This company is a total scam! They say they will settle your debt for a lower amount than owed but they don't tell you of all the negative things that happen in the process. First of all, if your debt is settled for a lesser amount it will have an effect on your credit score and your tax return. The debt that you don't pay is listed as income when you file your taxes and it shows up on your credit that you settled for less than the amount owed. The debt mediation company takes your money and does nothing in return, granted if you have minimal debt they might be able to help settle but if you have a large amount you are screwed. They take your money and put it in an escrow account so they can start a savings that they will then use to settle your debt, unfortunately the fees you pay for the first 6 months are so much that you hardly have any of that money going into your savings. Oh and I forgot to mention they tell you not to make any more payments on your accounts and do not tell your creditors that you are enrolled in the program. I realized that they don't want you to tell your creditors because they would explain to you how much of a scam this company is. After the first few missed payments the flood gates open and the creditors will call nonstop, then the fun begins. You get hit with a lawsuit for the total amount of your debt owed and lawyer fees for the creditor. Now you have to pay for a lawyer and take time off work to appear in court, more money down the drain. I was with this company for 6 months, I know "total idiot", I finally cancelled with them and it was like pulling teeth to get my refund for the money that was in my savings back. Now I have to look at getting a lawyer so I can get the rest of my money from them for all the fees I paid for their so called "service". They did absolutely nothing for me and ravaged my credit score in return. Do not trust American Debt Mediators or Global Client Solutions, they are out to get your money and they will do nothing for you in return. When I finally started talking to my creditors again I had asked if anyone from American Debt Mediators had contacted them and not one of the creditors got a phone call or email or any type of correspndance from American Debt Mediators. Please do not trust them!!!

I have been working with American Debt Mediators for 2 months of my 36, I did all the research and was skeptical at first and then I searched for everyone's name that I spoke with and found everyone of them on Facebook and they all talk about thir job and how they are helping get people out of debt. My monthly payments were cut in half. They other amazing thing with them is if you hav something come up and can't make your payment you give a call and they will adjust your payment to eithe something you can afford or waive I the month and you settle it up later. I have only heard good reviews from people who have called and bad reviews from ones that see the letter and atomatically see a SCAM but all you have to do is call and you don't have to do anything tht you don't want to do. But if you are drowning in monthly minimum payments and not getting anywhere give them a call.

You people are ignorant. You have no clue what debt negotiation is about. If you're not experts in the financial industry you shouldn't open your mouth regarding a company that you have no clue about. BBB does have information on the company.. Clearly when you look up BBB the company information is provided and although the rating is poor is because BBB does not recognize the industry. If you click on reason for rating it will clearly say this industry is not recognized. Know your facts do your research and call then and become debt free. You only have one life to live.

I read a lot of these posts. Honestly, if you can't pay off the debt you make from credit cards in a month. You can't afford the debt. Most are making minimum payments or a little more. Carrying balances of 15k and higher and by the time they finish paying it off would have paid double to four times the amount. The real issue is spending beyond your means, and a lack of strong savings. Your credit score means nothing if you you bring in 3000 a month but are paying out 2500 or more a month and carrying unsecured- no value adding debt...unlike secured debt which is tangible debt. Now, fortunately there are a few who use unsecured debt to grow their business and other real things. But, most, just shop, incur debt beyond their means and then live paycheck to paycheck.  They don't need credit because a good credit score is only getting them into more debt. They should just settle the debt and cut up the cards and go to debt cards and live within their means.

You got that backwards. The DUMB people are those who let you trick them out of money.

Sites like this make it tough to do that over the phone now, don't they? Well, it's back to the boiler room with you, better hope the next sucker you call doesn't know about this site!

I'm unaware of any changes with their name.
Nevertheless I don't care. Alot of you are probably drowning in debt. Paying just the minimums but but getting anywhere. I was in that situation and they helped me. There's nothing I could really say bad about this company. I feel bad for you all. You get on here because you received a damn piece of mail that's an offer to help you. As consumers we have rights and we have programs that are established to help us when we need it. I went through a divorce lost alot and needed help. I applied for other programs but I was denied. They have me a chance. So instead of wasting time on these websites go do your research. If you got the letter just cut the s*** and admit to your debt. Stop being in denial. You need help just like I needed help. Stop making these banks richer.

You should be ashamed of yourself--shilling for this group of scammers.  If they're so wonderful, why do they find it necessary to keep changing their name?  My letter arrived today from "American Debt Mediators" at the same Dallas address as all the others.  If you have any connection at all with these people, you are a complete moral failure as a human being.

Credit Resolutions Advisors just sent us a letter inferring we were behind on our debt and they could lower that debt for us.  We live in Indiana and do not have any delinquent debt.  The address CRA used are the same, 6860 Dallas Parkway, Suite 200, Plano, TX 75024; however, today, December 15, 2012, they are using 1-800-600-8047.  What a sick manipulator.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THESE A***OLES. They are NOT a collection agency.  They use public records to cull 'customers' who may have had balances in the past and they send what appear to be dunning notices. You are under zero obligation to pay this company a dime. They have an F rating with the BBB for very good reason.  They will try to offer you 'mediation' on accounts that are NOT delinquent and/or may well be fully paid off.  Again, DO NOT WORRY.

They offer other services beyond debt settlement. They gave me two month free of health benefits. No it's not exactly insurance but it's a supplement. I have a discount card and it helps me with my medications.  It's free when you enroll if you qualify.

Seems to me like you all are complaining about the mail but not the services provided. I kept receiving correspondence in the mail and I thought I was in collections with something.I decided to call one day to actually figure out what the company is all about. The person I spoke with was very helpful and informative. This not a scam company they actually do get consumers out of debt. I've been enrolled in the program for 10months and they have already settled two of my smaller accounts. They have a good relationship with the creditors or that's what the gentleman told me. I'm not going to complain at all. I have three small children I was paying high interest payments to these creditors they were able to reduce my payments. Im paying less than half of what I was paying before. They have hardship programs and they're just trying to help. If you can get past the scary letter then your on your way to being debt free. Half of you probably need the program but your reading all these reviews about the letter. It's a piece of paper trash it and get over it. All the complaints online are about the letters not the services. They even gave me health insurance because I couldn't afford it. They are awesome get over the letter and get out of debt!

I was researching refinancing on the internet, and inadvertently got redirected to some site listed as a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION with a 1-800 #. I called to inquire about refinancing. I immediately was met with a barrage of personal questions, i.e.; name, address, phone number, mother's maiden name, mortgage account number, etc. I stated that I just wanted to ask a question - why am I being asked a million personal questions? I was told the they were making a profile on me. I got pissed, and asked, what for! He seemed adamant in trying to get as much personal info about me as possible, without answering my question. The reason I was calling, and the nature of his response did not add up, so I ended the call. Two days later, I get a letter in the mail titled: Your Renegotiation Credit Card Balance. I could not believe that these scum bags are trying to convince me that I NEED their services, and that they are waiting on me to ACTIVATE my new credit plan (by paying them to ruin my credit). I would NEVER seek out a credit service agency because they are all scam artist.
If anyone truly has debt issues, call your credit card companies yourself and work it out with them. The "middlemen" CRA, are only out to get your money, and they don't care if they ruin your credit or your life. BTW, they are using a new number 1-800-700-1209 - Also link to some rental vacation homes in Tennessee. If there are any people out there who are legally insane. You know where these people are...

the company is probally a scam, but next actually read. It's talking about 5 years imprisonment for any person interfering or obstructing with delivery of the letter - not a threat for you.
