I called 24/7 Locksmith.  A guy who presented a card that simply said "Locksmith Services" came to the house.  He wrote a receipt from a book with "Locksmith Service" printed on it, and "Aaarow Locksmith" stamped.  Hard to tell who you're doing business with it, but got this name from the website rubber stamped on the receipt.  What a ripoff. These people (well, one guy) came to my house after I called their number and was promised they were going to provide me a "Lexus quality" key.  I took that to mean original equipment or, more likely since the locksmith is not the Lexus dealer, its equivalent.  The locksmith provided me with two keys, NOT ANYTHING LIKE original equipment Lexus keys, lacking key-less remote, panic button, etc. Just the key, and the programmed chip.  I said, that's not what I was promised, and asked why.  He said the key-less remote fob with panic button would have cost me an extra $100.00.  But, he offered, if I'd pay him $600 for these two keys, and if I'd order the hardware for the other key fob, he'd come back and program it for "free."

Fast forward: I get the hardware and call him to come to the house and program it.  The locksmith says, "Oh, THAT kind of key? Well, I'll have to have another $200 to program that."  What other *$%^& kind of key did you think I could possibly have meant, I thought.  And I asked him that, without the profanity. He stuck to his story.

I say this business owner seriously misrepresented the kind and quality of goods and services to be provided. I'm considering suing in small claims for the cost of having someone else do this work.

Scam locksmith.  Not local to San Diego.  

Un-licensed, no business license with the state, no workers comp, etc.  I'd be very afraid of using this kind of scam company. Tries to look local, but is not.
