Investigator Riley. Called my boss, my house, my cell, and my neighbor. I returned the call, and the "Investigator" would not identify her company. Threatened a court order and law enforcement involvement. Seems she was calling on behalf of Bank Of America on a loan payment that was sill in the 10 day grace period. Shame on you B of A for utilizing such nasty tactics!

I also got a call from this number. A woman left a message, stating she was an investigator. She also left a phone number and extension to call, but never said her name or company. I called the phone number and it never rang. Just dead air.

It has to do with a default loan that was not paid or paid late usually on a car they say this is officer such an such then save your number and try to back trace your phone if they call you back tell them they have the wrong number

this number goes to Chase Auto Finance, They say they are a investigator from the Fraud and Investigations department. They are trying to locate your cars people. when you call the number back it records you cell or phone number so they can skip trace you. they are hoping you call from a land line at work or home information.

Investigator Lynn called, left a # with extension, 1-800-405-0122 ext 1961, when you call back, leave a message. Who new it wasn't a police officer. Thank God I didn't leave my cell #.
Max 2011-06-06 20:57:44 Unknown

spacey 2011-06-06 20:57:44 Unknown
they called me and said they where an investigator i thought they where the cops thats the way they made me think but then they would not tell me who they were when i called back
Out Of Country Debtor 2011-06-06 20:57:44 Unknown
First Call goes "This is investigator <insert_last_name>, you need to contact my office: 1-800-405-0122 ext. XXXX"
Call back 2'nd time 29 minutes later, leaves no message.
Calls back 3'rd time 1 minute after previous call, hangs up before message.
This is verified a collection agency, skip tracing type, likely for a bad car loan.

It was a woman who said she was Investigator "Ren"(?). She wanted me to call her back and gave the phone number and extension. My caller ID said UNKNOWN but she left the 8004050122 number for me to call back on. I called back and entered her extension. The line went dead. I tried twice.

detective riley called me and left a voicemail saying i needed to call her back asap. I called cuz i thought it might be regarding a recent identity theft claim i filed. when i punched in the extension i was put on hold to very loud music of the black eyed peas. that is when i did a google search and hung up. I suggest that everyone check their phone bill to make sure they haven't acquired an outrageous fee for calling detective riley back or accepting the call.

Caller left voicemail to me using my first name only. She identified herself as investigator Riley. Thanks to this site I know it's a BS call.
PS Riley, if you are reading this, nobody calls me John. :)

Got a call from Investigator Davis trying to be intimidating. Said she would have a warrant put out. They are collecting for Bank of America. Very bad way to do business. They do not communicate what so ever with Bank of America when my situation had been handled over a week ago with the bank. They need to get their act together and communicate a little better if they are a collector for them.
Aggie 2010-05-22 00:36:17 Unknown
Follow up to my earlier post-- Ms. Davis called again while I was home and said she works with BofA, looking for info on the 2nd wife who stopped making payments. I guess they look for anyone who may be able to provide info. Ms. Davis was very pleasant. Collections must be a nasty job-- but doesn't someone have to do it as long as people quit paying?
Aggie 2010-05-19 15:27:03 Unknown
Ditto the above-- message left by "Investigator Sharon Davis" to call her back about an important issue with my ex and his 2nd wife. My call wouldn't go through, which is fine, now that I've seen these other posts. Probably is related to collections as they had some financial issues in the past-- none of which had anything to do with me.

Was a voice mail on the phone when we returned home from being out. "Ivestigator [can't remember name] called and wanted to talk to my stepdaughter. When my husband returned he call, the "Investiga tor" had left for the day. Unknown reason for call, but my husband and I suspect possible collection agency. I agree with other posted comments that they try to make it sound official and intimidating. It is great having this site!

Called and left a voicemail saying that she was an investigator and i needed to call her back asap. I called her she was form Bank Of America i proudly gave her my bankruptcy information and told her where to stick it. Shame on Bank of America for their disgraceful collection attempt.

i just posted what I found out when I got a call from Investigator Wes...She is working for a repossession company. At least that is what my call was regarding. You can file a complaint with the FCC regarding the harrassment.

I received a call from investigator Wes...not knowing who she was and why she was calling I took a message. Googled the number and found all of this..I called her back with my number blocked and found that she is working for a repossession company. Saying that she is to get my car that is current. Immediately I called my finance company and let them know what I was told. So here is one of the reasons they are calling and she would not state her company.

I received a voice mail from this number today. The woman said her name was Investigator Larson and that she had to discuss a very important matter with me, but she didn't leave a company name or any further details as to why she was calling; she only left this 800 number and her extension number.
I called back at about 8:20 p.m. my time (CA) and after one ring there was a message that said, "Please dial the four-digit extension of the party you are trying to reach," which I did. Then the message said, "Record your message after the tone. Press any key to save your message."
Guess what? I left her a message saying that when she got my message and calls me back, which I know she'll do, that not only will she go straight to voice mail, but if she did not leave complete information in any further messages, for example, company/organization name, a brief description of the nature of her call with a callback number, that she would never talk to me over the phone in this lifetime. And even if she does leave another message that meets my requirements, it is only at my discretion or if and when I feel like it that I MIGHT return her call.
You know, some of these bill collectors are real pieces of work, trying to use scare tactics and idle threats to get a response from someone. I say, "Bring it on, *itch," 'cause she wants something from me and I don't have nothing to lose !!!

Investigator Riley got a hold of my parents and told them that my fiance was into drugs and that he was dragging me in to doing it as well. She also told my parents that I was in more trouble then what they could imagine. Needless to say she scared the s*** out of my parents and made them mad at me. I have not even lived with my parents since I was 18. When I called her back I had to try the number six times before I could get ahold of anyone and then she denied saying anything about drugs to my parents.

I got the same message with the same name, but it was a man.

I too received a voicemail from Investigator...(HA) Sharon Davis...Having family in Law Enforcement, and activities that recently happened..kind of scary. Turns out left message and she is looking for husband who has been gone over 12 years. Tacky..it seems if you are truly trying to collect you should properly identify yourself..Of course now I will not help her (if I could as I too could use the owed $), and the scare tactic is not helpful nor the inability to ientify oneself. It sesms like you would get more with honesty!!

all of the above happened to me

My mom got a call from the same number looking for me. I haven't lived with my mother for over 30 years. I suspect they were just calling numbers until they got someone who they think know the person. She said her name was Sahron Davis and she is a private investigator. She didn't say where she was from either.

got a call from 800-405-0122 her name Sharon Davis, said they were investigators for Bank Of America. My son traded in a vehicle a year ago and said that Bank of America hired them to collect on the vehicle traded in. Called Sharon DAvis back and asked the name of the co. she refused.
