Called to inform me that student loans were going to be going into repayment soon.
Don 2011-09-02 20:57:37 Debt Collector
Collection for CIBC.
Funny thing is, I have WRITTEN them to NOT CALL AGAIN, since I don't bank with them, never have banked with them, and now, never WILL bank with them. However, I DO believe I shall collect money from THEM for harassment.
Belzilf 2011-06-06 20:57:49 Unknown
I am curious to know which company is calling me every day at different times.
Andrei 2011-06-06 20:57:49 Unknown
Yes. It is CIBC collection department. I did not pay the minimum on time, so they calling to remind you to pay your credit card balance.
m dawson 2011-06-06 20:57:49 Unknown

blarg 2011-06-06 20:57:49 Unknown

just got called today, say they are CIBC and want me to give out my personal information to confirm my ID, I said no way and they gave me this number to call back, so that I can confirm it's really CIBC... Which I didn't even take the time to do, just to be on the safe side, and even if it was really them, it's going to be for sure, to try and sell me a new product...
PP 2011-02-03 14:42:53 Debt Collector
They called to confirm some details about my student loan, which has recently gone into repayment. Please note (since everyone seems to be saying they are trying to collect on late bills, etc, etc) that I am not late on any payments or anything of the sort. They were simply calling to confirm that I was aware that my student loan was going into repayment in a month, and were quite polite.
Paddy Shaw 2010-09-09 20:09:51 Debt Collector
Contact your phone company and ask them to block this number. Regardless of what they are calling for, not leaving a message constitutes to not wanting a call back.
lovinlife 2010-08-06 21:15:20 Unknown
Does insulting people based on their racial origin make you feel better about yourself? Your argument would be better made if it did not make you sound like an arrogant loser.
If CIBC wanted the money so badly they should leave a message instead of repeatedly calling on a daily basis. I had to google this number to figure out who was calling and now realize that I must have passed by my CIBC bill this month, an honest mistake when sleep deprived due to being a new mother. If they would have left a message yesterday, the problem would have been resolved sooner.
It's true some people are unable to make their monthly payment. I am not one of those people but you on the other hand do not know the situation each individual is facing or the reason they were unable to pay their bill. My bill is $21 and 5 days late. Big deal. White people lose their jobs too or default on credit for other reasons that are out of their control.
So get a life.
joe 2010-06-24 22:50:21 Unknown
your hilarious! if you sign a contract and default on said contract, i think thats a valid reason to call someone. calling ppl scum of the earth when your the one who cannot pay their bills and manage their finances correctly is a little sad. its a simple concept: pay your bills on time, everyone is happy. pay late or dont make a pmt at all, then expect someone will want to figure out if there is an issue. your phone company does it, the cable company does it ect. the bank lent you the money in the first place so they have a right to know why you defaulted on your contract.
joe 2010-06-24 22:43:57 Unknown
yeah, if it was a telemarketer calling the advice would be sound. its not so this was a waste of time.
lol 2010-06-24 22:40:55 Unknown
lol, you may not know all of your wifes dealings my friend, if this # is calling for her, i guarantee there is a reason. plus she may not have current dealings with cibc, but possibly had one a while ago she defaulted on.
FACTS 2010-05-06 15:04:44 Unknown
I cannot believe that you could possibly go from this topic and turn it on natives. Shows the type of person you are.... I hope people think you are scum when on this site.
Its 2010, just because you hate yourself doesnt mean you need to put groups of people down
jimmy 2010-02-15 18:55:28 Unknown
its definitely CIBC collections, if they are calling its either because you owe money and are not paying. Dont complain if your a dead beat and like ignoring people you owe money to.
They may be calling someone else who gave them your # at some point. if you dont want them to call, then call back, you will be able to speak to someone and they will stop calling you.
Rudiger 2010-02-09 03:51:23 Unknown
This will not work as you have a legal obligation to make pymts to debt that you owe so banks and other financial institutions are allowed to call even if you are on the "do not call list"
John Smith 2010-02-09 03:24:38 Unknown
Scum of the earth ? If they are calling you its due to you OWING MONEY! And CIBC doesnt pay their collectors commission, maybe you should research things before making comments about something you know nothing about.
And the biggiest mistake CIBC made is doing business with people that go broke within 2 years of having credit ( most likley your kids that you never educated on credit ). Or its usually Natives and people that become "so called" disabled.
So in closing deal with your financial obligations and you have nothing to worry about or its just a wrong #

they only called me once and left a message asking me to call them back at this number (initial call came from a 1.778 number) ... but i have no business with cibc. i did call back, but the address and d.o.b. on the file are not mine ... i think that they are just trying to track down overdue accounts, and are phoning people sharing a name with the person who didn't pay their bill. the rep was very polite.
crew 2010-01-26 19:19:06 Telemarketer
they are the scum of earth
they are calling from CIBC collections because you were either one minute late on a payment or you missed a payment completely. the people calling from this number are rude, and are on commission, they are disgusting human beings. if you can, just ignore them. they are worthless trash.
a giant scam
skinchaser 2009-12-31 00:14:26 Unknown
I get the same freaking calls every day from that number and it just hangs up right away. I have absolutely no business with the CIBC and would never do business with them. Of course when you call the number you cannot get one of their idiot humans to answer.
heh 2009-12-11 16:11:39 Unknown
you shouldn't call people a "dumbass" when it is infact you who's confused. it's basically exactly what he said.
guy 2009-12-10 00:22:25 Unknown
Not so, they were calling for my wife who has NO business with CIBC, so why in the hell would a "recovery center" be calling?? Dumbass. Its telemarketing, pure and simple
K 2008-12-19 23:17:13 Unknown
Its CIBCs Montreals head office
-recovery center
-basically... pay your bills and they stop calling !
-no sales at all
could also be 18002568580: which is the samething but office in vancouver and toronto
krstoff 2008-01-20 16:07:29 Telemarketer
I think 1 800-4633-459 is CIBC calling to sell a product. A message is never left. I get several a day. The only way to stop it is to block this #.
Licou 2008-01-10 00:07:08 Unknown
They call everyday around 6h30 PM. I don't answer, they don't leave a message. They try again the following day : ).
What's funny is their # is displayed but for some reason, the voicemail center later can't remember it, I always get "# unknown" while all the other annoying calls show their #.
Goose 2007-12-04 15:06:15 Unknown
I received a call from this number as well.
