming they were from Martinez and Associates.  Very thick accent.  They indicated they had a complaint under my ss# and are currently pursuing legal action against me.

GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER FROM INDA SPEAKING PEOPLE THREATING TO ARREST ME IF I DONT PAY AND IF I DONT THEY SAID GOOD LUCK. THEY ARE A SCAM I BELIEVE.

We've been getting phone calls from this "agency", calling for someone named Michael Chapman. They also had another number, 855-607-0460. The other day, a woman had made the call.

We've been calling them back with various messages, and on occasion, they pick up. ;-) It's been entertaining to say the least.

If you have a smart phone, download a call blocker I use Call control for android. It just dumps the call. As far as them calling his place of employment, next time they call, tell them you KNOW it is a scam and start repeating, no money, no money no money.... over and over and then wait for them to hang up. Eventually they will leave you alone. I f*** with them completely....

We called the local police, the BBB, and the federal trade commission. We r also going to contact local state reps. The more people(government) are made aware with these complaints the more it should click and they will do something to hopefully stop them.

Hey we just go taken for a lot of money...it seemed so real and we were afraid to go to jail. One of the names he used was Jason Stark from Martinez and Associates. He is now calling my husbands work. We even had the police call the number and they answered like a home phone. We are very upset about this. How can we get them to stop calling?

What ever you do DON'T call them back or talk to them. They are people who try to scare you into paying money.

These people are seriously going to make me mad. Go find real jobs and quit doing scams. They speak with accents you can't understand and have American names. Whatever you do DON'T talk with them, don't call them back. I forward them to my local police station. Keeps them off my back for a little bit.

I just received the same phone call, he said his name was Mr. Hopkins with law firm Martinez and Associates.  I didn't call them back.  Very threatening, said I was in trouble and I need to call him back now, don't disregard this message or he was going to call (someone I couldn't make it out, very hard to understand).

785-371-3081 called me 3 times today. Russell Hopkins with Martinez and Associates is who he identifed himself as. Very heavy accent, hard to understand. Voicemail message was that he received a lawsuit attached to my SSN and even knew the last 4 of my SSN and that I contact him immediately. I called him back and got an answering machine, left a message and he immediately called me back. When I advised that I knew this was a scam, he told me he was contacting my local police department and there will be a warrant to have me arrestested. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and I advise everyone else to do so as well. Also, I received a similar call yesterday from 813-336-0846, called my cell and work #. When I advised him that I knew it was a scam he hung up on me immediately. I tried calling back multiple times but they would not take my call. How do we stop this? Of course I freak out immediately cause I've never had this done to me. Should the proper authorities be alterted as well?

These same people did the same thing to me on today. But I'm going to call Lisa Madigan and give her this information, so that I can file a lawsuit. They firstleft a message on my voicemail because I was at work, stating that they were going to have me arrested because I didn't pay a Loan. I never took a Loan out. Then I finally reached them they said that they were from a Law Firm called Martinez Law Firm @ Associates. They wanted me to give them my social, I didn't so they get an attitutde and start hollaring and screaming at me. But I'm filing for a lawsuit because I have them recorded hollaring at me and calling me a Criminal.

this is a huge SCAM. My girlfriend got a call from this number saying he was james parker. saying i used her SSN to commit fraud. this has been going on since the begining of 2012. they use different numbers and names. but it sounds like the same guy calling everytime. what ever you do do not send them money. go to your local police department and file a case. get a case number and your local police phone number. when these people call you again give them the case number and police number.

They did the same to us, after you protect yourself call them with any loud and rude sounds you can find fill the voice mail and just let it play for them as wel. Block the call with*67 try it it should work from your house and cell phone. Test it , it worked for my freind.

This is a scam, I suggest that you call them back and fill their voice mail will anything you can think of you-tube  is a bih help I hope everyone does this. They called my wife and scaried her also.

I just received a similar call a few minutes ago. I couldn't fully understand the message but I believe the guy said attorney James Parker or Barker. Fortunately, I do indeed have an attorney and have forwarded the information onward.

They just called me and said I was rude, because I wanted to know what they where calling for. HE said I am taking your tax return and having a warrent put out for my arrest.

It's a scam they called me before n when I didn't want to give them money n told them I was gonna talked to my lawyer n police he started to cuss me out I just started laughing n they hung up..they call my number like 2 times a year n its a different number everytime..
